Isn't the purpose of duel rev counters to make it more easy be able to see what your revs are when hanging off of either side of the bike when cornering?
@@ehiggins7476 I have ridden both, and I own a KTM currently (a 1290 Super Adventure S, but I want to go lighter). The 990 was very good and very impressive (but not at all a mini Super Duke, in my opinion). At the same price point, the comparison would be very tight, with a KTM sportier overall, more precise and most certainly more of a weapon for the twisties, or very fast riding. BUT the pricing of the 990 is insane (I mean 4000 € more insane, even with the Tech Pack offered these days in Europe). The MT-09 that I tested was truly enjoyable and very lively. I’m looking at the MT09 and the KTM 990. Both would meet my wants and needs. The KTM 990 looks great in reviews but it is a KTM and I personally know several riders who have missed major portions of the riding season with their KTM bike in the shop for extended periods of time. There is nothing cool about that. The 990 is an all new bike. The vast majority of it is changed from previous models and KTM makes a point of that. KTM990, "a little bit more expensive"? Try list price of $12,500USD vs MT09 at $10,599USD. IDK, that's $2K right there. Where is the quickshifter and tech controls...Ohhh free for 1500K (932miles )then you have to pay extra for the performance and track pack plus labor to program into your 990's brain. Hard to get any exact prices but I'm guessing you're looking at $1,100 to $1500 USD so yeah, try a little bit more expensive to the tune of $3000K + whilst the new MT09 gives you all of that at $10,599 (plus destination charge) which you also have to add to the 990 too but won't find unless you contact a KTM delear. I believe it's $575 for the MT09. So now comes the question; is the KTM990 Duke that much better?
