- For as many versions of this song that are available, I could not find one that recreated the experience I consistently had in-game, that of arriving at a save point and leaving the game paused just to sit in the respite this lovely tune provides without silences in between.
So I went ahead and made one. Enjoy.

My girlfriend and I were playing Ico and when we took a break for a bit at a save point, she told for the first time that she loved me. This song reminds me of that moment.

It feels like death and birth, the small space of time before you fully wake, the exhale of a long sigh, the light of a sunrise before the sun. So ethereal and melodic, it's a nastogala that is tragically untouchable and unbearably hopeful.

completely agree. This song transports me to a place that I hadn't experienced personally. The great unknown of being a child. That nostalgic feel of discovery and adventure from our youth. Although I don't have an actually personally memory that comes to mind. It just feels too vague. Mysterious and distant, yet hopeful and bliss. Like our innocents as children. I believe this song represents all of our youth collectively, that is why I can't say it is my nostalgia specifically. It is the entity of nostalgia as a whole and as time passes it becomes more and more distant, yet always recognizable. It can give you anxiety or peace, it's just a matter of how you perceive it.

I listen to this for the first time in years. It felt like me now was opening the door to my old bedroom as a youth, watching me play the game and smiling. I want to keep this forever.
Its interesting how music and sound in games can sometimes be a bit of an afterthought, yet its one of the things in a game that is pretty much impervious to aging, unlike graphics and gameplay mechanics.

this song sticks out so strongly from the rest of the soundtrack. the rest is so brooding, dark, and eerie. then you just have this cheery, youthful, almost celebratory track that totally changes the mood. its masterful how they just change it up on you like this
The whole game is fantastic and I loved it beginning to end but I won't lie after exploring and fighting and climbing I was very excited seeing a save point to listen to this song for a few minutes before going back into the story

Played this at a school party a few weeks before graduation and I swear there was this atmosphere in the air I hadn't felt before and haven't felt since. It felt like time stopped. It's little moments like these that we hold onto for a long time.

Many years ago, when I first completed this game on the PS2, I paid about £25 for a Japanese import CD of the soundtrack, specifically for this music. When it arrived I discovered the track was only a minute and a half long. I was gutted. This upload heals that old wound, thank you.

I've never played Ico, but I always was a big fan of Shadow of the Colossus and the other Team Ico/ GenDesign games. I've been using this track for a while now as a background melody before falling asleep and I don't regret it.

Me and the love of my life would fall asleep to this when we lived together. He would come home exhausted from working in the kitchen and play this game or skyrim. It's such a happy reminder of the amazing times that hopefully we can build again

Whenever I hear this song, it makes me have hope for the future, no matter how beaten or tired I am. I wish for us, the people of this world, to share commonality and to take care of the world we call home. I know it's a far away dream, but one I know we can all get if we try. No dream is impossible, and no hope will dwindle as long as we carry each other, through thought and/ or compassion.

My heart!!!!!!!!! So many memories! Met my first girlfriend at Liverpool university and we would sit playing this game in the house. Just such amazing memories and happy times playing through this adventure as our adventure started. Wow!

I just finished Ico. Before this last time, something always stopped me; procrastination, boredom, errands... anything. This last time I was really committed to play it until the end and WOW... just WOW. Shadow of the Colossus feels like it has a wider range of emotions, and The Last Guardian has an special feeling because of Trico (I even cried with the end). However, Ico feels really intimate, personal. You really feel that you are that horned boy struggling with those eerie shadows. To me, is like that lack of expressiveness in the boy is what helps us get into him easier.
I just want to thank Fumito Ueda for creating these unforgettable experiences.

I bought this game in 2008 after being blown away by shadow of the colossus, which still stands as one of the five untouchable games in my life. traded in my entire xbox 360 games collection (which wasn't huge, but still) for a near-mint collector's edition of this game. I then played it, liked it, and forgot about this music for twelve years. now, after finally getting around to playing the last guardian and being pretty disappointed by it, I decided to go back to this game, and when I heard this music after sitting on the first save bench, in an instant I was awash in a sea of memory.
on the objective level, it's only sound waves hitting my ear, but on the conceptual level, there is nothing more profound than art. I love every being in this world. I hope you are happy. all the best.

Não consigo explicar o como fielmente acredito que os cenários de ICO e Shadow of the Colossus realmente existem em outra dimensão, em que realmente tem alguém lutando contra gigantes para salvar sua amada, e um casal preso em um mundo amaldiçoado lutando contra sombras sombrias. Didn’t get to experience this on the PS2 unfortunately, I always though the box art was trash but in a sense I did remember the game because of it. Out of curiosity and everyone raving about the game studio, I decided to dive into the game not really knowing much on my PS3. It was a strange feeling, just exploring the world of ICO, felt really dark and scary at times, but you find small areas of peace. You can just stand there and look at what the world had to offer even in its empty state. And then you have this song, really helped me appreciate video games as a medium, and so to access those memories of youth, I just play this song. So beautiful.

i often think of doing this with many songs from the games i enjoy, but lack the motivation. I wasn't even aware of this one until Kotaku made a short article about it. It is a very peaceful tune that i could fall asleep to.
I also often find extended songs that are put together awfully and don't connect correctly, like some versions of ff7 cosmo canyon music i've come across. so great job on making it seamless. if you ever find the time, i think it'd be great it you did this with more songs.
