    Thanks for linking me here man I appreciate it. This unit is a second hand purchase. I was able to get the rivet out of the old Tef tube and the gold piece out too. So I may do that with the new one, drill bit or sand the gold part of of the old hole and feed the new tef tube in then re attach the gold piece and rivet. We'll see what happens lol

    Question, i've got a breville if i turn it on it gets immediately hot. When i push the coffee button it's almost that i'm sitting in a sauna 😁. I've changed almost everything already instead the motherboard. Any idea?

      Might be something like this:
      siber-sonic.com/appliance/800Electrical.html#relayshort
      Or it may be the temperature sensor on the thermo-coil not reporting the right reading to the controller. That's how the temperature is controlled.

    Hello teacher, I have a problem with the espresso machine (capsule). The steam comes out densely before the water, and then the water comes out. What is the problem?

    • @The4Crawler
      @The4Crawler  15 днів тому

      I have not seen that issue before. Is that out of the hot water / steam valve? If so, the only thing I can think of is that the connections on the 2 micro switches on the valve have been swapped. One signals hot water position and the other signals steam position of the valve to tell the machine which way you have turned the valve.

    During my last 870XL repair, I accidentally cut into the silicone tubing when cutting the zip-tie that held the adapter for the water tank. Can you tell me the dimensions of this clear, high-temp silicone tubing used through this machine? I have to replace my solenoid valve assembly, so I thought I'd replace this tubing when I open the machine up for this repair. And, thank you for all of your repair videos on this machine. You've been a great resource!

      @The4Crawler  Місяць тому

      If you're talking about the hose to the hot water port, I haven't been able to remove mine either. Likely the end of the hose is stuck inside due to the same corrosion that I saw inside the hose barb I repaired. Maybe try injecting some descaling solution with a syringe and see if that helps to free it up.

      The water line I can’t get out is the little one that connects to the group head. I got the side out that connects to the solenoid (replaced that) and still no water from group head. I did inject some vinegar and used a paper clip to pick at some blockage that was in there! But still no luck after i tried the single cup again :/

      Follow the water:
      ua-cam.com/video/9lMw6ooiqPI/v-deo.html
      Likely the 3-port solenoid valve (on the right side) is either sticking, or not getting power. That lets water flow out the top to the hot water/steam valve all the time. See the other videos in the this playlist for replacing, testing and cleaning that valve.

    I think you linked to the square brass tube instead of the round one. Also is the loctite considered safe for this application? ie Will steam or heat cause compounds from it to leach into the water?
    Great repair by the way!

    • @The4Crawler
      @The4Crawler  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks, fixed the link to the current one for the round tube. You can get "food safe" retaining compound, I used what I had on hand. The temperature rating is good to 300F/150C, so way hotter than this application would get. I applied the compound to the outside of the tube in from the end so most of it should end up between the valve body and the tube. As this is the drain port of the valve, the only water that flows through here goes into the diffuser and out into the drain pan, not terribly concerned with any small trace of compound getting in there. Over time, the drain cycle should flush out anything remaining inside.

      It's not too hard, just take your time and don't force anything, especially when drilling out the hole in the valve. I used a handful of drill bits, working up one size at a time. All but the last bit was turned by hand.
      Also, if outside the US you would be looking for 5mm tubing and maybe a 6mm hose barb fitting.

    Hi, do you have any recommendations for removing the steam wand entirely? I am having an issue where water/steam leaks from the top of the steam wand... What’s the function of this pipe? I am investigating a leak from this valve. Noticed that this hole is totally blocked inside. Try to blow some air into it. Is it supposed to see the air run through and come out from somewhere else? I already disassembled the valve to test the metal piece only

    • @The4Crawler
      @The4Crawler  4 роки тому

      That port is the inlet to the manual valve. In the Stand By (middle) position, that port on the valve is routed to the diffuser and eventually to the drain tray. In Hot Water mode, air blown in should come out the hot water port and in Steam position, out the steam wand:

      @@The4Crawler the one blocked on my machine is the hose barb you replaced in the video. I watched your another video about water flow, seems like it shouldn't be a dead end. now the question is that where is the blocking spot inside. if it is a straight line facing to the outlet hole, I can simply drill through it. can you know anywhere I can but a replacement part for this valve?

    • @The4Crawler
      @The4Crawler  4 роки тому

      I ran a drill bit in as far as I could without drilling through the front side of the valve body, I started with a smaller bit and worked up until I hit the size drill bit that matched my tubing diameter, 3/16" in my case, 5mm would be a similar diameter for metric tubing. That valve is no longer available from what I can find looking on-line, link in the video description. You might try removing the one plate that holds the hot water hose in place to see if you can see inside the valve. On my machine, I can get one of the two screws loose, but the 2nd one seems to be stuck so I didn't want to force it and damage the valve any more.

    Hello , would you know if this whole unit can be replaced? I had similar problem and the port was clogged because the bras head from the hose got fused with the port , I drilled it out ant tried to replace the hose , but in the process I broke the part of the port that holds the pin clamp , I'm not very mechanically inclined to machine new parts so wanted to see if I can replace that module. Or if you have any other suggestions. Thank you

      It seems that valve may have been discontinued:
      www.ereplacementparts.com/selector-valve-assembly-p-1810370.html
      You could contact Breville with the p/n and see if they have any options. You could always bypass that valve by running the hose to diffuser/drain. That will eliminate the hot water/steam feature but still let you use the grinder and espresso features.

      A few things to try. First, be sure to use a short press as a long press on the 1 cup button makes it run for an extended time.
      If that's not the issue, try resetting the default volumes. From the user manual:
      "To reset the machine to the default 1 CUP and 2 CUP shot volumes, press and hold the PROGRAM button until the machine beeps three times. Release the PROGRAM button. The machine will return to its original default volume settings and default espresso water temperature"
      If that doesn't do it, might be worth contacting Breville support and see if they have any other troubleshooting information.

      It may be the problem is with the main controller board. All the buttons and solenoids are controlled by the main board. When you push the 1-cup button, that signal goes to the main board and then the solenoid is turned on for a period of time by the main board.
      Some other things to try is to unplug the machine for an hour or so and see if that gets it to reset and then you might try programming the 1-cup volume with the Program key following the instructions in the manual.

      Likely either one oof the solenoid vavles is not working right or is hooked up/plumbed incorrectly. Water should flow through the thermo-coil and water/steam should exit via the top of the 3-way valve to the hot water/steam valve:
      ua-cam.com/video/9lMw6ooiqPI/v-deo.html
      Maybe your valve is stuck open and is sending steam out the brewing head instead.
