Thanks Driver ensure that the engine is revved to it's maximum potential. I'm part of the crew that works on the Gippsland Upgrade in Bunyip & Garfield and seeing how much of the single line will remain is extraordinary as to the dollar value spent.
Took me a little bit to realise that the three loud bangs a couple of points were detonators. Thank you for the ride so far. Changed a bit since I last rode to Traralgon :)
The former substation at Bunyip (16:07) was heritage listed along with the four stanchions over the tracks. The former substations at Tynong (8:14), Longwarry (23:17), Drouin (28:48), Yarragon, Moe and Morwell are also still there, mostly empty shells. Interesting arrangement with the end of the overhead re-extended as the replacement substation at Pakenham East is in the yard. Looks to be extendable further.
The trip through to Traralgon will be put up with the Bairnsdale section coming later. I am working on getting both directions out to the regional cities to start with as this is also a help to trainee drivers who want to brush up on their knowledge of the line whilst off duty.
2 questions, I thought in the electric days it was double track all the way to Warragul. second question, by the position you stopped a stations you had a 6 car velosity.
The short section of track from Bunyip to Longwarry has never been duplicated. The cost of s second bridge has always stopped this short section being duplicated. The train was a six car train 👍🙂
Nice and interesting cab ride, with sun and clouds. Nice pictures. Thank you for this video.
Thank you. Happy to hear you enjoyed it 😊

It would have been nice to build another bridge and double line right through but I'm sure the people in charge have their reasons 🤔👍
Yay

Yes, detonators protecting the work going on. The line has changed quite a bit over the years 🙂

Thank you 🙂 Glad you are enjoying them 😊
@@driver667 most welcome ! 🌹
You can see the stumps where the overhead poles were 😊
The overhead used to go right through to Traralgon. The bases are still mostly in place. 👍

I have ridden a comeng train to Warragul and back again in 1991😊
I may have been your driver back then. I was driving suburban trains at the time 🙂
Nice work. Have you got the rest of the trip to Bairnsdale?

Yes, it is 👍😊
I expect this train goes to Bairnsdale.
Yes this train is the Bairnsdale service.
Is this a temporary stopping all stations service as the normal Bairnsdale ran express past the smaller towns
@@davidnorton7464 this is the normal stopping pattern of the midday service to Bairnsdale.
