Good morning MBs, these past few days have been hard on me and my wife as her father and my dear friend passed away Sunday. So, for anyone willing, please give a toast to my father in law Dwayne. He was a good man and a hard worker. Gone far to young. I love you Dwayne.

Came here to say this. Someone on Reddit mentioned Flinestones vitamins and how it's a polarizing whiskey. I love it personally - both Dickel and B&T
Definitely get Flintstone vitamins from Dickel. Not my favorite, but a lot of people really like it.

@@Hellboy700 Thanks for asking. There was an arson fire in the small town on Huntington Oregon that burned down a whole block of century old buildings. Belushi has ties to the small community and decided to put on an outdoor concert for like 4 hours on a weekend. I and my wife went and had a good time. I caught him walking though the crowd mingling and I asked for a selfie. Ta Da!!

As someone who was in the lvl 2 class he was talking about, I can confirm what many people in the comments have already stated. What the Somm who mentioned this marker to Daniel actually said was Flintstone vitamins.
Very floral for me, almost potpourri. One of the first bottles I got along my whiskey journey and it has slowly grown on me. Cool looking bottle and the cork is super cool.
If you're looking for a four roses alternative, this will be your jam.
I was gonna grab a four roses single barrel but I wanted to try this so I grabbed a bottle and I like it so far.

Always entertained by the videos and occasionally learn something. Especially like it when you identify the mash bill. Personally, I favor mash bills with a high percentage of wheat. Never had a Dickel I found particularly appealing.

Thanks, & I am glad to know you don't get totally sloshed and we witness that destruction on camera. Segments makes better sense. Question, how to. store these bottles unopened and opened. ?? Also, my batch is #17, is that better than the later batch like you had ? If the smell is on the nose and the taste is shorter for your later batch ? Then a younger batch would be more BOLD ? TY
You should install one of those sliding wood ladders in the vault. That would look really nice and help Daniel with his height issues
How about this for a suggestion, "Line up Thursdays", so if you have several whiskys from the same company that are nothing but different finishes do them together on Line up day,.
So people can get the comparisons of each one together so they can figure out which one then need to hunt for.
The new Dickel 8 year bourbon does not have that signature Dickel note at all,.. it actually has a bit of spice to it like a high rye bourbon.
I was pretty impressed, it would be great if they could get that same flavor profile in a higher proof.
I haven't tried Bib and Tucker, and probably won't. I have felt since I first saw it, it's all advertising. And after watching your review confirms my decision.

I've seen this many times, but never pulled the trigger given that it seemed likely to be Dickel. Agree on the bottle design, though.

People in the Bourbon World call that chalky note "Flintstone Vitamins" .. Smarties sounds much nicer. I USED to describe that chalk like "Clay Dirt Road in a Corn Field" before watching the Whiskey Tube all the time.

I'm pretty sure this is actually Tennessee Distilling Co. in Columbia, TN, not Dickel. We have a 12 year store pick where I work and I swear it said "Distilled in Columbia, TN."

Dang it. I got a bottle of their small batch 6 year. Just smelled it, and "smarties." Now I'll never unsmell that. Lol. Luckily I like smarties candy.
Lol! I just had a rep at Total Wine recommend this to me the other day and I chose another whisky instead.
Same *exact* thing happened to me couple months ago. I’m convinced their “favorites” are just bottles they’re trying to push for one reason or another.
I got a sample taste from the TW drones, as well as some horrendous new crap they were pushing (cant remember the name). The B&T tasted so much smoother and nicer than the other garbage, and I liked it. So I bought it. Brought it home, had some again and it was more along the "It's just OK" lines. That first sample screwed me.
I worked there during the holiday season once… they definitely direct folks to the “spirits direct” labels, where they get a better cut.
@@bromidedrag Makes sense, I do enjoy some of the budget spirits direct offerings. So some of their recommendations they do feel worth consideration. Bib&T had caught my eye before so it was nice to try for free in store. But I think it kinda falls into the high markup end of spirits direct where they’re trying to cash in on marketing appeal/push and the cool looking bottle paired with sourced juice doesn’t support the price…
All that said, the tiny Dixie cup late morning in store tasting experience prob wasn’t a fair judgement compared to normal evening at home with a glencairn..

Smarties aka Flintstone's vitamins is 100% Dickel.....and I hate it.
I don't get the fascination with the bottle. I like bottles that can be reused easy. Like decanters. If I made liquors, my bottles could be used on any spirit.
The best way to eat Smarties is an entire sleeve deposited in your mouth. This translates to eating way too many Smarties.

I'm not entirely sure but in my opinion; William Schappert has donated SO MUCH DAMN WHISKEY that it's a running gag from Daniel and Rex now, like William just wants the attention so they're not going to give him any more than the barest minimum. Either way, it's all in good fun, just look for Williams comments, he loves it.
Backstory:
Donations help people reach new levels. M.B.'s are up to six bottles, Patron Saints are 7 to 12, and Titans are 13 and up.
William Schappert was one of the first to hit 10x Titan status (23+ bottles) and is STILL GOING STRONG.
We spent all of our visual effects budget on the normal Titan ceremony and yet the magnificence continued, so we had to create a makeshift next-level Titan video out of garbage in the studio just to keep up.
