I'm so proud that I spent my childhood playing this series in the 2000s. Ahhh RE4...it gave me a perfect childhood. this sound reminds me of happy, calm and peaceful times.
Interesting fact: The original track was made by a musician called David Torn! It seems that despite his effort to stop his music from being used by everyone, most of the music he made when he was younger was stolen and used in a ton of different games; RE4, Silent Hill, Monster Hunter, Portal, etc. *And no one credited him!! He made so many songs that we all remember but none of us know about him!!* Sorry for the spam/repost if you already read this, it's just that I feel really bad for him... He made music that I will remember until the day I die and was not credited for it :/
This particular music by David Torn isn't credited, but likely because he made a sample/loop collection (this track being on it) for it to be used by others. Also the album itself is impossible to find. HOWEVER, he is a very successful musician, just look at his spotify about section and you'll see a large body of work and that he's worked with some top film composers. I don't believe he made this when he was young.
He definitely should be recognized for his contributions to gaming, but a quick look at his wikipedia page shows that he is an incredibly successful musician who has worked on countless top level films, along with working on multiple albums from David fucking Bowie, so it's not like he is some obscure artist who hasn't gotten any recognition for his works.

Everything is so dirty, ancient, and old school I love it too ahaha. They put a lot of emphasis on the woods, crows, the chainsaw guy, the sorrow of the villagers, etc. Incredible.
Can probably never return to the OG RE4. Used to play it all the time as my cousins watched. Must've had at least 10+ playthroughs on one save, all on my Wii (it was the GC version though), and they sat through pretty much most of those playthroughs. They're both still around, not gone or anything, but the emotions I get just from listening to this and thinking of those summer nights when they would visit and watch me play is too much. We've all grown up. Moved on. I moved across the country. Life stuff, y'know? Ah well. Best not to get trapped in the past. I just don't think I could play the OG without feeling sad.
I know exactly what you mean...there are some places you just can't go back to, some boxes that can't be re-opened, it's spent... ''This place once echoed with conversations of friends and lovers. No longer.''

I certainly appreciate your time for this comment. Thank you for the kind words. Didn't think this would be a big deal, but it looks like people love it. Glad you enjoy it.
I genuinely believe that no other game will top Resident Evil 4 as being my favorite video game ever. There have been some amazing games that I’ve played in my lifetime, but none have come close to achieving that magic that RE4 provided me with.
This game is so beautiful. I love it so much. It makes me so happy & yet so sad at the same time, just makes me remember my childhood, the days when life was easy.
... I love it so much It was just my mom, sister and I growing up, but my mom's bf played this with me when I was 9 or 10. He was kinda the first male role model I ever had. We were both hella scared of it, but managed to get to the blind wolverine guy in the cell, when they broke up. A few years later, I saw RE4 lyin around my ps2 and the first thing I thought to myself was, "my time has come". We may be mortal, but the feelings and experiences we go through are immortal; and things like this can show us the way when it all seems too much to bear. The familiarity- the comfort- the nostalgia, not even physical, yet it's the realest thing out there. Thanks for reading, I'm just glad to be a part of that so deeply with this game. It was the first thing I really saw through to the end. The fire must live on. If that wasn't enough, it brought me to best boi Leon c: RE4 #1 forever
I used to listen to RE4 music with rain like this video when I was a kid at night to fall asleep, now that I'm older and the RE4 REmake has been announced I had to listen to this and I can't wait to play RE4 again as this game means so much to me ❤️.
Hearing this takes me back to my childhood where my family used to get along and lived in an apartment and I didn't have to worry about nothing now at 22 years old life hasn't been so kind I'm barley making it through college all my so called friends are gone parents are divorced idk how I get through it in life sometimes but this theme from resident evil 4 just takes me back to the good times growing up sucks
This was a gift from the universe to help us with our hard/inbetween moments... this song helps me empitomize nostalgia and how life felt before the internet somehow>>> 💜🖤💫
Just remembering the moments that i played this masterpiece when i was a child at my uncle's house, he had a ps2. I am just crying now, it was the best days from my entire life. I love Resident Evil 4. It changed my whole life, ans it do have an especial place in my heart, also like finished the games uncountablle times. Serenity is a song that touch my soul, i never feel alone when listening to it. And now here i am, grinding and in pain, but facing my destiny.

RE4 & Silent Hill games, as an adults. I can say they are not just a game of scary and jumpscares. But, they are bringing our psychology deeper and then someday in the future, we claim it as a memorable games with our memorable real lifes.

This song is special to me, whenever I was a kid playing this game, I would go to the merchant area near el gigante and hear this. This song is so comforting, like the comfort of a friend After a bad event, in fact, the merchant himself gives this idea of a friend.
even though i'm only 13 years old now and when i listen to these tracks or the saving game track, i get the feeling when i first played the game 3 years ago with my dad and my brother, Re4 reminds me of so much memories like the castle maze from salazar and the village and the island with krauzer and saddler. good times
I'm so glad I'm a 2000's dude. I miss these times. Edit: Haven't listened to this since before my high school graduation 5 or 6 months ago. It's really hitting hard now. The nostalgia is very strong. I miss the early 2000's. I want to go back to that time, and be a kid again... Edit 2: I keep finding myself being drawn to RE4. Especially this soundtrack. It's so soothing and peaceful. Makes me feel safe. Since the RE4 Remake was announced a few weeks ago, is anyone hyped for it? I sure am! If they don't keep Serenity then we should riot! They better not touch this beautiful soundtrack!!

I was born in 2011,but the original re4 still give me chills of nostalgia...a masterpiece clearly
Maybe this is why rainy days are my favorite :') I remember myself playing re4 as a kid in the rainy days :')
The atmosphere this game had was just purely sensational. One of a kind masterpiece.
and here goes the boat ride!
That boat ride was so tedious when you trade those fish for Pesetas XD
i keep coming back to this track because honestly its one of my favorites in videogame , it gives a lonely, otherworldly feeling to such a strange world, its a beautiful piece and the art and rain effect only makes it better ♡
I certainly appreciate your time for this comment. Thank you for the kind words. Didn't think this would be a big deal, but it looks like people love it. Glad you enjoy it.
god, i miss being 20 again back in the early 2000s, loved this game and all the other resident evil games
POV: You came to read the comments and are tearing up at just how much this song brings you back to the old days.
Didn't tear up at the song but at all the comments of people who shared at least a small part of the same childhood.
yes
... I love it so much
It was just my mom, sister and I growing up, but my mom's bf played this with me when I was 9 or 10.
If that wasn't enough, it brought me to best boi Leon c:
RE4 #1 forever
real
Awww this is so wholesome ❤
Never felt as safe as in that moment where i could hear this ambiance playing RE4
fun fact:
this sample is "burble and pine" pitched and this is also used in monster hunter freedom in the "serenity" or "beyond the fog" track
This song alone is already a warm and cozy place, with rain sounds it became almost a room
This was a gift from the universe to help us with our hard/inbetween moments... this song helps me empitomize nostalgia and how life felt before the internet somehow>>> 💜🖤💫
Indeed 🥲
Just remembering the moments that i played this masterpiece when i was a child at my uncle's house, he had a ps2. I am just crying now, it was the best days from my entire life. I love Resident Evil 4. It changed my whole life, ans it do have an especial place in my heart, also like finished the games uncountablle times. Serenity is a song that touch my soul, i never feel alone when listening to it. And now here i am, grinding and in pain, but facing my destiny.
i dont belive 😰 15 years😫 i feel safe and good when i listen to this track 😣😓😭😭😭😭
17!😿
Why are you crying
@@a-bovea-ve-rage How can you not honestly. :,(
The greatest video game I ever played. Nothing else to say about it.
What do you think about the remake?
One of the things that make you fell the nostalgia about something is a SOUNDTRACK.
Resident evil 4...
The good days are gone.
Gone.
The picture paired with the music just creates a shade of otherworldly nostalgia
The remake, while good as a whole, unfortunately failed to reinstall this extremely unique atmosphere
fr that’s why i had to change it to the og in the extra menu🤧 new music was good and all but it didn’t have me in the comment section like it does this one😭
RE4 & Silent Hill games, as an adults.
I can say they are not just a game of scary and jumpscares.
But, they are bringing our psychology deeper and then someday in the future, we claim it as a memorable games with our memorable real lifes.
Hard to believe Re4 turns 20 next year. Getting old sucks 😞
my favorite room in this whole game was inside the church after getting the key. i remember spending so much time in that church just letting this play
this game came out the same year i was born there is no greatest honor than that
Ah man, the nostalgia. I love this game. I used to play it on my PS2 with my cousin and man, the memories. Those were the best days.
My Alltime Favorite Game.
I will show it to my kid for sure.
A game that I will remember always. It was amazing
Fracasado
i swear to god this is one of the best game's ive ever played. I don't ever play horror games but something was just calling me to play this one
This song is special to me, whenever I was a kid playing this game, I would go to the merchant area near el gigante and hear this. This song is so comforting, like the comfort of a friend After a bad event, in fact, the merchant himself gives this idea of a friend.
even though i'm only 13 years old now and when i listen to these tracks or the saving game track, i get the feeling when i first played the game 3 years ago with my dad and my brother, Re4 reminds me of so much memories like the castle maze from salazar and the village and the island with krauzer and saddler. good times
cherish those memories
Great music from a masterpiece.
I agree, this song makes wonders. I listen to it almost everyday.
@@015cn me too
@@015cn this song makes me want to visit the village itself. Even though it doesn't exist :(
I'm so glad I'm a 2000's dude.
Sad 🥲😥
@@zikrix24 :'(
You ain't the only one mate. I'm 21 now and I miss playing this game on the ps2 as a kid :(

Me too friend. Me fucking too. :)
Nothing will top this games atmosphere. There's just something about the gray clouds and brown leaves next to those old looking houses in the village. This game was something special. It still is.
Made me want to live in that safe room. With a blanket and some hot tea and a book.
Greatest Nostalgic gaming memory ever. Playing this indoors on cold and foggy rainy nights here where I live. I used to put on a humidifier (cold mist) to make the atmosphere even more intense... those were the days
This brings back memories of feeling safe from the rain and enemies going to a warmly lit cabin, finding the merchant waiting for you to help you with your arsenal. This theme is one of the best.
This sound track soothes me. Bring me back to when I was just a kid playing video games and had nothing to worry about in life..
what I feel now is serenity 😢 it’s covering the pain
Resident Evil 4 is a national treasure
My childhood in one Instrumental.
So i glad i grew up with the old games and music
This music give a feeling in my heart its very weird like u feel sad and happy and nostalgia in the same time and rememeber every good thing you had.
Ahh i missed this game and also my sisters when we were play together after they live far from me 😔 I missed all the beautiful memories.💔
I'm really proud to be a game of this great, beautiful game and music reminds me of some beautiful memories 💔☹️
Watching this as my whole city is covered in mist and rain feels great!
😀 Hello Guys! Wow, it's been almost 3 and half years since I made this. 800 subs!!!? I am so grateful to all of you! :D. Thank you for all the kind words. If I do not reply to your comments, I am so sorry, there is so many that I cannot keep up! I love all of you! Thank you!

Denada :)
Great video 👍 👍
Awesome bro😭
Listening to this makes me very reflective, it gives me a feeling of peace, but at the same time loneliness, when I don't feel well, I go to bed and listen to this, and I start thinking about what is happening, until I fell asleep...
I was 8 when i first experienced this masterpiece.
It took me nearly 6 months to finish it .
What a journey.
Gaming was fun back then
Damn I can't believe I am 20 years old now, good old days on PS2 terrified by Regenerator makes me shit my pants
Lol I'm like you 20 yrs but I found him to be cute 😂😂💔💔

I listen to this while I study and it makes me wonder why I have to live a life where I repeat the same day everyday to eventually succeed
This masterpiece deserves more recognition!
I'm not kidding when I say that I felt like my life flashed before my very eyes when I pressed play on this.
So many memories flooding back all at once.
