To solve the problem of the rear hanging too low put a 2x4 across the rear of the side rails so the extension goes off the back at an upward angle. You can use angle iron or larger lumber as needed for strength but the idea is the same.

Might work in a pinch but be aware that you are only allowed 35% of your trailer wheelbase as overhang. Which means that your trailer as configured from the factory is probably already maxed out without any additional overhang. Load swinging out into traffic is a major concern with this setup.
