Got this around 2 months ago, haven't regretted it once. By far the best all-rounder for competitve FPS and content consumption on the same monitor.

@@peebis6910 if your skipping to 240hz having only experienced 60hz, you'll be extremely impressed by the uncanny smoothness. Almost will feel like things are moving in slow motion to you until you use it for a few days.

Based on my research, this is one of the best competitve gaming monitors that is 2k resolution. Goes for about $650, it is worth it. Will probably get it as a side monitor for competitive games.

I’ll try and be constructive here. Firstly, the actual video presentation is very nicely done. However, this is where the ‘but’ comes in. For a monitor review, it could be that you don’t have the tools but you skirt around some details rather than mentioning specifics, and seem to draw some conclusions just from the fact this is a TN panel rather than based on measurements. Things like response time ought to be measured to show how well it copes up to 240hz, and if it’s quick enough to manage that. Then, conclusions like ‘it isn’t a good all rounder’ seem odd when other reviews have measured this monitor as having excellent colour coverage and accuracy right out of the box for example. Far better than some IPS monitors.
You seem to have gone down an observational/assumption route rather than factual here which might not have been an accurate way of showing the capabilities.
Tbh that's this guys monitor reviews in a nut shell imo if you want more of factual review I'd check out hardware unboxed

@@kostistsiutras4373 Whites are whites. Brights are brights. Color saturation with Nvidia control works fine but you'll have to use the sliders a bit more than your usual. The only thing I don't like is my monitor settings reset after every power off/on. And some settings can only be accessed while ingame.

Been using this monitor for Xbox one Gaming and rest assured that this thing is State-Of-The-Art. The input lag is the lowest of any monitor on Earth ATM. Only negative is that the menu buttons sit flush with the back of the panel so it feels weird but I never use it anyway after setting it once.

I received one a couple weeks ago. It looks spectacular. TN panel isnt a big deal. I had a PG27QR for many years and I loved it, that was TN also. This one looks way better than that one. But yeah, the only real issue with it is that the stand/mount are made poorly and it wobbles easily from tiny movements of my desk. BTW the red underglow can be changed to any color ;P

Had this monitor for a year. Everyone’s late on this for some weird reasons. But please stop complaining about button placement in a monitor. It’s a monitor, not a controller.
Would you recommend it over a 144hz IPS like the ASUS pg279q
jasethemuss86 just depends. Are you going for more color accurate or faster? I got it for the pure speed and the competitive advantage. Viewing angles I couldn’t care less about when you’re directly in-front of the monitor. But this monitor has some great color depth and accuracy for a TN!

I hear a lot of people talking about the "aggressive anti-glare matte coating" on this monitor, which some described as "grainy", others described "as if Vaseline was smeared across it", and others described "as if there was a film-screen protector on it". Can those with the monitor please contribute their thoughts on this? I.e. is it not very sharp, or is there a "rainbow speckle" effect on white backgrounds? The negative stories about the coating are the only thing putting me off this monitor at the moment.

Ok so I know you gave it an overall positive review but when are Techtubers gonna drop the BS about TN panels, modern high-quality TN's like this (and others) have zero issues unless you are doing highly accurate professional colour work for a job. Viewing angles are fine unless you sit on the floor and media like movies look great. Yes, an IPS will pop more but unless you have 2 panels sat next to each it won't make a difference and with the TN you won't have any of the issues like light bleed and IPS glow which is an issue on even the most expensive panels available, getting a IPS panel with minimal light bleed is considered winning the panel lottery.

TN panels are best for fps games right???
Its 1100 in Australia, the issue I have is with the ps5 n Xbox series x coming out along with new nvidia GPUs with Intel n AMD also releasing their CPUs I feel a lot more of these specs in monitors will be available at cheaper prices, especially since you can't even get 240hz at 1440p on most games excluding competitive games so I think better to wait although I don't know if I have the patience =/
I dont understand these monitors, I want to get one but how exactly does one run 1440p 240hz? I have a 3900x and 2080ti and I can't get past 120hz at that res. Even my 9900k with 2080ti only shoots 140fps at that res.

@@nivuu3553 2k would be a resolution like 2048×1080. Something that adds up to around 2000 pixels horizontally. 2560×1440 is about 2600 pixels horizontally and 1.77 times the pixels as 1920x1080. Hence 2.6k and not 2k. Does that clear things up for you?

Technically speaking, if "4k" is 3840x2160 (3840 pixels horizontally) , then "2k" would be much closer to 1920x1080 (1920 pixels horizontally), however 2k is largely regarded as 1440p even though it's 2560x1440 which would technically make it 2.6k. If everything was technical instead of marketing based, 1080p would be 2k (1.9k), 1440p would be 3k (2.6k) and 2160p would be 4k (3.8k)
If you got the Omen 35' curved and put this one above it, it wouldn't look right huh cause the curved is not as good?
Great review! However, there are 0 IPS monitors with 1 ms - if they get close to it, ghosting is unbearable. Thus, what they can give is 3-4 ms, which is too much for a gaming monitor :)

My biggest problem is finding speakers/sound bar. I connect the monitor directly to my xbox/PS and then have to use a headset. However if i want to talk to mates (Xbox) and play a PS game then I have to use the xbox app and earphones...not ideal. I only play PS for the single player exclusives and just want sound to come out as if i had the volume up on a TV. Any recommendations of Speakers / Sound Bar i can connect to the Monitor or PS5? Regarding the monitor though, love it, looks and runs great, the buttons on the back can be a little tedious but doesn't bother me much! great vid!

The 1ms response time on all monitors is all a marketing scam. The omen is the fastest coming in at 5 ms from hitting a button to fully displaying it. Other monitors have around 10-20ms
The music on the background really messes the video
These are the key points of my gaming needs. My only concern is buying it and within months Asus Acer BenQ catch up and out perform it.

Yea I also got the Omen X 27. I love it. For my 2080ti its perfect. THE ONLY THING WHY I WOULD NOT BUY THIS IS THE COLOUR DIFFERENCE BECAUSE OF THE ANGEL CAUSED BY THE TN PANEL.

I will only buy Tn panels with 240 hz. I play quake/xonotic. I have tried all types of monitors. Before 240 hz was available, I would only buy 144 hz TN panel. They are way smoother and more responsive.

What frames per second do you reach on 240hz at 2k? On 165hz at 2k with a new x3700 and 2070oc I can only get 140fps so how will even a 2080ti get you to 240fps? Makes no sense. Am I missing something?
why do viewing angles matter on a bloody 27 inch screen you sit right in front of, i mean i can understand viewing angles on a 60 inch tv in a front room but this just confuses me.

27Gl850 is the better bet if you use your pc for anything other than gaming. But for competitive play, with a top end gpu this is superior.

@Ambrose Delgado well i know all ips problems but this lg looks really good response times between 2-5 miliseconds while this HP got between 1,5 to 6 miliseconds i saw both revievs on hardware unbox channel i think i just test them both then i decide
I liked your videos but I think you need to start providing input lag and grey to grey response time like Hardware Unboxed, your channel will then likely grow more

@@N_ZoeTV It's a coating they put on the display to reduce reflections from light. It's so bad on this monitor that it looks grainy.
Was just going to the say, this was the first thing I noticed in the review in how the lights bounce on top of the surface of the monitor and makes this obvious grey hazy coloring, very clearly visible how aggressive the coating is, that looks like the most horrible anti-glare coating you can find.

Yeah WailofDoom is right. VA panels should not be used for gaming in my opinion, on top of that good luck getting 240 fps on an almost 4k display.

Console is more optimized for close to 4K at no more that’s 60fps. This monitor would be solely for pc users.

for apex, 240hz 1080p is enough but for pubg or cod16(realistic style fps game), 1080p is not enough to have a clear view. My monitor is benq 27inch 240hz 1080p and im hard to see the enemies clearly in a mid/long distance(even beside the window in a mid distance) under 1080p in pubg or cod16. 240hz is quite more comfortable than 144hz.

Hi, thank you for your reviews. If I have a 240hz monitor? does that mean my graphic card has to send 240fps to my monitor? I ordered a 2560x1440p Samsung G7 at 240hz, but I don't know If I need a graphic card that produces 240fps. I have a 5700xt Nitro that gives me 105 FPS at 2560x1440p. So again my question is if I need 240fps to take advantage of the 240hz monitor? Thank you
Nah you don’t, it just won’t match the hz you paid for. However I wanted G7 but the flicker issues are insane I was tryna buy one bet meh. You should be fine getting lower fps! Don’t then g sync on your G7, also let me know how the monitor goes it’s G7 or the Omen and idk which one tk get
