@@kotsios555 I think thats what Mike mew is trying to convey here. He is not the first either. Carbohydrates (complex sugar chains typically) sit in the pores of your teeth where bacteria then feeds on them and their resultant by product rots your teeth. Meat, if stuck, probably does worsen teeth health but I dont think its anywhere near the level of what sugars do. Not to mention all the negatives of carbs and sugars.

My teeth weren’t crooked and o did not have any cavities once I started eating what I liked to eat (I was a strange kid who started to make all my own food at 10-12 bc I didn’t like rice, pasta, bread, cereal and potatoes. I LOVED veggies beef and fresh fruit. But… I was a kid and therefore stupid, so four healthy teeth get pulled and braces were slapped on my face to deal with the ‘holes,’ caused by pulling those four teeth. Supposedly this was to allow me to keep my wisdom teeth, my teeth were way too big for my small mouth. After nearly three years of wearing braces (that I was only supposed to wear for 6-9 months) I pulled them off myself. I was fed up with metal in my mouth, shredding the insides of my cheeks. Not long after I developed an odd habit of ‘eating,’ my pencils. I don’t mean idly chewing I’m mean destroying 5-10 a day. I wanted to BITE hard all the time. Even my dentist noticed that my teeth seemed to be aligning better AFTER I ripped my braces out than before. To this day I don’t have cavities (44) but I’ve always wondered why my tongue was too big for my mouth? Now I know. I was a bottle baby and got my nose broken when I was young. I struggled to breath through my nose. Imagine all the money my father could have saved if he we knew about this.

I stopped brushing my teeth at the age of 10. didn't brush them a day for 17 years so far, no cavities, strong and white teeth. Fluoride will ruin your teeth.
Not everyone used miswak or toothpaste alternatives back then, it was definitely not the reason why they had no tooth decay. Tooth decay (and issues like tuberculosis or pain at birth) started with the new (american) stores selling sugar and other unhealthy food, as proven in Weston Price's book 'Nutrition and Physical Degeneration'. They also didn't eat bread with unnatural modified yeast and rye, which all contributes to why we need dentists at all - before these new foods arrived, dentists didn't exist, because they were not needed.
Why didn't you mention that miswake is akey element in our Islamic culture and that our prophet mohamed صلي الله عليه وسلم Used it and ordered us Muslims to use it Islam is the perfect and only right religion.

I've been staying in a Kenyan village for 3 weeks. Beautiful straight white teeth is the norm here. However, their diet is extremely low protein. Their staple food is ugali, which is cornmeal. They also don't chew on anything except sugarcane sometimes.
I don't find some of this argument entirely convincing. Many of our hunter/gatherer ancestors ate plenty of fruit, honey and tubers with varying degrees of frequency. Of course, not all carbohydrates are created equal. What about the role of vitamin K2 from an animal-rich diet? What about the role of malocclusion itself, from which our paleolithic ancestors were apparently spared? As an anecdote, I only have one somewhat crooked tooth (a wisdom tooth) and that is the only place where food gets lodged with any kind of consistency.
I wish you would stop painting things in absolute black-and-white terms. The idea that Paleolithic people and pre-contact Indigenous Americans had perfect teeth is an oversimplification. While their dental health may have been better in some aspects compared to modern populations (e.g., lower rates of caries due to lower carbohydrate consumption), they still faced numerous dental health challenges. The archaeological record provides ample evidence of dental diseases, wear, and other oral health issues in these ancient populations. Yes, in cultures that ate a lower carbohydrate-rich diet, occurrences of dental caries were often less than 1%, but remains from the Natufian culture (pre-agricultural) exhibit extensive dental wear and periodontal disease. Additionally, the introduction of maize agriculture in pre-contact Indigenous American populations, such as those from the Mississippian culture, coincided with significant increases in the prevalence of dental caries, abscesses, and tooth wear. It should also be noted that it was relatively uncommon for Paleolithic individuals to live past their early 40s, and the skeletal remains of those who did often show extensive dental wear. This wear, along with evidence of periodontal disease and tooth loss, contradicts the notion of perfect oral health in these ancient populations. I'm not saying that the overarching message is wrong, but when an individual misrepresents the facts like this, I instantly distrust anything that they say. It's unnecessary self-discreditation. You can get the point across without the hyperbole, and thus maintain your credibility.
Meat was hard to catch, their diets were mainly fruits and vegetables. Hunting was hard work and a skill, most hunters go days without catching anything. Fruits and vegetables is what makes up most of their diets, meat was a bonus. Meat is abundant today because we domesticate animals. In Europe only the rich could afford meat, potatoes and cabbage for the peasant. If you catch a deer you would get the death penalty. All deers belong to the king. Africa; meat was plentiful but hard to catch so most people eat vegetables. India; religious and difficulties catching meat makes them mostly vegetarians. China; mainly vegetarians.
LOL...All our dental problems, from tooth decay to crooked teeth, stem from consuming carbohydrates. If you eat only meat, you’ll experience no tooth decay or crooked teeth
Actually, there are proves our ancestors had some dental problems we have even 40 thousands years ago despite of living 30 years on average. They had teeth lined up alright, but they definitely had cavities and even ancient dental works. Anthropologists know about that

In Islam, toothpicks are used to clean teeth, they are called Miswak and it is very recommended in Islam to use them. Another “tool” that can be considered a practice that indirectly cleans teeth in Islam, is wudu’u which means ablution that happens at least five times a day. Wudu’u includes washing mouth 3 times, this practice also contributes to having good oral health and hygiene.

My dad grew up in Pakistan and still has straight, white teeth (and not a single filling) at the age of 85. Instead of a toothbrush, they chewed a stick called _miswak_ , which may contribute to this. Also, he's never had a sweet tooth - another possible factor.
Not eating sweets is definitely a big help for him. And like you said the chewing stick.

You may want to check Dr. Louise Humphrey's (research leader at the London Natural History Museum) study of 15.000 year old sets of teeth showing that even back then human suffered from tooth decay. @@kotsios555 start mewing
@@kotsios555exactly meat is the culprit rotting dead meat rots teeth.
Nope! Rotten meat rots your teeth.
As a kid I didn’t want braces.

12 different languages for the subtitles, even Urdu (with all due respect), and nothing for Italian. It's really true that we are a shitty people...
