- The save theme. Composed by Michiru Ōshima. Ico is an action-adventure video game developed by Team Ico and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001 and 2002 in various regions. It was designed and directed by Fumito Ueda, who wanted to create a minimalist game around a "boy meets girl" concept. Originally planned for the PlayStation, Ico took approximately four years to develop. The team employed a "subtracting design" approach to reduce elements of gameplay that interfered with the game's setting and story in order to create a high level of immersion.
The protagonist is a young boy named Ico who was born with horns, which his village considers a bad omen. Warriors lock him away in an abandoned fortress. During his explorations of the fortress, Ico encounters Yorda, the daughter of the castle's Queen. The Queen plans to use Yorda's body to extend her own lifespan. Learning this, Ico seeks to escape the castle with Yorda, keeping her safe from the shadow-like creatures that attempt to draw her back. Throughout the game, the player controls Ico as he explores the castle, solves puzzles and assists Yorda across obstacles.
Ico introduced several design and technical elements, including a story told with minimal dialogue, bloom lighting, and key frame animation, that have influenced subsequent games...

I played this with my grandfather when i was really young, about 5ish. I haven't played it since I was around 10, but recently revisited it at the age of 25. The second I reached the first save point, the memories came rushing back. I'm listening to this now from my basement, and I just realized I happen to be wearing my late grandfather's coat!! I'm so thankful my grandpa showed me that video games are art, because of him I've gone on to experience so many moving narratives like this one, and I've also had a lot of fun.

I just looked up this video because my iphone wakeup alarm ”first rise” (found in Bedtime settings and songs there has different names in each local language) reminds me of Ico Save Theme

Reminds of when I was kid ,when the world still had magic and evil ,violence ,sadness,and hate where yet unknown to me. Innocents pure and simple,the air was sweet then and filled my chest with ease as I shouted and ran for the joy of being alive
Some of us lost it very early on. But it for sure offered an escapism and hope of slife to look up for. Even if your beginning wasnt happy, it s your future that makes difference.

@melvintheshark im late but where i grew up on the south south side of chicago was one of the most dangerous places to live in that time i would escape to my uncle’s house in the suburbs and play this hearing it reminds me of that time 20 years later

I rediscovered this song during a time when I was struggling with depression and conditions at my work were getting worse. One night I just listened to it and I broke down crying for the first time in years. I quit the next day.
I found out later that I had entered autistic burnout. My wife helped me so much through my difficult time, but one thing we did end up doing was play this game co-op. Every time we sat down to save, I took comfort knowing I have her. We got the watermelon ending. It was wonderful.

My goodness gracious. What a beautiful track. I have played Shadow of The Colossus for years but never Ico and when I heard this track the first time I went to save I just sat there listening to it for a few minutes. A absolutely fantastic save theme and even just theme in general. I am looking forward to playing and completing Ico. Just played it for the first time two days ago :)

Two of the games I loved as a child. Unfortunately I don’t think gaming will ever return to the glory and innovation of this era. I miss this time of gaming and even this period of life

But Cassie is doing great. She’s grown quite a bit, still a playful little girl. Though she’s only playful at her home, but when she visits others she gets scared, but she’s still a little bundle of joy!
And now my aunt has adopted her a new little sister named Callie, and she’s still a new born maltipoo!

И тут же рядом: 2020, хтоническая мощь Last Guardian; за окном закат в горизонт, а в комнате на огромном экране - душераздерающая концовка, и Трику падает в пропасть... и в последний момент взлетает...
А я вот только недавно смог поиграть на ps2 на ламповом телевизоре) но ощущения великолепные.

I played this game in the summer before high school, 20 years ago, many child friends moved away and others started working, and I played with my ps2 all summer long, this game included. Everything was good then
I recall many memories in this touching moment. I played the game for the second time after 12 years, and I miss it. I was very happy when I recalled the feelings when I played it for the second time.

Cara, realmente vale muito a pena jogar esse jogo, valeu cara segundo jogando e zerando ele, eu sempre jogava na minha infância mas nunca zerava porquê achava difícil. Aí o leitor do meu PS2 estragou, então instalei um programa que lê jogos de pendrive no memorycard, e comprei um pendrive de 64GB e instalei ICO e mais dezenove jogos nele, aí pude zerar ele pela primeira vez. Foi uma das melhores sensações que senti na minha vida, eu interpretei a historia depois que completei o jogo e realmente é incrível o jogo, os gráficos, personagens e principalmente a ambientação e músicas e sons. Recomendo fortemente a jogar. Não desperdice essa chance novamente, se for o caro. Boa tarde.
