It's an unfortunate situation for anyone to lose such an importan sense, so going about the situation is a bit tricky from my experience.
I became disabled when I was 17, and prior to meeting my now-husband, I have had more than one person who i was talking to or dating say they were into me being disabled or glad that I was disabled. Every time it was because they wanted to control me and daily life, and they wanted me to feel like they were doing me a favor by being with me so I would feel like I owe them something. Now that I'm an adult and I've learned the hard way, I see that's not unconditional love, it's a HUGE red flag

I have a lot of senior and elderly neighbours that have meds for glaucoma and had cataracts operated, as well as medicine progressed in the last 10,20yrs. It is awkward, but not that unreasonable or clearly malicious that she took him for an eye exam, and asked if there's anything "new" they can do. She's not an MD - it's not like she gave him a lie detector test or took him to a witchdoctor to cast spells upon him.
I never thought of it from that angle, but I also have a hard time believing she's capable of being even that calculating. She telegraphs too hard about everything else she thinks to keep her mouth shut about something like that.

So I’m a surgery coordinator at an ophthalmologists office, and blind people get eye exams all the time. Usually it’s just monitoring the progression of the issue, but in SOME cases there are things we can do to regain some vision. Glaucoma, no sorry the damage is done. BUT with cataracts (mature/severe) you can get surgery to replace the lens in your eye and regain the vision. It all just depends on the disease.
But didn't you get a feeling she was there to CONFIRM that Chidi couldn't see, and to be REASSURED that his condition was irreversible? I did not get the vibe of "good intentions" and "hopefulness" she was trying to portray.
And plus, he's in Nigeria and he's not in a huge city like Lagos. Even if there were treatments that could improve his situation in the US, they might not be available there. It's just grossly irresponsible to take him to that appointment, imo. It's something you wait to do once he's in the US.
@@2006glg actually I’d say the opposite. Do they have the most medically advanced treatments? Probably not. But it’s for SURE not grossly irresponsible. It’s important to make sure nothing else is affecting the health of the eye even if you’re blind. There are so so so many other things that could affect his eyes without him knowing because he IS blind and having a doctor really take a look is super beneficial especially after what they made out to be years. Imo the dr was probably uncomfortable with the cameras and wasn’t sure why they were filming the exam.

I’m from Durban which is the same city as him and curry is one of the most popular dishes as there is a really huge Indian population in Durban. Curries take hours to make and he really put a lot of time into preparing this for her. I think Chidi's sister was upset with the fact that Rayne shouted at her at the market. It was honestly very rude. I think Rayne should have apologised to his sister for overreacting considering the fact that she eats chicken and its store bought which is wayyy worse than what she encountered at the market. They have been nothing but welcoming to her, gave her their bedroom (which was probably the biggest room and shows how much they want her to feel at home), cooked their favourite dish for her and even offered to prepare her something else if it wasn't to her liking). You can tell that they are a very humble loving and close knit family. As a Nigerian myself I can tell that Chidi's sister is very patient and welcoming and she was clearly hurt by how aggresive Rayne was with her words. Rayne is probably used to never having to apologise for her bad actions because she acts like a child and people around her probably enable it. Sometimes you have to hold your tongue it doesn't mean your opinions are not valid, there is an appropriate way to say things but I don't think Rayne is capable of doing that. Its just common curtsey and being polite to your hosts.

I have a lot of senior and elderly neighbours that have meds for glaucoma and had cataracts operated, as well as medicine progressed in the last 10,20yrs. It is awkward, but not that unreasonable or clearly malicious that she took him for an eye exam, and asked if there's anything "new" they can do. She's not an MD - it's not like she gave him a lie detector test or took him to a witchdoctor to cast spells upon him.
I never thought of it from that angle, but I also have a hard time believing she's capable of being even that calculating. She telegraphs too hard about everything else she thinks to keep her mouth shut about something like that.

Okay Rayne is actually dangerous!! She’s very abusive and this could get so much worse if she’s above with him, her body language suggests that she would get violent! Also Chidi’s sister is an angel for being so classy and dealing with her so calmly
So I’m a surgery coordinator at an ophthalmologists office, and blind people get eye exams all the time. Usually it’s just monitoring the progression of the issue, but in SOME cases there are things we can do to regain some vision. Glaucoma, no sorry the damage is done. BUT with cataracts (mature/severe) you can get surgery to replace the lens in your eye and regain the vision. It all just depends on the disease.

And plus, he's in Nigeria and he's not in a huge city like Lagos. Even if there were treatments that could improve his situation in the US, they might not be available there. It's just grossly irresponsible to take him to that appointment, imo. It's something you wait to do once he's in the US.
@@2006glg actually I’d say the opposite. Do they have the most medically advanced treatments? Probably not. But it’s for SURE not grossly irresponsible. It’s important to make sure nothing else is affecting the health of the eye even if you’re blind. There are so so so many other things that could affect his eyes without him knowing because he IS blind and having a doctor really take a look is super beneficial especially after what they made out to be years. Imo the dr was probably uncomfortable with the cameras and wasn’t sure why they were filming the exam.

It's mostly because it's not ideal for IBS stomach after jet lag, especially if it's not properly refrigerated like what Sunny made. I had fresh curry right after a flight once because it was the only option and I was not having fun the next morning. She needs bread and oats not spices if she has digestive issues.

I’m from Durban which is the same city as him and curry is one of the most popular dishes as there is a really huge Indian population in Durban. Curries take hours to make and he really put a lot of time into preparing this for her. I think Chidi's sister was upset with the fact that Rayne shouted at her at the market. It was honestly very rude. I think Rayne should have apologised to his sister for overreacting considering the fact that she eats chicken and its store bought which is wayyy worse than what she encountered at the market. They have been nothing but welcoming to her, gave her their bedroom (which was probably the biggest room and shows how much they want her to feel at home), cooked their favourite dish for her and even offered to prepare her something else if it wasn't to her liking). You can tell that they are a very humble loving and close knit family. As a Nigerian myself I can tell that Chidi's sister is very patient and welcoming and she was clearly hurt by how aggresive Rayne was with her words. Rayne is probably used to never having to apologise for her bad actions because she acts like a child and people around her probably enable it. Sometimes you have to hold your tongue it doesn't mean your opinions are not valid, there is an appropriate way to say things but I don't think Rayne is capable of doing that. Its just common curtsey and being polite to your hosts.
