Community manager who reads these comments, I hope you're having a good day. A lot of goodwill seems to have been earned back by CA's willingness to actually listen and make changes, and if that can be kept up for future DLCs (as promised in that blog post listing minimum standards for DLC) then this may just come out as a win for the company. You're through the worst of it, from an outside perspective.

Redemption arc is an overstatement, this took them 6 months and is still not close to a faction DLC content wise. Also no faction reworks. This game is improving at a glacial pace.

@@pugglythegrey nah i would rather they spend time on adding more stuff and making the AI better and expanding IE. Adding hotseat mode would be a huge waste of time. You can just organise your own multiplayer game.....

To improve teh AI would be a lengthy and expensive task, and CA doesn’t has teh personnel wif teh necessary expertise as of now, so deh would also need to hire more personnel to get it done.

I previously said some of these units looked like clear reskins. I take that back, I can clearly see a lot of work went into their animations, particularly Saytang and the frost wyrm
Unfortunately a lot of the trolls won't retract their statements because their huge egos get in the way and now they're so deep into hating the game and the devs that it has practically become their personality.
Yeah the thing is if you already have a working model or animation skeleton from something similar why not use it? Like I can see where some of these already was but it dose not take anything away from the game in my opinion.
@@linuskilbrandtliden3288 Reused skeletons is fine. Reused animations are often very obvious and lazy. If Saytang had just been a terracotta sentinel with a bone giant moveset, which was what it seemed like, that would have been very disappointing.

Except a chunk of the new units are still reskins and while they have added a new animation here and there. It still fundamentally are overlaps with existing stuff. Which is fine for some stuff. For others it can be a little silly how they barely moved the needle with them. Like why do the kislev warriors have chaos warrior great weapon animations and move like them? Why is the chaos lord just a disc rider with a new coat of paint? Idk some people again might find some of these units meet the threshold others I find they could've done way more.

I'm glad they are moving the DLC to somewhere it should have been at launch, but I'm still saddened by the lack of campaign changes to the three factions, especially Kislev and Tzeentch. Still, I'm looking forward to playing again, hopefully, we get some campaign changes to TOD
Yesh, especially if one of dos campaign changes is Hotseat mode. 🐶
The framework is set, campaign changes can be made in the future once things have settled some.
Tzeentch needs so much work. I like the units, but there's just so much he needs right now and it has nothing to do with his roster

Not sure what you’re talking about, I just got the DLC and Changeling is one of the most fun campaigns I’ve played in a while

First off, happy belated birthday to TWW3 which turned 2 years old 5 days ago. Next, thank you for this update. I'm downloading it as I type this; definitely looking forward to getting in and trying all the new goodies. This update was the right thing to do and I'm keen on seeing what comes next for my favorite game ❤

Hold on there, its not the first time CA was caught red-handed, fixed their ways and then returned to them months later. Don't be fooled again. We have to make them work for years now to regain our trust again.

Yeah, dis update looks pretty good, the changes to lizardmen are especially cool, but I’m still hopin’ deh are gonna gib us Hotseat mode some time soon. 🐶

For a 25€ dlc, i'm expecting the perfection, like real reworks for kislev and Tzeentch campaign and Soc legendary lords: Yuan bo campaign too calm in Lustria + he's broken, Ostankya should not be in Nagaroth and should not use units other than from her dark forests (until confederation witj a kislev faction for exemple)+ her mechanich a little too broken
And remake the changeling campaign: boring tp campaign instead of actively making a mess with faction relations by taking other faction's appearance

And it looks like they did, now this DLC has the quality we want. These new units look fantastic, especially Watcher, what a great look.

Awesome additions. I just noticed a tiny miss that really bugs me, and I wish could be addressed in a future patch. I get that MP needs to be balanced out, which is why Katarin lost her Ice Shard bound spell and gained a Summon, but campaign Katarin should really have both, as she is now the only Ice spellcaster that lacks it completely. It would be such a great combo with her new fast Ice Sled.

The current attitude from the devs/community team at CA is a very nice improvement to see.
Gate master's helmet looks like a Queen bee... I don't recall our helmets have such twin hair style.

To the fans: remember the power we have over these corps if they decide they want to screw us again. Not just CA, but all developers.
They need us more than we need them. This isn't a CA success story, it's the *start* of their redemption arc. This is the bare minimum.
Don't forget how they were willing to treat us and their original response to this situation, otherwise it's just a matter of time before they try again...
The animation of the Druzhina wetting his finger to check where the wind is coming from is great. 3:52 But the fact that she's wearing gloves spoils it slightly.
And the gate master putting away his sword and shield to take out the crossbow 1:08 . Another small detail that improves the game. Although we hardly notice the human-sized troops when playing, it is nice that some attention to detail is maintained.

ok ok, now i would say it is absolutely worth the price, god who made the animations for the frost wyrm and the terracota archer?! (maybe i think the kislevite warriors look a bit cartoonish, but that is far from a compaint, just a little detail that means close to nothing, great work guys)
Btw i really enjoyed the video format and camera choices, feels like it puts more weight into what is happening on screen

as someone who owns the first Total War Warhammer, yet had followed the other 2 since they came out. i love the games, and thanks to my father i'll be playing Warhammer 3 soon. I do hope you and all the staff at CA continue to improve, and while i know GamesWorkshop doesn't allow a lot i do hope you continue to make this series greater with each DLC. Wishing you and all who work alongside you the best.
A decent amount of weight added to the DLC. Was the "Changeling can practically never loose" issue addressed somewhere?
Because Kislev now has TWO lores that only they have access to (lore of ice + lore of hags) I think TW should make lore of ice accessible to Norsca as well

For future work please consider Norsca, they have a fun campaign but need love. Surtha Ek and his chariot loots the love of the fans.
I like the effort CA. Hopefully this will carry on throughout future releases. We as fans want to see this game develop, evolve and improve over the years and will gladly support your efforts as long as you charge us a reasonable price for it. We don't want you to fail, but at the same time you need to remember that we aren't walking wallets.
Upvoted. This is appreciated. I’ve bought every single piece of dlc for all three warhammer games at release. As well as other TW games (even Pharaoh once the price correction/adjustment). It’s nice CA is going this far to make amends with the community.

This is great progress. All us fans want is great content for a game that we love and have poured hundreds and thousands of hours into. I hope the devs and community managers see this and know that we appreciate the effort that has been put into this DLC. I'll definitely be buying it now.

For all the devs that worked hard to get this SoC update out, good work guys. The show of good will towards the community is well appreciated. While I will remain somewhat skeptical until I see what Thrones of Decay will contain, I am happy that the relations between CA and the community are slowly beginning to mend.

I applaud the hard work of the developers and creative teams who made all of this possible... Their teams need to be put in charge of DLC packages, not the executive(s) who made the decision to initially see "how far they could push it".
Thank you for listening to the player base rather than digging in your heels, there is still a LOT of content that can yet be made for TW:WH and by extension a lot of money that CA/SEGA can make from it, but you have to still treat your customers well enough to keep coming back to buy the next product.
Please keep up the good work, reward your creative teams, and content yourselves with only one palatial mansion this year rather than three ~_^
Treat us as a community like this more often, and this game will go on for years like Stellaris and Crusader Kings
This patch did bring more positives than negatives this time so I won't complain. I'm fairly happy with Cathay. I totally forgot Yin aligned units get ranged focused buffs so even though the Crowmen should have always been Yin aligned, they were Yang because the Yin buff is LITERALLY USELESS for them but I forgot and have been harping on about Crowmen needing to be Yin aligned so..... Oops. CA need to fix that in the future but I guess we're just gonna have to deal with them having a useless buff for a long time.
But hey! At least they got 20% physical resistance, fear & magic attack which is what they were sorely missing before. Also, they can now finally work well with Longma Riders & Jade Lancers as well as the new Celestial Lion which is quite cool.
i don't want to see a mistake like this again but for now CA has regained some trust , to the future of Total War!

Cathayan giant doesn't leap as you made it sound like. We did not get proper race mechanic reworks as you have mentioned in roadmap. Overall it seems all we got are fancy units(Which modders does that already) And we still not get critical fixes like units using ladder when the gates are open and guns not shooting properly. I am not happy with the patch.

I've play total war since i was 12, i am now 24, i appreciate all the work your company is doing and how your trying to produce the best games whilst the people on top of you are trying ti get money, show them that quality games rack in cash so you have a leg to stand on when u tell them to f*ck off, now tell them to make a 40k total war and take years to do it for all our sakes

The work put in brings this dlc to complete value. Saytang the Watcher and Naryska Leysa, The Golden Knight, are gorgeous, beholding!!!!
However, I am critical of "Madness of Khaine" taken away from Witch Elves. That is a nerf since Madness of Khaine also debuffs melee defence in addition to rampage, better than what Witch brew temporarily gives once. Their unique contact effect helps more than poison can. Sisters of Slaughter have poison attacks as is.
Put Madness of Khaine back on Witch Elves. It is better than poison attacks. No one asked you to change them.

This update to SoC is beyond welcome, but it should be known that this is what is expected not the exception. Keep doing what you have been doing these last few weeks and we can move on from the nightmare.

mechanics are already good, Ostankia is SOOOOOO fun to play even for the Changelin (sry don't know the name in english) , just buy it and play it yourself and do your own opinion, it's definitly worth it, the only problem for me was the lack of units and heros, and they fixed it, mechanics are really cool tho (i didn't tried Cathay cause i don't like them)
