Y’all need to get an eyedropper. To add water if you are going to do that. And it would be nice if you gave a distribution list to see where this is possibly available. In my area odd or rare don’t seem to get here often. And I’m not a online shopper for bourbon. At least not yet.
Glad to see more from compass box on this channel. I'm really hoping to see videos on the extinct blends quartet. I noticed you have ultramarine and delos on your shelf there👀
Trail Ridge road in Colorado is the scariest road I’ve ever been on. At one point you are driving 12,000 feet up with a dead drop off right next to you and if you go over the edge you would free fall for almost 2 miles before you hit anything.
I rented a Suzuki DR650 with street tires on it and absolutely ripped the road to Hana to shreds. Incredible experience. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Next time I want to try the road that loops up around northwest Maui too. If ya get the chance, DO IT!
The best way to do the road to Hana is to stay down there for a night or two. That way you can start a bit later in the day and avoid some traffic, and there are a couple of nice beaches down there that you wouldn't have time to enjoy if you have to do the return the same day.
Nice to see Compass Box using more Tomatin in their blends. Tomatin has really improved their product in recent years. This new Canvas blend sounds like another hit for CB!
The one time I drove the road to Hana, I was driving and was starting to get car sick. The speed at which the locals drove on that road was the really terrifying part.
Team, I feel like I have done whisky wrong 😂….I spent 12 years in Europe and started down the scotch road before my latest tasting with young bourbons…am I wrong to expect more flavors from bourbons or are they more vast in their notes as they age past 10 or 12 years? Thanks.
Bourbons really don't have a large range of flavor. I describe the bourbon range of flavor as if you are looking at a clock, the range is from about 10:30 to 1:30.. Not that big of a swing... Scotch on the other hand has a larger range of flavor, again, using a clock as reference, say from 9:00 to 3:00, a larger spread.. Thank goodness I enjoy bourbon, as well as Scotches, and rye, and rums, and tequila., and gins, as well as absinthe... It's all about the flavors..
Past 12 to 15 years, depending on many factors, I won't pay for that age statement, to me not worth it, and flavor is too woody for me,. There are many great bourbons with flavors I enjoy for under 40 bucks, and so many great bourbons under 100 bucks, most of which are less than 12 years. Several of my very favorites are around 35 bucks.
If y’all ever get ahold of Compass Box Vellichor please do a review! I wanna splurge on that but I’m hoping to see a review before I drop that kinda money
How important is it to read the tasting notes/blending notes of a whiskey before drinking it? Is it best to know what flavors you should be looking for before the first sip? Or is it better to go in blind, try to discern what you are tasting, and then check the notes and see how close you were? Side note: I would love to see a Whiskey Tribe ep where you give false tasting notes to v̶i̶c̶t̶i̶m̶s̶ volunteers, and see if they actually find those wrongs notes or if they just straight up call you out on your BS.
I feel it's like watching a trailer for a movie. Sometimes it can excite you for what's coming, and sometimes it may make you predisposed to see things there. It's really your personal preference whether you want to be prepped or go in blind
Great question! My personal approach is if it is something I "know" I want, meaning no research or without reading the label to decide if I even want to buy it, I will skip it and try it first. Then wait a couple days and try it again (I have a bad history with neck pours) after that 2nd try, then I will read the label. This approach is rare however, since 90% of the time I read a label before purchasing.
There are plenty of examples where they've been surprised at the accuracy of the tasting notes, and others where the blurb is obviously outsourced to some marketing company that doesn't know anything about the whiskey or the distiller/bottler.
A trip to Texas with my motorcycle to go on a ride with the MBs to a few of the Texas distilleries, is almost enough to get me to get Facebook. If it happens I'll have to figure out a way to stay in the loop without having Facebook or, and hear me out, switch to a better platform!
I love compass box. But there is another company called single note which have produced one of the best whiskies I've ever had. Single note Caol ila 3year, amazing. I'd love to see something from them on here.
10:30 Raymond E. Fiest in The Rift War Saga has a character with a ruck sack that is always empty but always full of fruit. He built a mini rift into a fruit warehouse. Your Harry guy reminds of that character
There is a fruit that is described as the most delicious fruit and the most expensive...the MANGOSTEEN! One of the reasons why it is so expensive is first it is delicious, but also it is can only be grown in hot climates and it goes bad very quickly. I challenge the Whiskey Vault/Whiskey Tribe to distill it!😌
Whiskey Tribe episode suggestion - get Cody or whatever his name is over at Modern Rogue to build an air gattling gun for shooting out whiskey minis. I'd watch the hell out of that.
DAMN, you guys keep causing me to overspend my “budget”…and NOW you wanna carry on about a ‘skooter’ ride to boot?!?!? (Just how far is it from Prescott, AZ to Austin, TX????)
"Gaussian blur in a Wes Anderson film" Best description yet.
This and last episode has convinced me to get a bottle of compass box.

Wow so good to see some cool new stuff and will look for Compass Box Canvas. Thanks again guys
I admit, I came to this channel for Banana, but Daniel and Rex stole my heart.
The descriptions are amazing!!

GOOD MORNING YOU MB'S.... 🥃
Happy Monday baby

Happy Monday Morning MB's, back the workday, post-vacation grind :)
you have my sympathy
Rex: "If this is your first video..." 3:31
Your first Whiskey Vault video: 1:20
$140ish a bottle is super expensive and rare to some people.
love those greased lens shots

The road to Hana is southeast Maui but we get you.
I wonder if he means the road over the top of West Maui. That one is, in my memory, much scarier than the Road to Hana.
Love CB but don’t have Canvas, yet. Drove half way to Hana and my wife said Stop! Had to turn around and drove the return trip at half speed. 😢

Second time I met John Glaser, I forgot who he was. It was a busy night.
Just add a bit of the California/Oregon coast on a foggy days drive and you're there. Bodega Bay or Cannon Beach
Freaking Classic, just absolutely, and beautifully classic.
Definitely yes on a motorcycle ride with careful tasting at some stops along the way!!

The Salmon Trail are distilleries own by gingers. So are you referring to them as Red Salmon?
This is the best use of a special effects budget I've ever seen. Screw Avengers: Endgame. Marvel needs to get on this level.

Your description reminded me of all the Doris Day movies. It looks like they put vaseline on the lens when they were filming her.
Motorcycles & Whisky ! Subscribed😊

Love that Compass Box 💯💯💯🥃 This one’s on my “to find” list.
Unrelated, my cousin in Alberta just found 3 bottles of Springbank 10 whilst detouring from the fires....be jealous!!
The 'Backpack of Holding' wins the day.
I’ll say it again love me some compass box.
Hell yeah fucken love you guys i just commented on a previous vid that i needed that low budget vid in my life
*Watches whiskey video, starts making travel plans to Hawaii *

Is this a blended whisky or a blended malt?
Sounds like it's a malt blend.
Yes, it is a blended malt.
Anyone else thinking of the scene from Dumb and Dumber where Lloyd drove through the night in the wrong direction?
DAMN, you guys keep causing me to overspend my “budget”…and NOW you wanna carry on about a ‘skooter’ ride to boot?!?!?
(Just how far is it from Prescott, AZ to Austin, TX????)
That was a barrel pick maker’s.
I'd be totally into a ride. Now I just need to get a bike. And a way to get to Austin. And time off to go. Oh well. 😂
The backpack of whisky holding.
would soooooo. do a mc ride with yall.
“That’ll get ya right”
I know y’all reviewed fighting cock bourbon but can y’all please blind it with several expensive bourbons I feel like y’all shorted it’s greatness???
How can there be no views but 2 likes ?
Rex and Dan lol 😆
I feel like all Compass Box reviews are the longest and biggest deep dive.
The MBMC Original
Those roads sound like every damn non motorway in the UK 😂
264👍
I would sooo buy a Cut .. he'll yeah !! THE MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS M.C.
It's a blended malt scotch whisky, not a blended whisky.
I'll do labels for you, and I'll only charge $1,000 per design plus fifty cents per bottle sold.
Wrong channel, same (im)maturity level!
