Memories! I was the guy who filmed this. I stood there, back to a wall, and had my own private Pokey LaFarge performance, and hung out with the band a couple of times that weekend!
AS an introverted old fogey in my 80's I think Pokey and his group are superb. The guitarist is terrific and Pokey's voice fits exactly to the music he plays I always wonder why the clarinetist and (especially) the trumpeter did not stay long with the group.
It's pretty common for band members to come and go. It's not easy to wrangle a group of people together for a long time, life pulls people different ways. The hardest part of being a band leader is getting people together. Even if you only get to record a song or two or an album before some have to go, it's still worth it.
All of the musicians are fantastic but I'm really liking Pokey's chord work on the Epiphone! He makes it look effortless and as natural as scratching an itch. Love this band!
Yes, that's the big point. Playing great is wonderful, playing great and making it look effortless is priceless. It should come naturally, and with these people it certainly seems to do!
Just mooching about UA-cam looking for new sounds and landed here. This track is not only brilliantly balanced and cool AF, but reminded me instantly of the old tracks of Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt. Foot tapping excellence!!
I can't remember if I found Chloe via Pokey or the other way around, but I am glad I found them both! I miss this band but Pokey new music is also excellent.
One of my favourite bands and great that they are playing this kind of music. Seen them as a band several times in Brighton and Pokey on his solo tour in Sydney a few years ago. Looking forward to the next time!
Every time I hear this song, I love it more and more! Amazing instrumentation mastery. This band is "Tight" and "On Tha Money" and the fact, they filmed it, is just "Eye Candy". Amazing solos by all! Thank You ALL! Love Your Music.
You sir, and band, made my day, great talent! Not that I'm old but Benny Goodman, great song! I dated a gal played clarinet, what a tongue she had, but I digress,
I am grinning like a fool, this is wonderful, a bit of Bob Wills, Hank Williams, Redbone, and still original. Who knew a clarinet solo could be so damn cool?!
Wow! Thank you Pinball Sessions for posting this and thank you You Tube's feed algorithum for sending me here! Why didn't I know about these guys before?
This guy is special. Great classic old time American music played perfectly. Love the room, the clothes and the great, effortless musicianship. For those who think it's easy, give it a try. That clarinet solo sounds like Benny Goodman. That's years of playing. Everyone sounds really good.
The clarinet player is adorable!
She's a great singer too.
under statement of the century lol she is absolutely stunning :)
I cannot dispute your observation! Just here to say: Clarinet was the "lead guitar" of the 1920's, 30's, and 40's
and smokes that black stick no one's bizness

Did a great job friend
Bad job man, the guitar guy have a huge mic in front of his face, all the time. 😉
@@icocoiico you got nothing good to say, STFU
@@gabbyhyman1246
Come down, it's a constructive criticism.
@@icocoiico It's not the cameraman's fault
Nobody talking about the clarinet solo? Priceless.
Heck, yeah! She's an outstanding soloist, too!
You are not wrong, mate. She is fantastic! Alphonse Picou would be proud of playing like that!
@@andriesscheper2022 Look again bro!
@@andriesscheper2022 what the heck are you look in at? Did you just not watch the whole thing? Sorry. Starts about 2:20
That's Chloe Feoranzo aka "Chloe Jazz". Everything she plays on is gold. She's on some good Post Modern Jukebox songs as well. Terrific talent.
Folks, it doesn't get any better than this.
Amen
This is why god gave us ears
Does my heart good to see young people reviving this music.Real musicianship! No tricks only skill
Damn its good to see that generation still making this music .
The look over his shoulder for the clarinet solo was so cool👌, clarinet solo was delicious 👏👏
I love how everyone looks like they're playing so effortlessly. It just makes them look even cooler...if that was possible.
It is very easy music to play for anyone with some skills. Wtf.
His cousin Harold I believe.
To What Me Worry.. Yeah, you got a video we can check out? Just asking. I know musicians can play this and plenty that can't.

It was a moment for sure.

Pokey disbanded the whole band shortly after this and went a slightly different direction musically.
Real musicians are such a great rarity any more. Thanks for keeping music alive.
THAT CLARINET SOLO! Oh my word. Brilliant.
Hello friend, how're you doing today?
Love the way he subtly turns and gives the nod to each sideman to do their 'bit'
That clarinet is banging.
Just an old time retired country doctor who stumbled on this group...... Fantastic way to get going in the morning.
Dr Dave in Traverse City, MI

A retired artist from Germany
Dr. Dave, your Traverse City is a gem. Visited with my wife in 2016. Liked it so much, visited again in ‘18. Bang on about Pokey.
As a former clarinet player, that solo made me so happy.
She cooks. I mean, that's Pete Fountain stuff ...
amazing Chloe Feoranzo

Listening ain't enough - gotta see them live!
Holy Mahoney!!! Just made my Monday feel like Friday!!!
Still enjoying this in 2022! Love for you to bring more video like this Pokey
It is not possible so much talent, elegance and quality. And yet it is
All of the musicians are fantastic but I'm really liking Pokey's chord work on the Epiphone! He makes it look effortless and as natural as scratching an itch. Love this band!
Loving this big time
Yes, that's the big point. Playing great is wonderful, playing great and making it look effortless is priceless. It should come naturally, and with these people it certainly seems to do!
Got this in my 'Favourites'. Play it at least 4 times a day. Buckets of talent. Man! Can't get enough of the band

I love it myself. Love that style. 👌😋🤘😎🤘
The lead singer looks like a wanted fella in one of those antique Billy the kid wanted posters! Lol!
Pokey LaFarge, is the writer and singer 👌☺️
My brother introduced me to Pokey Lafarge with ‘Something in the water’ hooked ever since!
Me too, how have I lived this long without it?
My sister’s the one that clued me in
Oh I love Pokey, he's bringing back some great sounding music
Haven't been so happy since I first heard the Squirrel Nut Zippers years ago! Awesome.
Now that's what I'm talking about
somethin' in the waters my fave,
Perfection! Shout out to the subtle-just-right percussion and the virtuoso clarinet. Vocalist: nuance and depth. Just fantastic!
1st, class job pokey, the best Paul 😊😊😊😮😮😮🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤.
Just mooching about UA-cam looking for new sounds and landed here. This track is not only brilliantly balanced and cool AF, but reminded me instantly of the old tracks of Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt. Foot tapping excellence!!
The bass player’s got some real chops - and he’s a good bass player too!
Nicole Pinched them from Ray Dorset (Mungo Jerry). 😃
Ray Davidson Ray is in a class all by himself. 🙂

Truly amazing talent here! We need more of this music on radio and tv instead of the superficial pop stars.
Works really well with the addition of trumpet and clarinet, brilliant sound and so tight.
my thoughts exactly always good but getting better if that is possible.
Well this was friggin AMAZING to stumble upon. Looks like I have some songs to buy.
You sir, and band, made my day, great talent! Not that I'm old but Benny Goodman, great song! I dated a gal played clarinet, what a tongue she had, but I digress,
Ohhhh YES !!! This is great music. Great musicians all.
Even the licorice stick got two 8's for herself.
I'd love to play guitar like these guys... the fingers dancing over the frets, all done with a smooth groove and a sly smile.
How the heck have I only just found these guys now? Awesome stuff
As always….. spot on!!!! Visited his concerts a few times here in The Netherlands (Groningen) and it was spot on. Thank you Pokey and band. 👍👍👍

Dude is killing it on the dobro!
Each player is killing it. They must have been flipping cartwheels on the inside, with each new player that answered the ad ...
Texas swing with a heapin' helpin' of Louisiana hot sauce on the side. Might want to keep that clarinet player.
She's Chloe Feoranza and she's amazing. Look for her-she's all over UA-cam. She a fine singer too.
A bit late for that.
Just came across your band recently. Really capture that old style sound! All talented musicians for sure.
This is the chillest Drummer I have ever seen XD
Omg... They finally got the time machine!
I am grinning like a fool, this is wonderful, a bit of Bob Wills, Hank Williams, Redbone, and still original. Who knew a clarinet solo could be so damn cool?!
The clarinet - killing me!
Wow! Thank you Pinball Sessions for posting this and thank you You Tube's feed algorithum for sending me here! Why didn't I know about these guys before?
The lead singer looks like he time traveled from 1930. This is so perfect.
He looks like Fred Astaire
So good, so good, Roll on Byron Bay Bluesfest next Easter, just across the Tasman Sea in Australia
Wow...this is just awesome! Makes you want to dance!
