    You're talking about things that happened in mountainous Eastern Tennessee. Still do . It takes 9 hrs to drive across Tenn. Time zones and geology.
    The wilderness is towards the east in Tenn. Flatlands to the west. Bordered by the Mississippi river. Smokies are a very anchient mountain range. Full of folklore and oddity.
    Not a place for city folk come sundown. There's a reason we carry guns around here. Especially at night. My German Shepherd is always with me. The forest is only a few steps away at my place. I love it but I ain't no fool !

      @@clayxros576 Nah, the Foundation would have just found out what went wrong, then set off the base's self-destruct since all that was there was failed super soldier programs, not SCPs. Besides, they have enough trouble containing the monsters they already have, both the SPCs and their own people, no need to go making more.

    Cool thing about this story is that all the military jargon is correct. I’ve been in the army for about 3 years now and can confirm that all the military terms and words used in the story are actual abbreviations and slang the army will use in real life. The author must have done their research.

      You go deep enough in on foot the C.S. is still in power.. there are areas without electricity. Read about some contacts made back the 30's etc until they became violent and those contacts ceased. Not really paranormal though.

    I live in NC, almost a year ago my wife and I were talking in the living room when I felt a vibration and then heard what sounded like a Helo screaming past. It felt like it was 3 ft above my roof. You wouldnt have to fly over me if Benning or even Bragg was deploying to western Tenn, but they wouldn't be SF if everyone knew their patterns. They do run training scenarios here in the Mtns. Just interesting to see this was posted 7 months ago and it sparked that memory. Good stuff.

      @Kyle Adler There's a bigger franchise of books/audiobooks by Greig Beck, primarily of a Best of THE BEST Spec Ops Team, their leader is a Captain America-like Über-Soldier, and every part they fight different humans & primarily nasty monsters!
      Quite good military action-horror, which mostly tries hard to be more realistic/grounded/believable.
      There are several spin-offs, but the main one is "Alex Hunter - The Arcadian" (Part 1: Beneath the Dark Ice").
      Right now there are about 20 parts...

      Milan TN had an “accidental explosion” in 2019, down around the Milan Arsenal. People could hear the explosion from at least a couple miles away. Not a lot of info was given, but at least a couple people died. And there’s been several missing persons in the general area...

    Lived in the smokies for 5 years & learned VERY early on that if you’re going to visit someone up there then you better call ahead.     I spent many nights in Shiloh National Park. Maybe less than 100 yards from bloody pond. No ghosts, no aliens, nothing but graves, battle fields & monument. Ohh yeah the river. Anyway this is good entertainment.

      Oh God. Been to Reelfoot lake before and I pass Natchez Trace a lot. Always wanted to go in but every time I go by there it's because of something important and time sensitive so I never have the time. What's out there? (Other than the creepy looking trees of Reelfoot lake that remind me of Louisiana?)
