Watched all 3 runs in a row and i just love how everyone is glued to to the tv, not even the announcer interrupts calling for donations they are just on the edge of their seat. Amazing run man.
Marcos Antonio Olivares Sandoval on the nes I got to 7-3 but beating 3 bosses on one life is hard. I did beat the game eventually with save states but that doesn't count. Its alot easier then ninja gaiden 1 and 2 though
Dad: Hey, stop playing those video games and do your chores! Get your act together! Kid: Dad, Im trying to cure cancer! Leave me alone! Said no kid in the 80's
that was a close perfect speed run until stage 7-2 and 7-3 That play at the end of scene 4 with one spec of energy beating that was a bit of luck wasn't it lol.and this guy beat it without the getting the power sword impressive!and u defeated Clancy 1st and 2nd form and the War droid on the first try awesome job!
i love the powersword, ryu has in this one and also the tricks are harder to do, unlike ninja gaiden one, in which i dominated it to the point of not losing a man, running through the game in 29 minutes.
Everyone present probably speedruns, or at least follows the speedrunning scene, but not all of them performed. Some were there to support other runners, for instance.
at 00:22 Uraniumanchor starts to say something about a quick word of warning and then he gets cut off and now I'm going crazy not knowing what he was going to say. ok he finally finished at 02:22 . that was driving me nuts
People are watching for the gameplay not hearing peoples names who donated. If the only reason you donated to charity was to be recognized, you are doing it for the wrong reason.
Don't give up! The first game isn't as difficult as it seems, anyway. I sat down to master it a few months back and thought I'd be struggling for days, but the game gets progressively easier to handle as you figure things out. Things like the existence of the Spin Slash sub weapon and, more importantly, how to jump and slash without using a Spin Slash. Then all you need is to be incredibly cautious around power ups, always cut them first and see what drops, pick up weapon energy and avoid other sub weapons. Play through like this a few times and learn the basic mechanics and tricky enemy spawns, it won't be long before you can play through without the Spin Slash. The final two bosses will always be somewhat of a pain, though. You either have to learn to beat them with the regular sword only (it removes your sub weapon after phase one) or die on boss two and do the final levels over so you can use the Spin Slash on him, THEN die on boss three and do the final levels over again to get the Spin Slash and fight him with it. I actually recommend this for the first couple plays with the mindset that you're getting extra practice at the final levels because they can get pretty crazy.
They privated it 4 months ago so that we wouldn't have a flood of 1000 AGDQ 2012 videos filling our inboxes when they uploaded all the stuff from Twitch.
I'm jealous lol! Couldnt finish this game in the 90's and still can't today! ( Haven't tried in about...oh lets see 10 yrs!) In the 90's I could breeze through parts 1 and 2. Not this one. Made it to stage 7 master but lost everytime. I gave up since it puts you back at stage 5 or so...Very impressed with this dude..👍
It's never too late. NG 3 is one of the earliest examples of the US and Japan releases having vastly different levels of difficulty. For some reason this time, back when the Japanese gaming opinion was that difficult games didn't fare well in the US, they decided to send us the insanely difficult version. I forget if there's ever been a reason stated, but I always theorized it was just some sort of experiment to see how an intensely difficult Japanese game would do overseas. Anyway, the Japanese version had a much more forgiving and balanced difficulty. Like they said in the video, damage is reduced to a much more reasonable scale and curve. The game over system is much more forgiving, too. If I remember right, extra lives are basically pointless, as the stage setbacks are either minimal or nonexistent. It's easy to get it emulated, but if you don't want to go that route, I'd say it would be worth it to find and play a physical copy. If you're good at any version of 1, you'll be able to get through the JP version of 3!
Games were made harder in the American version due to game rentals. America had a thriving market for video game and movie rentals. If you make the game much harder and make sure nobody can beat it, it forces the player/parents to continually rent the game. Same reason Battle Toads is unfairly difficult and many others.
Well to be fair even the runners were annoyed by the constant donation reading. They said they are definitely going to revise how they do it for next time due to it interrupting the runners and being a bit of a waste of time. They like the donations but not when they get interrupted for a "here's 5 dollars good work"
Yup. Because we all know glitching a game successfully is more important than donating to save lives, and as an added bonus, the clapping definitely isn't obnoxiously loud or anything. (Sarcasm BTW) The fact your comment has 66 thumbs up and the person who stuck up for the donators is "flagged as spam" makes me completely disgusted with the youtube community.
Sad to say I completely missed the event. Just wanted to give a sincere thank you for uploading these on UA-cam. Are there still runs/games you havent gotten around to uploading? If so, could you name a few? Just curious. Cheers.
Someone should analyze each game before it is ran and determine the best times to read donations. Serious Time = No Comments, Auto Scroll = Comments, Difficult Areas = No Comments, and Regular Areas = Comments. Of course it all depends, if the Runner is having a hard time, keep comments to a minimum. First stages Comments should be read if any. O.o anything else?
Why didn't he use powerups and ninpos? Is that solely for the purpose of demonstating how skillful he is? It sure would take some time to collect them, but with the usage some ninpos he wouldn't have died twice in level 7. I'm not as familiar as he was to this game, I don't remember the locations of all enemies. However I can beat the whole game in 20mins without any risk by using ninpos, even though I spend some time on collecting items.
Not really. If it weren't for the charity marathon and its incentives a lot of these donaters probably wouldn't have donated. While the donaters were the ones contributing the money, the runners at the marathon basically organized all of them, and their priority for getting more donations was to be as entertaining as possible. What's more, I can't imagine why "donater" or "donator" isn't a word. That's bullshit.
Alright. I'm glad that when someone donates their hard earned money to contribute towards saving someone else's life, you & a majority of youtubers find obnoxiously loud clapping of more importance, and if anyone says otherwise their comment should be flagged as spam. I'm done.
No. People donnate because they are entertainned, you merely pay (or choose not to) for a product wich is a speedrunning performance. Sorry, but i prefer listening to the runner or the commentaries than to the donations.
To be fair just because they are helping other people it doesn't over rule manners and respect to the people who are giving there hard earned money for charity
actually the third game is the easiest on the series. is way more fluid and responsive and the controls are way more refined than in NG2 (and lets not talk about NG1 where the mechanic to jump from the side of a platform to the top of it is super hard). When i was a kid in 1992 i played the hell out of this game (and the other two) and i used to race through it on maybe 20-22 minutes using all the powerups (it take way more time on no pickups and short sword runs). I was never that good on NG2 and i actually played it way more than 3. i have tried recently to play it again (NG2 and 3) like that and my reflexes are not that good anymore.
NG2 is the easiest due to how often it gives you checkpoints. You can practically damage boost the entire game, lose 100 lives, and still win. Not a fun game compared to 1 and 3 IMO. The sword hitbox is trash as well, causing a lot of cheap deaths. NG1 is the easiest for me, but I know it best. Honestly the 2 main barriers in NG1 are stage 6 and Jacquio for most players. The rest is actually easy in comparison. NG3 has the best power up in the series and the controls are friendly and greatly benefit the player. That being said, I think it has way more bullshit than NG1 but, again, I don't know it as well. For me, it's the hardest.
says the guy trolling youtube vids for "lulz", 2/10 for making me reply twice.. the quality of trolling has been steadily declining...you can do better kiddo
Watched all 3 runs in a row and i just love how everyone is glued to to the tv, not even the announcer interrupts calling for donations they are just on the edge of their seat. Amazing run man.
"are you KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!"
My reaction in many NES games
Happens even to the best.
I was convinced this game was fucking impossible I never passed the world level with the two bosses this guy makes look easy
psp785 just only practice
Marcos Antonio Olivares Sandoval on the nes I got to 7-3 but beating 3 bosses on one life is hard. I did beat the game eventually with save states but that doesn't count. Its alot easier then ninja gaiden 1 and 2 though
Great.... But just tried without power save... U will feel great
+psp785 No way man NG 1 and 2 are like child's play compared to 3.
CalvinistOnACouch ninja gaiden 3 doesn't have re-spawning bosses I find it easier then the first 2
lets make ninja gaiden harder by not picking any thing up lol
That's what the "pacifist" way is all about
Dad: Hey, stop playing those video games and do your chores! Get your act together!
Kid: Dad, Im trying to cure cancer! Leave me alone!
Said no kid in the 80's
That dude is like:"that wasn't so bad", i can't beat act 3 without dying and loosing couple continues.. :D
that was sick!! very intense!!! congrats to Uraniumarchor! the ultimate master of ninja gaiden 3 ... back then it took me 3 days to beat it..
Ninja Gaiden 3 Famicom is the BEST episode from the trilogy!!!
the american version is a better game. the famicom version is the easiest in the series and isnt very fun.
i'm surprised he didn't rage harder, nice run! we're not worthy
that was a close perfect speed run until stage 7-2 and 7-3 That play at the end of scene 4 with one spec of energy beating that was a bit of luck wasn't it lol.and this guy beat it without the getting the power sword impressive!and u defeated Clancy 1st and 2nd form and the War droid on the first try awesome job!
THIS GUY IS REALLY AWESOME !
i love the powersword, ryu has in this one and also the tricks are harder to do, unlike ninja gaiden one, in which i dominated it to the point of not losing a man, running through the game in 29 minutes.
this runner i like, he has that oldschool bad temper ! :D
Everyone present probably speedruns, or at least follows the speedrunning scene, but not all of them performed. Some were there to support other runners, for instance.
Excellent run. Thanks for the post!
at 00:22 Uraniumanchor starts to say something about a quick word of warning and then he gets cut off and now I'm going crazy not knowing what he was going to say.
ok he finally finished at 02:22 . that was driving me nuts
Great run! Uraniumarchor is a cool guy. :)
I was kind of hoping he got killed and yes it happened!! LOl
Unbelievable guys.... I can believe... How's perfect
This guy played without the sword and powers on the US version. Sick skills.
Awesome run
This guy is insane. As if this game wasn't ball-bustingly hard enough to beat normally...
Amazing cause and amazing graphics for NES standards! :)
AVGN's cousin.
Wait, is that just a way of complimenting his hair and glasses, or is he actually related to James Rolfe? XD
can't believe i actually beat this game under 15:54 at the age 10....
now a days, it's impossible to re-an act that record ever again....
for almost sixteen hours? No one would like to watch that
People are watching for the gameplay not hearing peoples names who donated. If the only reason you donated to charity was to be recognized, you are doing it for the wrong reason.
That guy is amazing. Fuck this game, fuck the entire trilogy. I give up.
Don't give up! The first game isn't as difficult as it seems, anyway. Yes, the first Ninja Gaiden is very forgiving. I've done 7 casual No Death runs so far.
I saw this live and I'm so glad I did. I can't even beat the first or second level of this game. (I own it)
They privated it 4 months ago so that we wouldn't have a flood of 1000 AGDQ 2012 videos filling our inboxes when they uploaded all the stuff from Twitch.
3 Final boss forms. That is savage.
I'm jealous lol! Couldnt finish this game in the 90's and still can't today! ( Haven't tried in about...oh lets see 10 yrs!) In the 90's I could breeze through parts 1 and 2. Not this one. It's the singer from Devo!
i m sure he could finish the game even faster with certain pickups
17:57 should actually be the mark. the run should end once the final boss is dead unless u have to move after to advance.
Wait did they just did 3 miracles?¨
1. Beating hardest game in NES library
2. Not most things up
3. Doing it in less than 20 minutes
Yes, it's a speed run marathon.

awwww, baby's first troll, I'm so proud of you, this is a big day for you huh...
and now you know how deceiving appearances can be
I thought this game cannot be beaten ever...now I see.
We need cosmo running Tloz on iQue under 20 minutes!
No some are just there to watch and casually play in other rooms.
Uh oh, watch out everyone, we got a tough guy over here.
Yup. Because we all know glitching a game successfully is more important than donating to save lives, and as an added bonus, the clapping definitely isn't obnoxiously loud or anything. (Sarcasm BTW)

When the runner says serious time you KNOW it's a hard level.
I feel bad for this guy, lol. He's SO passionate and he was NOT having a good day, lol.
I want to see that Goof Troop run!
Sad to say I completely missed the event. Just wanted to give a sincere thank you for uploading these on UA-cam. Are there still runs/games you havent gotten around to uploading? If so, could you name a few? Just curious. Cheers.

Aw, did they talk over your donation? Deal with it. Getting your name mentioned isn't the primary purpose of those.
I'm in Europe and played it back then. What does he mean didn't come out in Europe ?
Nope, it never came out in Europe. There was never a Shadow Warriors 3 over here so you must of played an import.
Sinclairstrange or a bootleg. There's a lot of bootlegs of this game
That's true indeed. :) I forgot about those!
