Oh man, would I have loved to have one of these when I was 14, when you could ride one on the streets and the cops would look the other way. And it's a great little scoot for the dirt.

DwightMS1 i used to get away with riding a similar mini bike around town when i was that age.. good times. Later on i sold it to another kid who immediately fucked it up, took it apart, insisted it never ran (lie) and his a-hole parents made me buy it back missing parts and half together.

Moët 111 just an FYI.. some states will let you get a moped license at 14 or 15 and you can find a decent one for under $500. Some have a huge aftermarket support and you can find forums on the matter. They can come out pretty badass. In highschool, I had a Tomos that could hit almost 60.

Those little bikes take a beating from what I've seen. Dirt Every Day did a trail ride on a set of those loaded with gear. However I think they did say the clutch wears out fast. Good addition to the RBG!

Good review I got mine at Sam’s Club during the Black Friday/Holiday season when it was cheaper. 10 months later after lots of road riding and trail riding, it still runs and starts with no problems. The bike is great for first time riders (like myself after riding a go kart before). I’m sure it’s great for transportation seeing that it will fit in the back of my truck. Just great overall bikes for affordability and reliability.

We just put a torque converter on my friends Coleman, but we had to change the crankshaft because they sometimes have a 5/8 shaft instead of 3/4. My other friends Coleman had a 3/4 shaft and he's getting a torque converter to. Torque converters are must on this bike it makes the bike so much more fun.

We sell quite a number of these at out farm and ranch store. If you have a solid floor, it's a lot easier to just up-end the bike on its rear carrier to assemble. Also in changing the oil to put in the new oil into the fill hole.

I got this bike and here is some technical information for you. The factory Hisun engine used to have a 3/4 shaft but coleman switch later to a 5/8 shaft to allow a newer needle bearing designed clutch. Had lots of field issues with the original clutch design. Look at the last six digits of the vin number. If its between 000011 to 037961 then you have a 3/4 shaft. If it's 037962 or later it has the 5/8. I swapped the crankshaft to a GX200 clone crank and was able to get a TAV on it. There isn't a 5/8 shaft TAV available. Don't do like everyone else and predator swap it. I want to see the Hisun engine with upgrades. BTW didn't know you were Tennessean.

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 7 років тому +1

I completely agree. There have been no comments, anywhere, that this engine sucks. I would never buy a 212 when I could simply swap out the crank. These Hisuns are basically clones that are just as upgradable as a 212.

Your's clutch might be ok, if not, don't give up on too quick it if it starts squalling and locking. At first I disassembled mine and greased the inner bushing per someone's interweb advice (before discovering RBG) after which it still squalled and locked. Another site commended just oiling the shaft, with out removal. That worked. A couple of drops of 3-in-1 before riding does the trick. Rough ride? I'm running just under 8psi in the front and just under 4psi in the rear. I weight 200lbs and those pressures soften the ride pretty well for me. Keep up the good work, enjoy your site.

My Coleman clutch (16mm shaft) has never seen a single drop of oil and never will. The caged needle bearing in the clutch drum gets grease and has never made noise or locked. I didn't wait for issues, I serviced the clutch before the bike was ridden, among other things. If you have a bushing oil it, if you have a bearing grease it.

Just got this bike for 514 out the door at Camping World in Kenosha WI. They matched their in-store price down to their on-line price(how does that work?!) and in got $60 off for joining their club for a year, i think it was $90 off if you were a club member already. And then got another like 10-15% off from the cashier lady for some reason in her scan book. I think I’ve shopped at a Camping World at one time or another before, so maybe something showed up with email after I signed up for their member ship. Can’t guarantee the last 10% for everyone but, go online, find one in stock at the closest Camping World, then just show up and they’ll price match.

I just ordered one of these (Sunday), expecting to see it arrive Wednesday.
I'm intending to use it to get me from the road across the field to where my tree stand is for deer this fall.
I'm also planning on using a game sled to drag behind it to get my deer back across that field and to my car.

      Thanks for the reply, Red.
I'll try and remember to post back on here about my experience with using it after deer season.
Having a minibike should only add to the fun I'll already be getting with hunting.
btw...I also have a red beard, although not nearly as cool a beard (sadly, a bit of gray is creeping into it at the bottom middle) as yours.

Letting you know that I just now put my new CT200U together and took it out for its first spin.
It started on the first pull, and I was amazed at how well it accelerates, even though I'm admittedly not a cycle guy of any sort.
It did quite well at accelerating and response, even though I'm very big, 255lbs and 6'4".
I can't wait to take this little jewel across the field to and from my tree stand!
I'll report back on how it serves in that capacity.

I thought the same thing when the clutch came into full view. That you're much better off with a torque converter.

8:15 ~ When jacking the bike up on the wood, you could use the kick stand to secure it as well. It is probably a bit more sturdy.

Looking at getting a couple of these for me and my kiddos. After looking at specs I noticed weight capacity is rated at 200 lbs. for the kids this is absolutely no issue, me on the other hand I’m pushing 220 lbs. Can you tell me if that is accurate?

It's a good thing you checked that directional arrow on that tire, otherwise you set up an unstable rotational vibration convergence. The result of which could cause a condition known as Dirt Torpedo. The first sign of this is when you say OHSHITOHSHITOHSHIT.

What a great little bike! But did you need the three boards underneath? Plus it would have made more sense to get the front wheel out from underneath, then use the boards to help the assembled the front end. But nice job regardless! I Remember in the late 60's early 70's in my mini bike days, I had a basic Fox with a3.5 hp B&S, that was fun but not very much power. My friend across the street had a bought new Sears mini bike, that had a 4 hp Tecumseh, with a jack shaft like on yours, but it had a two speed arrangement that really helped! Enough so he could leave a little rubber mark on cement when taking off!! It was also great climbing hills! It was actually quicker and faster than the Honda CL 70 in the day! I will subscribe to see the one you get with front suspension! I would like to see what they look like without those silly racks! That just add weight! I've found a back pack works just as well!

Looking for an opinion here. I live in a pretty urban environment, no dirt riding anywhere close (Fort Lauderdale, beach area) So all asphalt riding only. The little bike looks sooo much fun! (and that's coming from someone who sold a Vmax a few months ago, lol)
Do they make slick version tires at that size, for this bike? And is it safe to share a road with cars, as long as I'm keeping up with traffic? Drivers here are obnoxiously bad, and the fact that you're crouching down like that doesn't help with visibility. Any south Florida owners here can pitch in? I would avoid busy roads as much as feasible.
FYI - I'm posting this same question on other review vids, in case you've seen this before 😉

You should use conventional oil for proper engine break in , not synthetic
Switch to synthetic oil after engine break in ...
Engine does not wear in with synthetic......
