Mysda! I just watched your quarry video the other day. It's really really neat, I've been looking at adapting it to remove liquid source blocks as well so it can be used for perimeters, as anything truly automatic is better than something manual, and yours is much more automatible. Plus it collects items which stops game and server crashes (which I've now experienced a lot of...)
I believe stopping and starting it quickly could be the solution using the winch, but I very much need to play around with it more. The other issue is when the item count gets too high it can also cause game crashes due to the amount of data. Do you know any good ways to dispose of items on a contraption?

Mad props for possibly the best citations I've ever seen in a minecraft video. Even including the thumbnail and channel icon. It could only be better if there was a way to make that part of the frame clickable (since the friction of going to the description drastically kills CTR). Still, as-is I think this is the best chance a viewer will click through to the creators you credited. You deserve a subscription for that alone!

2:30 learned this the hard way, build this contraption on the north-south axis, otherwise the deployers will place the rails on the wrong direction and mess everything up. It is also useful to use a button/lever instead of a redstone block if you want better control over the machine. Also, if you add a seat to the contraption, you'll pick up the items on the ground automatically (tested on 1.19.2) I just couldn't figure out none of the rails and assemblers flew away, the funnel missed a few of them, and that adds up depending on how much you wanna mine.
So I’m trying to build this and it moves forward 1 block but then instantly breaks. Any idea what could be causing this? I’m not sure I’m gluing the right blocks. What needs to be glued?

Cool world eater I bet with mods, that have flat bed rock generation and some large item sweeps you can get thousands of blocks correction millions of blocks in a very short period of time
yeah the current modpack I'm using has both whichll make perimeters especially a lot easier. Backpacks can actually use their upgrades even when placed down im pretty sure so moving the backpacks along with the making is perfect. 😊

I had this idea for qiite a while now,but never got around to building it. If the lag bothers you, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to do some prepwork beforehand, just like we do on vanilla world eaters. Using a drill you could dig the underside of the desired area,and then fill it with lava, or even an item collection system if it suits you.
We JUST used a method involving minecart contraptions to remove a 21 x 21 x 23 area for infinite lava. Though it involved oh so much math due to the constraints for gluing. We essentially cut out 2048 sized chunks one at a time lmao . This seems way more efficient and quick so thanks :D
i just started tryna come up with a design like this today because i need to remove 301x301 to bedrock luckily u came up with it for me lol saves me alot of testing i was gonna test turning the contraption on and off with redstone somehow thats the part i didnt know yet
a more early-game survival friendly method; use radial chassis with max sticking range so you don’t have to glue the underground directly (also makes a great circle bore)
Best quarry in create. Also a bit “cheaty” i know its intended feature and I will be using it myself. But it would be amazing to see someone pull off some sort of world eater like in vanilla survival that removes blocks and liquids.
I think can turn this in a proper quarry with coletion of the items by simply placing a row of brass funnels and barrels to the crontraption at the bottom of the selected area used to destroy the blocks.
give it a tail about 3-5 blocks out, spread the tip the width of the machine, and use funnels to gather the drop's, then use brass funnels set to ejject entire stacks only, and filter them the blocks you dont want to keep, add an ejection port, and make room in your base to put it down, to unload, viola, portable quarry hahahaha
every time i try and replicate the continuous one at 2:29 it goes forward a bit but some blocks get missed, moved around, and it does not do what is seen in the vid. i kinda had to guess what the deployers were using so some clarification would be nice
Ah, I didn't realise when I made this video but that machine only works when facing north. (I got lucky when I made it here). If you rebuild it facing north and have three deployers, first one placing blocks, second one controller rails and last one cart contractions
@@proplayerplayz It's like that because rails default to being placed north, so if it tries to run in a different direction the rails will be facing the wrong way. I imagine there is and people in my discord have tried to get it working with automatic wrenching etc. not sure how far that's come

I'm not sure if I'm dumb or not, but I can't get the automatic-rail one to work for me. Cause when it places down the new cart assembler it doesn't have lock rotation on making it so that it just ends up turning around repeatedly instead of going forwards. Funny to watch it dance for a few seconds, then its just annoying. So is anybody else having this problem or is just me?
very cool. you should try running a server and using it for single player, it helped some of my lag issues, and made it so stuff would run full speed even if my client was having fps drops.
Problem with separating the server and client is machines like that if they pick up too many entities (like some other contraptions in my world) is it can actually chunk ban a player or even worse if you actually pick up an item with too much nbt data you basically have to reset your player data. For this one for sure it basically doubles the processing power. Difficult balance 🤷♂️
You could probably just add another wall in behind it full of funnels, but that would be hideously expensive. The only alternative I can think of would be trying to get them to fall down to a single line of chutes/funnels, but I’m not sure how well that would work with the constant swapping between contraption and normal block.
Based on the extreme potential for lag i believe the brass and andesite funnels (the one you place next to belt that act like sideways hopper not sure of name) should be added on bottom of contraption and if possible every layer which would make it more expensive but lot faster because of no lag even on bigger scale another requirement would be chest and seeing how desparetly this needs a way of collecting the dropped blocks… yes maybe at bottom putting multiple lines would be sufficient and cheaper but lag before all entities fall down or lava on sides could destroy it all If you play in modpack i guess setting up down a vacuum hopper style thing or just many hoppers from the iron you get should be no problem with some mod to help place it all (not sure if create can place hoppers in correct direction and if hoppers would be enough probably not enough)
If you want to destroy items Does placing lava with the pump works?i remember someone doing something like that but i can't remember what or how (Kinda wish create was for 1.12.2 filling huge holes with water with proper way to place instead of having many fluid placers from actually additions would be nice (they are lot better than buckets especially with quark and funky locomotion installed Luckily i found out how to do similar with psi but using it to fill up caves will still be slow)

i can confirm this doesn't work anymore, as the contraption keeps turning 180 degrees non stop. It places the cart assembler in the opposite direction for some unknown reason.
ngl, I feel like create would better off getting rid of minecart contraptions, they are so incredibly broken in every way imaginable, that is kinda ruins doing it "right"

You could technically do this over a flat plane of conveyor belts that lead into a storage system but you’d have to do that every time

Yeah lava, I used the fluid pumps which can spread very far but very slowly

yes! But dont expect a 100% non burn rate, as although it removes source blocks sometimes it can still get caught.

if it could automatically pick up items, it would be really op, but right now it seems pretty impractical.
You could build a hopper system below it before you activate it.
So not mutch of a automatic quarry but more of a automatic block to item entity converter
