Norma! i feel you on this one!! seeing the mirage go breaks my heart. it was my family vacation spot for over 30 years. i remember that arcade that used to be by the pool, the tiger habitat that was in that walkway where rhumbar is now. i remember the pool used to have slides, the buffet with their famous bread pudding.. i could go on forever. i even had my 21st bday there at a tower suite. i recently went to the mirage for one last goodbye as well. after watching your video, i really feel the same energy as you during the video. you get it. this place is legendary. on top of all of that.. IM IN THIS VIDEO! i was only there one night to say goodbye and i was also staying on the 24th floor. what a trip!! thank you for this video! i still hope something goes wrong with the deal and mirage ends up staying forever🌋🐬🌴🥥

My dad used to work as a security guard at the Mirage when I was little. He would take me there often to see the white tigers and to swim in the pool. He passed away last year and I haven't stepped foot inside the Mirage in years. I have to go back to relive the nostalgia before it closes. Thanks for sharing this video and reminding me of why this place is so special.

The Mirage is a special place in Vegas history because it was the first mega resort to open on the strip. Steve Wynn had a vision and his vision was The Mirage. It will always be a piece of Vegas history.

Aloha Norma. This is one of your best videos IMO. The entire video has a bitter sweet vibe, but combined with your personal insider knowledge and your obvious love for the property, the video is the best tribute to the Mirage that I've seen so far. Excellent work. I'm sure thousands of folks will enjoy your video for years to come.

This was such an epic hotel back in the day. From swimming with the dolphins to the white tigers.
I walked through the hotel during F1 last November and I was shocked at what it had become.
    RIP Mirage
Happy to have stayed there several times.

Imagine staying there as a little girl when things felt magical and having those family memories. Then growing up and unexpectedly working there. I feel for Norma, I would feel surreal as well. It’s just a hotel but I’m sad to see it go. As a kid I made my family walk from Paris Hotel just to see the volcano show. Tropicana was ready to go, Mirage still had at least a decade to go🤍

What a sweet video. You really captured the essence of the resort. Such and iconic property. C'mon, Vegas Vacation! How could they do this? 😪We loved staying at the Mirage, and we met you on my July birthday trip in 2021. You were kind enough to pose in a picture with us. We're such fans of yours and think you're a very special soul. Thank you, Norma. Onward and upward. Also, congratulations on your new house. Wonderful! We hope to run into you again in the future. Blessings.

Never had I went inside the Mirage for any of my Vegas trips but it is a famous Vegas Strip icon that will be surely be missed by many; I will be visiting Vegas in two months, which will be too late for me to visit the Mirage that will be closed by then but may see the beginning stages of the renovation process when I come visit.
If I had to go back in time (such as 2019 when I had last went to Vegas) before the sale announcement, I would definitely like to visit the Mirage and see the unique attractions it had to offer, especially the indoor aquarium and the wild animal exhibit!
Overall, very touching and excellent video!

Great video, Norma. We will be in Vegas next week and staying at the Mirage for 4 nights. Very bittersweet, glad we get to experience it one last time. First stayed at Mirage back in 2006 and had multiple stays there since then. I'll be taking our son the the Beatles show while out there. Thanks for your video! RIP Mirage. What an icon. Thanks, Rich.

MJs One and Beatles Love shows were the only reasons my wife and I had to visit Las Vegas at least once in our lifetime. So when we heard that Love was coming to an end we rushed and booked a trip from our hometown in Mexico.
We didn't stayed at the Mirage but we will be able to say that we walked through its hallways, played some slots, feel the fire of its volcano and whatched the must beatiful Cirque du Soleil show ever.
Last week we totally enjoyed our quick visit to Vegas, your videos helped us to, and definetelly will return in the future for more, perhaps once the Hard Rock's giant guitar arrives to The Strip 🥲

Still my all time favorite hotel in Vegas. Amazing pool complex, easy to navigate, great food options from back in the day like the buffet, BLT Burger and Samba. Also, Resort Tower rooms with their private elevators and an easy 5 minute walk from your room to the sidewalk. And of course, the atrium and Volcano.
I will never stay at the Hard Rock when it reopens. RIP.

Thank you, Norma, for doing the Mirage. My first stay at the Mirage was when i turned 21 in 1995. iI.ve probably have stayed at the property 35 times over the years. It was my home away from home in Vegas. I use to play Poker a lot and back in the day and the Mirage Poker room was the place to be. I've probably have seen the Love Show 25 - 30 times. It's also my all time favorite Cirque show. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds is my favorite part of the performance. Thanks again Norma

We started staying at the Mirage since 1999 and every year since. The white tigers up front behind glass, coins in the slots and the cafe where the Griswalds had breakfast. My favorite through all these years was walking in by the gold mermaids and that scent and my favorite spot under the palm tree facing the pool waterfall. Also saw Beatles Love about six times. We spent many birthday and anniversary celebrations at the Mirage. This saddens me so, but we were able to say our last goodbye in May and video taped the volcano. I hope those little ducks find a new home.😔

I’ve stayed at Mirage many, many times over the years in all kinds of rooms and suites. It is the best place in the best location. The property still has a lot of vibrance and life left in it. I was treated very well staying there under Hard Rock ownership so I’m not knocking them, but I always held out hope that it would be the “Hard Rock at Mirage” with minimal changes.

We got footage of the Volcano show twice on this trip and will be putting it up on our channel closer to the July date when I can edit it. I also took a walkthrough of the major sites like the Atrium and Aquarium with a friend it’s surreal to think that with the Volcano show this will be the last time we all will see it. It will be a very “off the cuff” video but I do hope that it can preserve the memory of the Volcano show, Atrium, and Aquarium.
Such a great video and thank you for sharing views of the hotel room and the personal stories. Also… yay fellow hospitality worker ❤ (I do customer service for a hotel chain so I can definitely understand some of the feelings when a large company makes changes like this and it can be crushing because you work day in and day out with your coworkers helping guests and it feels like you lose a bit of what gets you up day to day 😢)
This was such a great video ❤

Of all the properties they could have sold the Mirage should have been on the bottom of their list. No matter her age, she is still breathtakingly beautiful and exudes class. She set the standard.
    Thank you Norma.

An extremely good video covering such a sad topic. I’ve stayed at Mirage 8 times over recent years. Missed your partner in crime Lydia, but I understand why you did this one alone. At least you had Richard for company. I’m not in your league but have seen Love 4 times…..best show in Vegas!! Loved Rhumbar!! Became friends w/ a server named Gaby. She was our must see person every visit. She made us feel like coming home. And I know this video was heartbreaking!! You didn’t even do bloopers!!☹️😫🥺

I have lovely memories of The Mirage. In 1988 I was 11 years old and visited Las Vegas 1st from London UK and saw the finishing touches upon its inauguration a year later. Came back in 1991 and saw the hotel in action was very impressed. I hoped 1 day to stay there. further visits were in 1996, 2012 and 2019. But got the opportunity to reside for 9 nights in September 2022. Absolutely loved it. Saw Love show and Matt Goss in 2019. So gutted that it's no more but will forever be remembered as a brilliant resort

I am going to miss the Mirage sooooo much! It was my very first hotel on my first trip there, my husband and I stayed there (and got upgraded to a penthouse suite) when we got married. We would come from Ohio every 3 months and always stay there. My favorite restaurants were Kokomo's, Onda, STACK, Caribe Cafe, Pantry, and CPK. I loved the pool and loved that hot tub because it was tucked away in the corner and most people didn't know it existed. Had many a frozen strawberry margarita there. And I miss my favorite Blackjack dealer, Mary Shelley, who was one of the founding employees until she retired right after the pandemic. I miss Mary! And of course I will miss the volcano very much. I remember taking my son when he was young and taking him to see Siegfried & Roy as well.

I love the pool scene at the Mirage. Stayed there 5 times in a row just to keep going back to it. I will miss it but hopefully Hard Rock makes it even better.

I just heard about the Mirage closing and I have never or will ever experience it. I watched the full 22 mins and that’s the most experience I’ll ever get. That outside bar looked so epic and nostalgic I’m sad I’ll never see it. Thanks for sharing the Mirage 😢

Thank you for sharing your history there. I'll add a layer of nostalgia to yours. I spent my honeymoon there in 1998. The Love show is the greatest show of any kind I have ever seen. I may have seen it 7 or 8 times over the years and will miss all of it dearly. Remember, if things lasted forever, we would never appreciate them as much in the moment. I hope you have and will continue to enjoy your time.

This was my first job in Las Vegas 31 years ago and many of my friends to this day are people I first met working there. I don't agree with the decision to rebrand and remake it but it's Seminole's company and they can do what they want with it. Farewell old friend, Mirage Las Vegas.
