I love how Norma’s concierge skills came out strong in this video. She was still selling all the good stuff the Mirage has to offer. It’s clear she still has good memories from her time there
When it comes to the outdoors, I'm going to really miss the tropical landscape and waterfalls. It's one of the most relaxing areas on the strip. I'd often stop for a few minutes along the fence just to enjoy the scenery and soothing sound of the waterfalls.
I have never seen a better hotel tour of the Mirage, or any hotel actually. The Mirage has my heart, ever since I started staying there in 1990. I've seen many changes over the years, and you just reminded me of some of them. In the 1990's, the spot where Diablo's is located used to be an enclosure with white tigers. I was at the Mirage when they were fiming Vegas Vacation. The buffet shown in Vegas Vacation was crazy amazing, but they updated it to Cravings. Cravings was good too, but totally different. I have so many fun, fabulous, happy, and sentimental memories of the Mirage, and I'm really going to miss it. You really captured how wonderful the Mirage was/is, and I truly hope the Hard Rock will be just as wonderful. Thank you Norma for such a lovely, heartwarming video.
“NORMA, SAVE THE MIRAGE” I used to spend hours there just about every weekend since moving to Vegas. The place really was an extension of my living room. It was just the right size and layout. You never felt lost in there and it was always so comfortable. Every part of the property always had just the right amount of energy for the space. The Sportsbook chairs were so inviting and The Still restaurant was perfect for watching all the games. The pool area with all the palm trees offered plenty of well needed shade for the long summer days, without the music just blaring. And by far my favorite place to just “sit and be” in all of Las Vegas was in the back poolside with the Dolphins. Just wanted to say a little dolphin prayer for Bella, Maverick, and K2. I’m sure all dolphins go to heaven. I just hope that this place isn't a “True Desert Mirage” as the closer you get to it, the more it will just fade away.
Norma, for the life of me, I cannot believe that you worked as a concierge at The Mirage this whole time. I must have walked past that desk hundreds of times. While walking back and forth from the parking garage. I must admit I never really looked over there when walking through the check-in area. It’s probably for the best that I didn’t know you were there, as every week I probably would have dropped off a big vase of flowers with a giant note on it saying “FOR NORMA”. Just for the sole purpose of embarrassing you in front of all your coworkers, of course. Anyway, there will be a massive hole in my heart when The Mirage lives up to its namesake and becomes a true desert mirage one day.
Thanks for documenting this. Wish there were more videos/pictures of the Monte Carlo, miss that place. Someday people will be saying the same about the Mirage
Had our wedding dinner reception at The Onda Italian Restaurant in 2000. Mirage was always a special place with Siegfried & Roy, the tiger exhibit when you first walked in, dolphins in the back, fish tank reception desk, and of course the volcano! Always a classy hotel and loved the beautiful floral arrangements! Will miss The Mirage!
🥳Normaaa!!! Thanks for making this video about your memories of the Mirage. I never knew that you were a concierge there,🌹🛏️ how cute is that! Your work experience there explains why you're so amazing at what you do now...great job!🥰👍
Mirage was my first LV experience. It was a great place to stay. You did a good job covering the place, allowing us to remember as it is today. Farewell, Mirage!
love the mirage. came here during my first time in vegas with my dad. we got to eat at the buffet, see the shows, ordered in-room services, and laid out by the pool. he's gone now, but i'll be coming back right before it closes one more time this year. loved this video! got me more excited to see it one last time, some of my best vegas memories here!
Loved this video Norma. Thank you for mentioning Kokomo’s. I was so disappointed that it closed. The Mirage is such a fantastic property and my favorite place to stay. So many great memories.
Great video! I remember going to Jet Nightclub at The Mirage and it was always fun and to the point. And, being a 90’s kid I always watched Vegas Vacation.
Norma: I know quitting the concierge job was a hard decision for you, but we're very glad that you did, so you could make great videos like this. It is very sad to see so much of Las Vegas' history disappearing. It's nice we have the memories, though. Thank you for this.
Great seeing the video! I bumped into you when I was staying at The Mirage last week. The hotel was still really great. The rooms can use some love, though. Glad you’re documenting it before it changes.
That’s a great little fact knowing you came from the mirage concierge department. I’m in college right now learning about hospitality emphasizing in hotel management and lodging. Concierge would be a great position to learn the ins and out about your local areas and property. Great video by the way!!!
Thanks for the look back. My wife and I stayed there this past March for the first time, and didn't really know the history, nor did we know it would be our only time staying there. Interesting that Vegas Vacation filmed there, and I feel for you since you actually worked there. Anyway, thanks for documenting how the Mirage really was, and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.
Thank you for the small time capsule of the Mirage. It was my first property to stay at when I first visited Vegas. It's also my favorite place to stay at. I would say my favorite thing, is the unique smell. It's some kind of tropical smell that I've never found anywhere else. Again, thank you.
Great video Norma!! Stayed at the Mirage this past September. So glad we got to stay there before the changes. Loved the tropical escape feel of the pool! Going to miss it!
We are only planning our mother/daughter trip Dec-Feb sometimes, so may not get to see this hotel. I am sad, as it just looks/sounds like it was such a fabulous hotel with so much history. Truly one of a kind and I bet it will be missed by many. Thanks for this walk through, I very much enjoyed it! ♥
Great video. I have some great memories of the Mirage. The employees were fantastic to the guests. When it was a Wynn property it was fantastic. MGM slowly let it fade. Thanks for the memories, Norma!
MGM didn't let it fade. It's still a vibrant, extremely popular, extremely clean property. Rooms are beautiful. Carpets have been replaced in the past couple years. It's all newly painted in the past few years. Etc.
At 5.00 saying Heritage is OUR main steakhouse still thinking like a concierge. My Mirage memories are the Siegfried and Roy magic show in the 90'S, visiting the secret Garden and meeting Siegfried and visiting Khardashian Khaos. Even if i,ve been to Vegas countless times i always make sure to watch 1-2 Volcano show each trip just love it
I also remember always getting to the pool way early so I could get first choice of pool chair! Loved their pool. Also loved the hot tub which was kind of secluded!
Wonderful tribute Norma. I will dearly miss The Mirage, loved staying there and got to see Siegfried & Roy a few times. Being in Vegas this past November i had to visit it for the last time, i will miss the smell when you first walked it, hopefully the Beatles LOVE will continue. Very sad to see it go.
Mirage is my favorite spot on the strip. I used to just stand and watch the falls and ducks - it is so relaxing. It's so lovely in day and even prettier at night. Secret garden was amazing. Those dolphins were so friendly and well trained. Mirage provided cirque such a grand space and publicity (you can see the Beatles from all over the strip). Super bummed it's going away. Wish they could build HR somewhere else on the strip - maybe expand or demolish some of the other far less grand casinos. Thanks for this video. You have amazing presentation skills plus such good content.
The Mirage was my first welcome to Vegas. Cravings buffet, the great rooms, the volcano, and BB King's made the whole trip a wonderful experience. I'm excited to see what happens with Hard Rock, but will miss what it used to be.
Excellent hotel! I could live at that pool. A few years ago I noticed Norma working behind the counter even with her mask on I couldn’t help myself from saying hi because she’s such a nice lady.

Great vlog! Really enjoyed your personal insights. I guess that's why you're the best Vegas vlogger!!!!!!! Always had pretty good luck gambling there. Will be missed. No doubt. Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Enjoy and be safe!
Mirage will be missed for sure. I think time was up for the Habitat, my feelings go both ways. Being near 50 I have never been to Africa or done a safari trip so in that respect it was kind of cool but the animals looked so bored and sad just laying around. Anyway the Volcano was the coolest!
We saw a male lion there that looked totally frustrated. He was pacing in circles & looked like he was having mental issues. I hope they find a nice place for all these beautiful animals.
@@DoctorGuitar They switch out the big cats all day long they have other places they go and aren't on display all day plus some of the money went to a preservation in Africa. We actually met Siegfried one day at the secret garden he came there often to check on the big cats he was a super nice guy.
The Mirage was my go to spot after the Stardust went away. It was the first casino where I played Blackjack in 2002 on my first trip to Vegas, and I remember sitting in the Sportsbook, where the waitress kept bringing me beers, and I remember thinking, “I could get used to this”. “Love” is an excellent show, and I hope it remains long term. I’ve spent many happy hours there, playing slots and video poker, and getting my first 3 night comp. I’ll be interested to see what Hard Rock does on the Strip, but for me, and millions of others, The Mirage will live on in our hearts and our memories.
Thank you for giving us the information on this iconic casino and hotel before it turns into the Hardrock. I will definitely miss this place. I do remember the movie Vegas Vacation so funny. Thanks again for a great video.
What a love letter to The Mirage! 💌 I was sad when I heard that they permanently closed the poker room after quarantine. The Mirage was my first Vegas mixed game poker experience! Four years later, all I play are mixed games! 😀
One thing i will definitley miss, is the Tram between treasure island and the mirage front door. It was an awesome shkrtcut to the mirage and also out to ceasars or harrahs..
Love is the best Cirque show that I have seen. The Secret Garden was an awesome place to visit. I will miss that place the most. The buffet was once one of the better buffets, but for at least a few years it went downhill until the pandemic. I liked staying at the Mirage and playing there. But change is the only constant in Vegas.
I love the Mirage!! It's stunning. I live here in Vegas, and the lobby particularly, is so gorgeous with the lighting & ambiance, etc. My favorite thing was the smell of the chlorine with all the water falls..I guess it reminds me of being in my hometown Miami!🏝
I remember the deli, I had matzoh ball soup there and it was good! It’s something else now, selling sandwiches. Enjoyed this video, especially all the cutaways to when you were there…and your pix of your staff pic, and the one where you ate the burger. Very nostalgic.
Your video was great understood everything you said unbelievable they want to destroy one of the best casinos on the strip love watching your videos up here in cold cold Milwaukee take care Norma you did a great job😊
I miss Carnegie Deli. I thought the one in NY was better, but I was able to go to this one a lot more often. Now they're both gone. So are both Stage Delis, the one in NY down Seventh Avenue from Carnegie Deli and the one at the Forum Shops that closed many years ago. Now that I'm older, I'm seeing my favorite restaurants close.
Great video Norma! I've stayed there many times and didn't know half of what they offer there. I also recognized and met you there a few years ago when you had like 20k subs! Great to see you killing it! - Chris from The Griddle Guys on youtube!
I love the stunning Mirage!!! ❤ It's just the right size... not too big & not too small. It's cozy... perfect!!! 😊 The Still is awesome!!! 😋 The pool area is the best!!! 😎 It's so sad the Hard Rock bought it... getting rid of the beautiful volcano area and putting in a tacky guitar shaped hotel 😢😢😢
@@elabuterin7150 Exactly!!! I stayed there for the last time in May... I'm so sad. I just can't believe such a beautiful property will be ruined!!! 😭😭😭
I must be an OOG since I was eating at the Brazilian BBQ place next to BB King during the grand opening. Saw BB King enter the restaurant while eating next door.
Been to the Mirage a few times and think it is a very beautiful hotel and got a great theme. Won't be coming back to Vegas until a year or two so it is great to see this send off video.
I'll miss the mirage. My brother and 2 of my cousins worked here for a while. It was my favorite casino to park at when visiting the strip. Thanks for this awesome video of the mirage, loved it and now subscribed 🥰
EXCELLENT video Norma!! You highlighted the Mirage property beautifully! I’ve always loved the Mirage, it will be missed!😢 Hope you have a Magical Merry Christmas amiga!!!🎄🎁 🎅🏻❤

Your video was great understood everything you said unbelievable they want to destroy one of the best casinos on the strip love watching your videos up here in cold cold Milwaukee take care Norma you did a great job😊
Wow very good information! 15:11
Had good memories of this casino, I won a JP just seating at hoompa loompa machine!!
Thanks for the memories Mirage/Norma. Another great video. I'm going to the LOVE
show on the day after Christmas. I'm Psyched
Aww gonna miss the mirage. Been there once as a kid. ❤️
Great video Norma! I've stayed there many times and didn't know half of what they offer there. I also recognized and met you there a few years ago when you had like 20k subs! Great to see you killing it! - Chris from The Griddle Guys on youtube!
Thank you for making this Norma 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I love the stunning Mirage!!! ❤ It's just the right size... not too big & not too small. It's cozy... perfect!!! 😊 The Still is awesome!!! 😋 The pool area is the best!!! 😎 It's so sad the Hard Rock bought it... getting rid of the beautiful volcano area and putting in a tacky guitar shaped hotel 😢😢😢
Totally agree with you! Perfect size, beautiful rooms and food choices for every budget. We’ll be staying there for one last time in March😢.
@@elabuterin7150 Exactly!!! I stayed there for the last time in May... I'm so sad. I just can't believe such a beautiful property will be ruined!!! 😭😭😭
@@annieis300 Hard Rock might’ve failed from the beginning of taking over and may fail more!

I stayed at Mirage in June and loved it, one of my favourites! Somehow we didn't see the Shin Lim Theatre at all, it must be well hidden.
Awww the mirage was the first Vegas hotel I stayed the night in! I’ll never forget this place! It was a great hotel for the amount I payed for. 😢😊

Great idea for doing this video! 👍👍
Very sad to see it go. My wife and I got married in 2005 in Vegas and stayed at the Mirage. Our wedding dinner was at Cravings. Sad to see it go. Thanks for the great video Norma.
Norma, thanks for a wonderful review of the Mirage, it's past and what the future holds for it.
