Very good points. You're not glossing over the negatives. I also agree with the pros. We are constantly finding new and amazing restaurants. And the diversity of Wpg is also amazing. We are truly a multicultural city! Love it.
As I am planning to immigrate to Winnipeg, this video is definitely beneficial to me! The content is amazing! Thanks! I am wondering where I can find useful information of careers in Tech field too. Looking forward for the video on this topic!😀
A thorough and clear description of Winnipeg Cons and Pros! I am Iranian and I’ve been in Winnipeg since 2016. In comparison to other Canadian cities, Winnipeg is a good city to live as a family, but not as an international student.
Thankyou for such an amazing video!!! It was really helpful to know this. Appreciate your efforts. Will be moving to Winnipeg for my studies this December. Looking forward to explore.
Very helpful, would please elaborate little bit more on Crimes, what are the best ways to stay safe , what are the do's and don'ts to stay safe when it comes to crimes. Thanks in advance.
I do speak to this in the video - but a large proportion are domestic and gang-related that are oftentimes to more specific areas. Reach out if you need help selecting areas.
I am a ewcomer in Winnipeg (Arrived on december 15th), and I must say that the first impression of the city and the people has been very positive, I am living in the area of St Vital Center and I have been told that it is a fairly safe area and as you say the people so far have been very friendly. It is true that the public transportation could be a bit better but it still does the job and if you plan well with the hours of the buses you can use it in a good way.
One friendly suggestion: Adjust your microphone because your voice is not much clear. Not sure if you are using mic or the microphone is a bit far away from you. Get a microphone that removes the echo and make the voice cleat. Thank you!
You bet! Just after filming this video my microphone came in. Hopefully you will notice on the subsequent videos that the audio quality is much better. I plan to shoot this one again now that I have better tools! Thanks for watching and for the very valuable feedback.
Hi there! We specialize in resale or new construction properties. We don't work in rentals here, but there are certainly affordable communities in and around the University of Winnipeg for purchase. If you want a list, feel free to email us: Hello@JenniferQueen.com
I’m gonna be honest, none of these cons sound like they’re that bad. I’m from the US, so I can handle mosquitos. The worst thing to me sounds like the crime rates, but again it seems like there are certain places that are safer than others and as long as you can keep your wits about you, you should be fine it seems. Plus as long as I’m not living in the US so there’s an advantage there too. Pro Number 7!

Send an email to Hello@JenniferQueen.com and let us know where you'll be working and what's important to you (ie. do you need a good school catchment for kids, parks for dogs, large yard for growing family, etc.) and we can give some suggestions for what would be best given your circumstances. Hi Husain, there are a number of areas around the University of Manitoba that I have seen advertising job postings. Just today I noticed postings at: Sobeys, Starbucks, Booster Juice, to name a few. There are definitely options!!

Manitoba: Land of 100,000 lakes! Winnipeg has easy access to SEVERAL wonderful lakes for swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing, etc., etc. - Or just tanning on the beach of several white sands beaches.
Great video. Ive been living here since 2016. I used to live in kitchener waterloo ontario for university. Only good thing about over there was it only a few hours drive away to toronto. But wpg is kinda in the middle of nowhere. But i still like it here. I think we will see a lot of growth in the next 5 to 10 years tbh seeing all the developments all over the city. Also waterloo is not as cold temperature wise even though it was still very cold imo.. but it snows just as much or more over there. Climate wise i prefer winnipeg cause of lots of sunny days. People wear sunglasses while driving in winter in winnipeg it was funny at first but i like it lol. As long as you have garage, or covered or indoor parking for your home, or even just invest in remote starter to warm up your car in the winter before leaving, its very tolerable imo.
I'm in Kitchener-Waterloo and considering moving. How do you find the social life there? Job opportunities? How are the people? All in comparison to KW
@@tiadeutschmann7596 hey, kw has a lot of tech jobs I think, winnipeg has more diverse jobs but for me cuz I studied engineering I found that there’s a lot of companies here are manufacturing industries. It kinda makes sense cause winnipeg is kinda blue collar. But there’s definitely lots of higher quality jobs too and some tech jobs I never really considered cuz I don’t code ynno. Social life is actually pretty good. I’m part of lgbtq and there’s a few clubs for that which was there last weekend and it was packed. And there’s a lot of straight clubs and people in other cities think it’s surprising that winnipeg has night life but compared to Toronto I guess it’s meh, but compared to kw I think it’s great. Keep in mind there’s quite a few sketchy areas within the city. Also winnipeg has developments but we don’t look similar to Toronto or kw. We don’t build glass buildings much. Mostly low to mid rise too. Try to visit before you decide I suggest :)
@@tiadeutschmann7596 Hi Tia! To be honest, I don't have any knowledge of Kitchener-Waterloo so I can't necessarily compare the two. Friendly, helpful, engaging, and welcoming. The license plates here say "Friendly Manitoba" for a reason!!

Mosquitos have become a BIG problem as they have become immune to poisoning. There have been many cases of yellow fever and all businesses that are related to electrical stations are over saturated with many having gone out of business as they can't compete against the large corporations.
