Done Kaza chandrataal manali road on Taigun 1.0MT . It performed exceptionally well. Very underated feature which is differential lock helped a lot in difficult situations. Switching off traction control at very difficult situations also helps. Without issue we crossed many water crossings. Even a force traveler was stuck in front of us but we done the circuit without an issue ❤ Those who know kaza chandrataal manali is much difficult than the road shown in video.
I've also done chadratal via Manali Batal stretch with my Seltos GT line and it also did well. Nothing touched, the underbody guard also helped as once a stone jumped from the tyre towards it, my friend is skeptical as his Kushaq doesn't have underbody protection. I will show him your comment to boost his confidence. Also, I didn't have to switch off tc or any differential lock is required for my journey. It was smooth sailing overall.
@SuyashKaul Good to know your experience. Differential lock in Taigun engage automatically. I felt it's use atleast twice when there was huge inclined and one wheel was in air for a while. It is Good to have differential lock in that kind of terrain it reduces chances of getting stuck to minimal. I am certain that in all front wheel drive cars of this segment, Taigun is most capable of offloading due to differential locks. About traction control, I felt that at very steep inclines when tyre tend to slip ECU reduces power and drops rpm to avoid slips I had to break at very inclined due to a bad driver then to start from that inclined car was not ready then I switched of traction control and it inclined without an issue.
@@rajandeepsinghbhullar4894 yeah, to start on an incline TC needs to be off but I managed everything by maintaining momentum pretty easily. On the topic of capability, no one can compare until and unless one experiences them back to back at this kind of terrain. Most reviewers say Elevate is the most capable and you can see Taigun stuck in this video, for a brief period of time so can't say with certainty which is best. Nonetheless all these are capable mainly if the driver knows what he's doing. I've covered this with my Ninja 650 as well which has 145mm of gc on paper so it's not a very big deal to me now. GV/Hyryder AWD should be best overall for this and beyond, if one is looking mainly for adventure
Great video as usual by the team. Last week I completed the Zanskar circuit in my Taigun 1L MT. The real challenge was when I started to descend from Shinkula pass towards Gombo Ranjan. It was fully off-road. I am glad my car performed very well.
@@ShubhamSinghwhatsup As per my exp AC performance is satisfactory in city and good in highways. However on the zanskar trip, we rarely used AC after Manali till Srinagar as the weather was very pleasant. Using AC in uphill puts load so you must keep the RPM on the higher side.
It's never the driving feel/quality with VWs/Skodas; it's the service. We get into it knowing these shortcomings, but still, the service is so bad we never dream of returning to this family again.
Owning 2 VW's, serviced in 2 different serviced service centers in two entirely separate states, no complaints till date. Cars work like new after 7 years too and service centers are more than helpful.
My polo car service experience in Hyderabad is worst.Too much labour charges on each and every parts . For example Just for vehicle inspection they charge 1500 rupees. Just for general service they charge 20 k .And most of the parts won’t be available.
@@kcmahaboobbasha7178 the problem is with the dealers here and the lack of demand(basically the volume of vw cars on the road). Just consider the amount of cars coming in a maruti service centre as compared to the vw one. Now with the wages of labour being fixed, the operation cost becomes higher for vw. Vw really needs cheaper cars to run in India so that more people can buy such cars. Else they will never be able to bring such costs down.
Truly amazing Journey brother 👊🏼❤️ I too completed this track from Bangalore - Srinagar - Ladakh - Bangalore in my VW Polo without a single trouble❤️😎 Truly VW builds durable and trustworthy cars❤️💪🏼👊🏼

That's awesome.. I just asked coz I faced this issue from the very beginning wen I bought the skoda 1 litre tsi and I'm from nagaland where the roads are not that great.. just recently the company replaced the steering rack and now it's solved but I'm little sceptical whether it will last or not.. just hoping not to face the same issue again..

After all this, VW is still the car for the people who enjoy driving, understand handling, build paint etc. Unless you get to a normal customer who knows nothing about driving, looks for Size/Road Presence, Features etc. -- you (VW) will continue to be a niche player. Sadly by the trajectory VW is going it is not enough to sustain in the market, and with the news of Skoda selling stake, sales will plummet even more drastically.
For most terrains you don't really need a AWD. With the right manner of driving FWDs can traverse through most trails and terrains. Ofcourse, it is always recommended to know the limitation of your vehicle
@roadsntracks Comfort wise Taigun is so small car and I see no major difference from hatchbacks...they should work on specious cabins instead sticking only on driving proportions to make thier sales up..
Creta provides gimick features which attract mass market if Volkswagen has committed very big blunder to place this car on creta segment they could have place this car in breeza only it could have sell the poor strategy of Volkswagen ruined taigun just look at sales of virtus slavia why they are selling inspite of no demand of sedan in Indian market the company themselves are responsible not to putt efforts attract customers the car which will not attract customer no will buy
@@evoIndia Creta has bigger size than Taigun and more gimmick features. Also perception of VW after sales service is not good. It also offers diesel. People think that 1.0 TSI is underpowered due to only 1,000 cc and 3 cylinders. Hyundai sales team also say that 1.0 TSI is bad engine due to small size
Let VW provide just 3 features like panoramic sunroof, 360 camera, electronic parking brake in the Taigun..and watch how more people will buy these machines.

Why are all these videos being released after the news of VW leaving India was announced?🤔
We haven't heard of any news saying VW is leaving India
I just wonder whether there was steering rack issue aftr crossing the treacherous passes..
No there wasn't any

No problems as such
Are you running on stock tyres or changed to any specific type?
Stock tyres were used.
How much did he experience cost? Also do you need to be a VW owner for participating?
You don't have to be a VW owner only to participate. For prices and more details we suggest checking out their website
What's the story with VW? Read news they are looking for partners.. will they survive? Such amazing cars..
Of course they will survive. Looking for partners isn't a bad thing. Plus you can see our latest podcast with VW brand head where he answers all this

At 8:20 mins he got stuck and at 8:44 mins he risked getting the car damaged.. just take an AWD and save time and avoid risks.
For any car, it's ideal to do things within it's known capabilities to keep yourself and the car safe. It was taken care of here as well
Jimny is more practical😊. Taigun with 1ltr engine, also in this segment, at such locations is really unreliable.
