As a Mexican, all I can say is that there is a reason why Taco Bell has failed to expand into Mexico. I would consider the food at Taco Bell to be more Texas than Mexican.

For everyone who is wondering, cinnamon twists are incredibly easy to make at home. It's just generic dried pasta noodles that get deep fried. Then cinnamon + sugar. If you are going to make these at home, keep in mind that the noodles will grow to like 10 times its size, so keep the batches very small (fire hazard)

    Hello everyone,
So I was born and raised in California and have been in California all my life. I absolutely love Mexican food. Of course being California I love so many different world foods because we have access to everything.
Taco Bell and let's be honest any fast food is not American food or anything. It is all just fast food which is its own category. As far as Mexican food I have had classic grandma made Mexican food, amazing restaurant made food, and fast versions of Mexican food. Taco Bell is not Mexican food. It is Mexican style fast food.
In America most people like fast food but we know it is nothing like where the food is supposed to be from. We also know that there is way better food out there. But it's fast food so yeah fast food.
I honestly feel bad for some of you trying "American Food" for the first time and it's fast food. Because we have so much better food out there. However when I am sick for some reason I crave either taco bell or McDonald's probably because the kid in me when I am sick takes over.

The US 100% sells the cinnamon twists. Maybe for some reason they don’t in the state you guys are buying these from, but they’re a Taco Bell staple in the US

We may not have India's Naked Chicken Taco but every so often we do get the Naked Chicken Chalupa. Not sure why Joe is surprised about the Doritos Locos Taco since Doritos is Frito Lay product and owned by Pepsi, and Taco Bell is owned by Yum! Brands which used to be owned by Pepsi. They have a lifetime deal for carrying Pepsi products although I guess that doesn't seem to apply to India like it does in the U.S. and the U.K.

I think both countries could benefit from some ground turkey tacos. It's healthier, Plus it adds more variety to the menu. When I used to live in an area near Del Taco, I used to get turkey tacos all the time, as well as fish tacos. I wonder why they haven't thought of that yet

Yeah, there's a reason my bunch calls the crunchy ones "trapdoor tacos" -- because that's exactly what they do when you unwrap them. They dump their contents right down onto the table, or your lap, or all over your freshly-cleaned interior car upholstery.

Don't want to be pedantic about it, but rajma and pinto beans, while similar, aren't quite the same thing. Rajma are red kidney beans. Pinto beans are larger, lighter in colour and milder in taste.

The difference comes down to this:
In India you go to Taco Bell for the experience. You're ok paying a premium to eat Indianized Mexican food.
In the US you go to Taco Bell because it is one of the few places where you can still get a decent meal with the last few bucks in your wallet!

In the mid to late 1980s, (the last time I ate at taco bell) they would sell their regular crunchy tacos on Sundays for .25 cents each. My friends and I would show up with a $20 bill and buy 80 tacos.
With the exception of looks, there is nothing Mexican about taco bell.
