i honestly feel so lucky to have the internet. people can discover things about themselves after persistent searching that just instantly click with their experience, and it's the most relieving thing in the world to be able to put a name to it, to know you're not alone, and to know their are solutions out there.

For the last two years vaginismus has been ruining my life. I've had amazing breakthrough followed by crushing setbacks. Every time I think I can have a normal marriage and kids it's like it flares up and gets worse. I know it's treatable but the way I feel right now is this thing I have is killing me inside.

I know the very real pain of vaginismus and the feelings of inadequacy it brings, but there is hope ladies. I suffered with this for years but now I’m able to enjoy passionate sex and I four beautiful children. It took effort and therapy and not giving up, but I enjoy the journey and came out the other end. Seek help. Don’t give up 💞💞

Vaginismus never took this much of my identity away. I never allowed it to but also because I am not that interested in having children. For me it has been PTSD that holds me back. I’m so proud of her for sharing her story. I’m almost cured. It’s very up and down. It comes and goes in waves. I did more work emotionally than I did physically or psychologically.
Vaginismus affects different women in different ways. Wishing you continued success on the way to a full recovery!

This is a real problem and it's so hard to get treatment. Even if you are referred for physical therapy it's hard to get the courage to go. We are told to be conservative, modest, ladylike, and getting treatment feels like the exact opposite of that.
Indeed, which is why the exact prevalence of vaginismus is so difficult to come by: most women (by our extensive statistics) do not tell anyone about their suffering with it!
Calcium makes muscle contract - Magnesium makes them relax. Try taking Magnesium Glycinate 665mg - 3 times day (not all forms of Magnesium are well absorbed)
Getting help is courageous- you need to be vulnerable and let your pain and fears show, but it’s necessary as part of your journey to recovery. You can be conservative and lady-like and still seek help. It doesn’t make you any less of a woman to have issues or seek help. Plus, I always reminded myself the people that I was seeing for treatment were professionals, and to them it wasn’t anything strange or unfamiliar that I was sharing with them. That helped me a lot as I disclose very private moments of intimacy and fears about my own life. Don’t give up! 🌸💝

My wife has this condition. We have been married for 25 years, and she would never talk about it, acknowledge it, or seek treatment when I found it for her. We have been married for 25 years, we basically live as roommates, we have no kids, and I feel miserable. I married her for better or worse, and our marital bed has been for the worse. If you have this problem, PLEASE be willing to discuss this with your significant other. If you cannot discuss it (and your significant other stays with you), you are absolutely killing another soul who eats to be one with you, and they (through all the pain of the situation) will stay with you. I am heartbroken over this situation, and I have to admit a lot of animosity over the situation, but I am still faithful to my wife.
So sorry to read of your sad journey. Not sure it would be comforting but, we've had other such vaginismus cases with the longest unconsummated marriage being 27 years, and one who was still a virgin after 26 years of marriage (and doing great in treatment). It would be so therapeutic to your wife if there is any way you can get her to watch our videos/read the website/open up, so she won't think she is the 'only one' with vaginismus, nor that she is doomed to live like this forever. I'm suffering from vaginismus for over 7 years. Is it normal that I don't want to try any more. I know what i need to do to cure that but ... for me "sex" could not exist. I don't feel anything :-(
This is a typical reaction by many women with vaginismus. It is hoped that you can explore other means of sexual intimacy beside vaginal intercourse, such as oral sex, manual sex, etc. There is no reason to be shutdown sexually because of vaginismus!

Maybe I've explained that in a wrong way. What I meant, from time to time I want to hug or kiss my husband but overall I don't feel that I need those things. Maybe it's very low libido or something, I don't know. .. I would like to mention that my period is very irregular. But my blood test results are fine. I don't know what to do , I don't know what to think. I feel like a loser. ..
Not an usual situation for a long-standing vaginismus. Hoping you can separate the condition from the rest of your sexual intimacy life and get back to enjoying it. And, of course, explore means to cure the vaginismus!

prostowoczy2 - Yes, in my experience I went through many highs and lows as I battled vaginismus for three years. At times I gave up because the fight was exhausting and took so much out of me, but in the and I didn’t give up. I was determined to fight it and beat it, and I did eventually. I was diagnosed 20 years ago and I’m great now. Don’t give up hope! Take breaks when you need to and give your body and mind rest when you need to, but don’t ever give up. The rewards are worth it!! 💝🌸

My marriage life ended up 8 years ago because of vaginismus.. I thought that I’m only woman had this problem. Just one month ago I knew that my problem called as vaginismus and have medical treatment for it…if any mothers read my comment “remember to educate your daughter about it “ it will be useful for their happy marriage life. 🙂

She was cured by us utilizing our specialized treatment methodology. As to self cure, try using dilators (can be purchased online) and see if you can sort this out.
Unless you personally have vaginismus, you have zero right to just say "try using dilators". That's not helpful from a psychological perspective. That's purely physical. Not everyone vaginismus is even physical. So dilators won't help with mental health.
