- Hey guys, Dr. Z again! Just checking in with you and telling you about my progress 5 weeks after Total Knee Replacement Surgery. In this videos I give a few tips about wound care and going to the dentist- check it out and let me know if you have any questions.

AMAZING. I'm 49. Relatively healthy. Getting my TKR in 2 wks from now and I'm having anxiety. Working on calming exercises and ramping up on vitamins and diet. SHOCKED at how well you're doing at week 5.. Very motivational. Thanks for the share.
Week 5 and driving…ROM at 110 degrees and 4 degrees. The game ready ice/compression machine was huge for my recovery. Playing my first round of golf tomorrow! Pushing hard on PT, just wish I could sleep better….

I'm at exactly week 5 post-op and love the videos! I also thank you for mentioning your dentist visit as my dentist told me the same thing after I told them I was going in for a tkr last I saw them. I will confer with my ortho when I see her next week and I am really hoping for a release back to work, maybe with some restrictions. I am doing very well also and I am so glad I had it done and I'm looking forward to a good recovery!
My surgery is in a couple of weeks. My surgeon said no dental work from 3 months after surgery, even a cleaning. I guess it's an abundance of caution.
Had both mine done 3 weeks apart. 1st one Jan 25 2nd Feb 15. 12 weeks out from the 1st. Started golfing a few weeks ago. Started slow, played 4 holes just to see how it was going to be. Moved up to 18 holes last weekend, payed for it Sunday though! 😂
Went to a PT session tonight and I’m able to get both past 120 degrees. Still tough though, they do stiffen up on me.
But all in all, glad I got them done and slowly getting better each week.

The first time I had knee replaced it took me 6 months to return to work
I'm at day 4 post-TKR. Watching videos just proves that everybody😢has their own script.
Graduated to a cane at Day 2, no stomach upset, weight bearing is fine. Stull awaiting a bowel movement, but no discomfort.
Kudos to my wife for providing drugs at the right time and food to soothe the soul. Not to mention pet care that we usually share.
Second in-home PT tomorrow and we'll see what the professional has to say.

hey not to worry i just had my third tkr no problems just make sure u get good physical therapy
It takes 3 months for the bone & titanium to bond.
18 months to main healing.
Why push it?
I’m 5 weeks out, no cane, one last physical therapy. It’s not fun at all, I’m still stiff and have minor pain.

Wow not using a cane any more after 5WEEKS. You are what is wrong with the wprld today. Guess what you only have 6 weeks to get range of motion get up and get going.
U poor thing. 5 weeks and still needing a pass. Had my 1st and 38 days later was back on horse back.
Had my other knee done 15 days ago and now back at work. Quit milking it, man up

K... it, some people me included are 10 weeks out and still can't straighten or bend their knee. Thru no fault of their own, everyone's body is different, and not everyone has a miraculous recovery. My knee is twice as swollen as his. It depends on how your body reacts to a foreign body.
