Girl I’m so mad. How dare they sell a synthetic wig for that much. You could have bought 4 40” inch bundles from luxury hair company Kendras boutique. It must be so sell washing, meal cooking, house cleaning synthetic fibers. It better come with a 6’4 tall dark and handsome top.

There’s no way in hell I’d pay $500 for that wig. I think most of her clientele just doesn’t know that there’s much cheaper alternatives that are of the same quality or better. I cannot imagine even paying over $100 for a synthetic unstyled wig.

"Normal" women with hair loss don't have the same sort of acceptance as other communities when it comes to wearing wigs. So much of self worth is wrapped in in the feminine beauty of their hair. I personally am somewhere between a "Normal" woman and a wanna be drag queen. I'm in my late 30's and have thinning hair, that will likely only get worse as I get older. I wish I could just wear a big colorful wig for a luk, but it's just not acceptable as a teacher in a small town. I am on the cusp of having to buy my first wig, and while I agree the prices on these types of wigs are INSANE, I have to get something that will not be clocked by overly observant middle schoolers or socially conservative parents. I am hoping that I can combine the wig tips from Queens like Jaymes, and the "Karen" types.

there is a site called Amphigory that sells synthetic but more natural-looking wigs for the everyday wearer! they have a much less extortionist price point than miss Raquel. I've bought a couple from them and they have been mistaken for my real hair on more than one occasion. provided you take care of them (brushing, braiding the long ones when you aren't wearing them, etc.) they should last you quite a while. best of luck on your wig journey!
Invest on at least one good wig or two if they’re good at an affordable price but keep in mind and budget to go to a hairdresser so that they can cut them in a style that suits you, also pluck the hairline.
Black women have been making affordable realistic unclockable wigs for generations, I watch them for advice when I dyed my hair and needed natural hair for work. I trust black owned business over extremely expensive brands like this any day.

I was VERY curious about the Raquel wigs but to me the HIGHEST END sinthetic wigs ARE and WILL BE Wigs by Vanity. They are amazing, and with the new lace and hairline the newer styles are getting... Bye. Raquels wigs are really not worth the money, even more if you are a wig stylist/ collector that knows it's shit. I get the "Full lace" construction and I use that term loosely because in this wig is cringey. Girl you can go on Aliexpress and for that kind of money you can get a full lace 28 inch 613 human hair 250 density wig. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS JAYMES
