just getting into bourbons , I have been a tequila sipper, but I am here now, this goes with a cigar for me so the flavors together are impacted, but in a tour of about the first 15 bourbons I have that were reccomended by friends and these YT channels, Jeffersons Reserve is just soooo great for me, another much different favorite so far is WT 101. Enjoying your channel

Daniel is wrong about thru-hikes. A thru hike is an end to end hike of a particular trail. What Daniel described is a "bushwhwack" hike. For instance, a thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail starts at either the Mexican in CA, or the Canadian border in WA. And you hike from the one point to the other on the trail, but if you have to detour you can.
Great history notes on this one too. And Daniel forgetting the mantra at the end.....priceless!
I loved what Rex said about whiskies that are really nice to drink, but can also be exploration whiskies if you put your attention to it. One of those for me is New Riff’s 6 Year Malted Rye. Would love to try this Jefferson’s

This is one of the first whiskeys I tried.
What was your opinion? I love a good bourbon occasionally but I’m more of a Japanese whisky guy. When I’m just trying to wipe the hard drive I’ll drink low quality gin. Whiskey is for enjoying though
@@jaweel6205 it’s pretty good. I’m working off a distant memory so take it with a grain of salt but it had a solid rye note to it and the oak came through really nice. Definitely would drink it again! One of my favorites of all time though is either wellers or the barrel proof makers mark. That I’m giving myself this next Christmas 🤣
Instead of Jefferson, it should have been named Franklin. As he was the man that helped whiskey get made in this country

A through hike is like hiking the AT (Appalachian Trial) in a year or typically less. There are many Long Trails in the US, the AT being the most popular @ 2190+ miles which runs from Georgia to Maine.
I've had Jefferson Twin Oak and It was really good. Recently, I bought a Jefferson Single Barrel Cask Strength Aged at Sea Voyage 27, and it's amazing

Jefferson’s wines are still around and they are outrageous expensive. Malcom Forbes just got stung for one that wasn’t shelved well. Book- the billionaires wine.
The politician that Teddy Roosevelt ended up hating so much was President Taft. Roosevelt endorsed Taft for the first election. He assumed Taft would do what Roosevelt told him to do but Taft decided to be his own man. This infuriated Roosevelt to the point that he decided to run against him for his second run, created the bull, moose party, and split the vote. This led to Woodrow Wilson becoming president. Apparently Roosevelt made Taft utterly miserable during his presidency.

I see you are going through the stuff you reference but never reviewed. Could you do Naked Grouse/Naked Malt (it goes by that name now at least here in europe, weird). I remember a short advent calendar episode of it, but not a review episode. Its the standard for blended malt whisky so it would be great to have that data point.
The same sentiment compared to Macallan you have with Jefferson, I have with Knockando.

There is no reason whatsoever to use a good whiskey if you’re going to dilute it by mixing it with soda so just use a cheap whiskey and save your money.
