    Nice job I have the same trailer that I am restoring too. Very helpful. I was able to flip mine over. I’m also going to relocate the tail lights as these often get broken where they are currently.
    This trailer was overloaded and I have to reinforce the tongue as well. The maintenance of the bearings was not performed and I have to replace the axle too.
    I’m just a hobby welder and your advice will definitely help.

    lmao this was worth watching just for the reverse worm. I'm looking to do the same to my trailer, these things are shaky as a baby giraffe with out some support. hauled my motorcycle 300 miles with it and it was terrifying watching it shake around the whole way.

      Thanks. The reverse worm is the one skill I've mastered over the years lol

      What about just throwing down some heavy duty plywood on the bed of the trailer? That’s what I use when I haul my atv and it works great!

    Having experience welding on my neighbors trailer, next time you do that repair, turn the trailer over and your life will be much easier. Thanks for the video!

      Thanks for the advise. I've found that it's easier to use the floor jack to push the new support up and level out the mesh for a cleaner look. If you like the video be sure to check out the rest of the channel!

    Dude - I've got the same exact trailer if it's the 5X10. Take the tailgate off and flip the trailer up, or even over - upside down. Much easier to work on. Yea, you can do it by yourself. They aren't that heavy.

      Normally I would flip it when they are that small. I work on much bigger trailer and was tryng to show the process I use with those to help yall out.

    I know this was over 3 years ago, but I noticed there were several spots where you welded which had the wiring on the opposite side of your weld. I'm curious to know if the heat from the welds melted any of the wiring. Overall, good job! 👍

    • @stumpnc
      @stumpnc  11 місяців тому

      Thank you! The coating on the wire does show some signs of heat. But as far as function, they work just fine and I cant tell other than little dis coloration that the wires took on a lot of heat. Thanks for watching

    You can't tell me his big ass can't grab hold of the side of that trailer and just flip it over no problem😂 always his size that's what I do most likely but also that's probably why my back's going to be gone it 50😂

      hahaha wish I was still that big, the joins of young and freedom lol. Like you said everything hurts now. But, I purposely left it sitting up right to demonstrate how I handle bigger trailers for educational purpose.

    How much would a job like this cost i ask because i need something like this done to my 5x8 utility trailer so i can put motors and transmision to haul away to the scrap yard?

    • @stumpnc
      @stumpnc  11 місяців тому

      Thats a variable answer question. I did this for material cost for friend. Normally i would have charged $200 + material for a days worth of work as a part time business with another income. A full-time shop would be $40-60 an hour

    it would have been a lot better turning the trailer upside down to weld it, simple logic

      @@scarface9617 On things that are structural, youre supposed to weld uphill as opposed to going down hill. For this small job , either will be just fine. People come alive in the comments of welding videos, everyone is an expert in here.

      I got a 4x8 like this one posted on FB looking for utility trailer some guy had bought it brand new used it once and sat outside since lol’
      All I had to do was spray paint black where was faded and add new lights as wires were shot’

    • @stumpnc
      @stumpnc  4 роки тому +1

      Its going pretty good for the amount of time I have available to get stuff done. I have to put time into my other jobs to help supplement the business. Still trying to figure out cost to profit ratios. The business can self sustain itself but the other jobs buys the nicer equipment.
