This channel is what makes me believe anyone can do an incredible game; you're so extremely inspiring, and the fact that you can make these huge projects in such a short time (I mean, 2 weeks to basically make FFVII remake's most amazing feature) it's.... outstanding. Truly outstanding. I'd love to know where and how you've learnt such ways.
Your channel is just so inspiring, being able to showcases continually so many cool and unique game features in such a simple and presentable way like this is awesome. I've been there since the Super Smash Bros. Selection Screen video but it's really amazing how this channel keep growing exponentially. We're soon gonna hit the 100k bar.
No. Maybe these are drones from some higher-up menace. Faceless Mooks called 'Jambots' for you to bash about at your leisure for EXP and Gold. P.S. Would appreciate it if you updated the FFXV Warp Strike and KHIII Shotlock with Jammo.
I absolutely love your channel, everything you make is entertaining and informative. I have a massive passion for game development and your videos fuel that even more!
I discovered this channel by chance, when the Wall Merge video appeared in my recommendations. All of the videos here are incredible, and the projects are so well polished. It would be cool to see something like the spy's disguise mechanic from TF2 or the Monado Arts from Xenoblade Chronicles if that was possible. But I'm loving these videos!
You are making magic and then showing to all of us that it is just creativity and good work, it is very inspiring. Thanks a lot for your work and for sharing everything so openly
It is crazy wild how you make taking such engaging gameplay elements that are complex and you break it down and do it like it was a day or two worth of work. It's like watching a friend who plays guitar just copy a song he's never heard before after you show it to him.
You know, ever since I saw FF7's new combat mode, I knew I wanted to recreate it. I also knew, you would eventually do a video on it. It's just one of those mechanics I knew you wouldn't be able to resist. You beat me to it and boy, it looks so amazing! Well done.
Thank you for sharing technical information! Your channel gives a lot of technic which is not easily shared by other developer. I really appreciate it!
Could you guys do a Sonic Homing Attack? Maybe something from Spark the Electric Jester 2? Would be awesome to see what you guys would do with a High-Speed game!
You could use the buster sword skill from this vid to achieve the effect i.e. if in air and target in range > move to target with small offset > hurt target > add a bit of upwards force to keep sonic in the air
Nice video André, love your videos, I like the post-processing you added to the project, and those evil Jammos look great, excellent vid, keep it up! You are the best.
Tactical Mode is imo the future of Action RPGs/Turn Based RPG hybrids, it allows for the best of both worlds. The fun and stylish action of an ARPG and the tactical thinking of a turn based JRPG. Even better if they used machine learning to mimic the player's fighting style when not actively controlling a party member (or introducing multiplayer co-op like the Mana series.) They could also use that to create a customized boss that adapts their style to challenge the player.
This is my new favourite channel well done! Can I recommend doing some longer format versions for more newbies like me who'd learn more with a little more explanation. THANKS!
Hey! Was considering joining Patreon... Is there posts with more detail there or on the patreon discord only if I was wanting any more details? Lovvveee seeing this channel and new videos! New to Unity though lol
Damn, not bad! I was actually wondering how you could do a similar system to implement it in a little project I'm working on, and as always you're great when it comes to this.
I have another idea similar to this one. Since you did slowmo. How about fast mode? For example, in MGS snake eater, you eat the fake death pill and then you die. But you choose the revival pill and then it restorws the player in a quick speed mode, while the rest of the environment moves in normal speed.
I wanted to make this combat system too, but I got stuck with the swordfight and didn't find any help. I only found this on the official Unity channel with my last hope. Holy fucking shit dude, you saved my hopes as a game developer.
Inspiring work! I see you are using Sword and Shield Attack from Mixamo, out of the box that animation moves the character forward and I'm wondering how you prevented the animation from moving the character and instead just kept it in place?
Your amount of talent boggles my mind. You can do ANYTHING in unity. You are the shiguru miyamoto of unity. Your a madlad. Sorry to ask but... Could you do the rail balance system from the tony hawk games?
This is absolutely phenomenal, I'd really love to make a game that was hand drawn inspired the cartoons I watch in the 80s like Galaxy Rangers, Ulysses 31 and other sci fi/Space Opera shows. It will be my first time programming using unity although I was going to mess around with Dreams in the PS4 first. I'm not too sure whether to go 3D or 2d side scrolling with some nice parallax backgrounds. I'll start small to get used to unity. Good job man👍🏾
Yaaaayyy new video from andre. Every time i get excited to watch. Again a master piece. Andre you should consider making paid courses on how to polish a game when you have the time. I would definitely buy all of them :). Love you man, stay safe.
Wow, you sure know how to get the most out of Unity. I'm learning a lot, thanks Andre! It would be great to see your take on Punch-Out mechanics, maybe about how a character gets roughed-up as the combat progresses? Or maybe some fighting mechanics, chaining attacks/counter-attacks
I had an idea of a slightly different "tactical mode" (slow mo when select menu) written in an game design document years ago (before FF7R battle combat was revealed), to use for game I was planning to develop, but now I'm afraid when I release my game people would think I just copied the tactical mode from FF7R :(

I'm not sure, if this comment will be buried by the hundreds of comments. But I wanted to suggest a game with a 2.5D Look. The game is called Octopath Traveler. I thought it might pique your interest. The game itself is developed with the unreal engine. But I've seen channels try to imitate the look of the game inside Unity, albeit without the breakdown so to speak. In a nutshell, Octopath uses 2D sprites construsted in a such a way it's practically in a 3D space with a fixed camera angle. It also uses shaders, particle effects and 2D animation to create a very beautiful and atmospheric world. The gameplay is reminiscent of the classic JRPG, whilst introducing new mechanics. The soundtrack is a great reimagining of classic JRPG tunes with the use of modern small orchestras. The game still hae flaws, such as a the non existant grand plot, which is most likely a design choice. Some people like the design choice, some don't. I thought it might be an interesting challenge. I also wanted to thank you for providing content about game mechanics. It really helps aspiring game developers on a tight budget or a small team. Your channel inspired me to look into game development. Keep up the good work! edit : I'm sorry I had to edit out some parts, because I couldn't get youtube's bold text to work properly. I also had some typos.
hi, I love this channel, I was wondering if you feel that it would be interesting to do a video on how to reproduce the missile shower from the Macross/Robotech series, when in Guardian or Jet mode a bunch of missile are fired and they do everything but direct attack to the target. Regards
You can put Time.unscaledTime in the script to ignore timeScale. So if the UI has unscaledTime written somewhere in a script attached to it, then the timeScale will remain normal.
Nice tutorial . How do you make the character stop walking while attacking? i used a blend tree for my animation but when i press forward and key for attack , my character does the both at the same time. Can u please help me?
