Did he once mention the Constitution of the United States and his duty to protect the rights of all citizens? That's because he doesn't care about your rights.
It's not to serve and protect, it's to enforce the edicts of the state. And the government as a whole doesn't exist to protect the citizenry, but to restrict the citizenry.
There is no obligation to protect the people. They're main job is to enforce the laws and statutes and arrest the criminal and make sure he answers for his crimes
Jacob Jackson "To protect and serve" has been a Law Enforcement mantra for decades but it's more of a way to establish a connection with the community than obligation
Looking forward to the Series. I think the more we understand about the police mindset, the court's mindset and the path between, the better the chance that we do not become a victim of that process. I really like this educational aspect of your service.
If I understood you correctly. Did I hear you say; you did traffic for some time ? If this is the case; That's a VIOLATION of The Constitution. Your job as a police officer is to ALWAYS Uphold and Defend The Constitution. Your job is to chase and arrest criminals, not harass Innocent Citizens ! Traffic Stops are NOT crimes. You don't go to jail or prison for Traffic Stops. All Traffic Stops are a VIOLATION of The Constitution. You have The Right to travel Freely on State and City Highways and Streets without being molested by Government Officials, unless you've committed a crime. Traffic Stops are NOT crimes. Therefore ALL Traffic Stops are a VIOLATION of The Constitution. ! Yes, DEFUND THE POLICE ! Shut down The Whole Police Traffic Division completely across America ! Put all police officers only on crime.
Would be nice if police officers actually treated us with respect. Also, police are not there to "protect us" they are there for revenue generation & picking up the pieces. There are too many laws. The police should not be exempt from the laws we are forced at gunpoint to follow. SWAT should be ONLY for extreme emergencies, not a bunch of non-violent no knock raids. Mr. Anderson, you talk a good game but I bet there are dozens if not hundreds of people who would disagree with you that you are a "good" police officer. The power trip corrupts even the best intentioned man.
crazed.... your handle is very aptly fitting. Do you know Capt. Anderson personally? If not, how can you make accusations that he is corrupt? I have known more than a few police officers over the years, and they have been, by & large, very good people. You can catch a great person, on a bad day, and yes, he/she may be rude, abrupt, and yes, an ASS. But by seeing your comments, you must be the most cheerful, exuberant person at EVERY party, and everyone wants to be in your company. As for revenue generation, BULL****.... If the stupidity police were running through your little berg, you'd be bankrupt..... And if you're held at "gunpoint" in this country, you can leave any time you want, I'll even help you pack your bags!!!!
Kevin Carr I agree with most of what you say but revenue is a big part of police work. The police I have met have been overly polite. In fact yesterday I went through a controlled stop. Very polite officers. I live in a little city of about 100k. Why should our local police department who is short on police officers and short on dogs have a tank? Was watching a sheriff lockout one day about two years ago. The guy would not open the door for the two sheriffs. Then they called local police 4 of them showed up. Then a Sargent. Then they called swat and 4 more showed up. During the time a few other locals showed up. You know what eneded up happeneing? They just left. Because the guy behind his door knew his rights. Talk about a waste of city funds! I could tell you a story about the time I was held up at gun point in S.F. and the police but I will save that for another time.
You know...This is straight from the horses mouth "The book is 8 inches thick and most police don't even know them all" So why is a citizen expected to? Why is it legal to arrest an otherwise law abiding citizen doing nothing wrong not breaking the LONG LIST OF LAWS He does know , with the knowledge that the one arresting him likely doesn't even know the book. At least he is honest about that part and its damn well true. People get offended when someone says most police don't even know their local laws, they say you hate police or you don't support them but the truth is we don't mind police and try to help them if need be however we don't like it when we are harassed and arrested over "Made up Laws". Its not even in the books and as one of the Lawyers stated on this channel gun owners "The Good guy" gets arrested sometimes over laws that aren't even laws. Unlawful arrests of otherwise law abiding citizens. Some Depts require a bachelors degree in Criminal justice but that is NOT part of the Academy in many cases ,Academies are 10-12 weeks so how is it that in weeks, with all the physical training and firearms training, driving training, that we are supposed to trust that these people know the laws of the state or local community city municipalities? Lawyers go to school for 8 years yet police get a badge and a gun and turned loose to police citizens on laws they themselves don't even know. -_- That is why there are so many police who do not know the laws, they don't even spend enough time on learning them to even learn the first quarter inch of that 8 inch book of laws. So why are we expected to be ok with being arrested on charges they don't even know we actually did or laws they just make up cause they cant think of anything to arrest us for and don't like that we as citizens know our rights? I respect that this Capt at least will level with you about the Laws.
I have a question. What if the police officers do pass judgment. .. Who would do that?! The one who decides you do not belong there. Or the one who perhaps is sleeping with the relative of the reporting … And that on company time? Hypothetically speaking of course
00:56 “protect the people and prevent injury”
Never been to Texas, curious how true that is . . .
Did he once mention the Constitution of the United States and his duty to protect the rights of all citizens? That's because he doesn't care about your rights.
What lead you to think thereof?
just don't loot stores, torch cars, play the knockout game nor throw bricks through windows so you don't have to worry about you having no rights

One more time for the people in the back

easy39us as ruled by the Supreme Court in June of 2005. so many people do not know this.

If they are violating a law then yes, it is a crime, I have no idea what twisted mindset you have.
Big piece missing..."while honoring our constitutional oath"
Has to be obvious Friends with Joseph Salvaggio.

I think that too often the presumption of innocence is overlooked.
I agree and that's why we have the most complicated law system in the world. Two lawers and a judge can't even figure it out.
