By the corner of the eye was known as “passionate”;
Middle of the cheek was called “gallant”;
On the nose was known as l’impudent or l’efrontée;
On the laughter lines (nasolabial fold) were called l’enjouée (“playful”);
By the corner of the lips was called a “coquette” and was considered flirtatious;
On the temple was an “assassin” and considered to be more dignified;
On the centre of the forehead was called “majestic”;
cool thx
Thanks for the info!
Thank you, I was about to do a really complicated multi tab google translation, you saved me from it!! :)
I love how you went the extra mile to rent a dress just for the video. That shows how dedicated you are!
+Alexis Noel AW! Thank you so much, Alexis! I appreciate that! I can tell you're a member of the #snapchatfamily ;) Luv u! xoxo!

I love the dresses back then but they must have been hell to wash but some of them were so beautiful.
"The more makeup you had on your face, the more fashionable and higher your social class was" - My motto, 2015
That one picture you showed (the woman is green dress) is not of Marie Antoinette but is actually of Madame de Pompadour, a famous French mistress of Louis XV. Relatively enough, she was the one who introduced heavy application of rouge or blush on the face to the royal fashion and even a bright shade of pink was dedicated to her named "Pompadour pink". Other than that, I love your video! :)
glad I wasnt the only one who knew that! lol
Landgraab Industries Yeah, I caught that, too. But, a neat video regardless.
i was about to say that :)
I'm the Doctor, and I just snogged Madame de Pompadour!
For non-Whovians: I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry.
The mole chart, also has the meaning in English but not all the meanings were translated correctly what I understand from the left to the right: l'affrontata =The fierce one, la capricciosa= the capricious one, la maestrosa=the majestic, la passionata= the passionate one, la galante= the romantic one, la baciatrice= the kiisser. So you decided to be the romantic and the capricious one!!!
Love your series! May I suggest an everyday 1910s look? I would love to see what came between the no makeup Victorian era and the dramatic 1920s!
Great idea!
the Edwardian era was similar to Victorian. buttt makeup wasn't as looked down upon. the good example for a tutorial is the gibon girl
Makeup in the 1910s was subtle and mainly used to emphasize natural features, but I think that red lipstick had become a lot more used between 1911 and 1915, before exploding at the end of the decade.
You have no idea how excited I was when I saw this!!!! I am a huge history AND makeup geek!! Thank you! Xx this was brilliant!
The dress is absolutely beautiful. And I love how you give some history and facts about the era instead if just doing the tutorial.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a historically accurate Middle Ages beauty video (specifically what the royals looked like) :)
Yaas! Not sure if they wore make-up then, but would love to see that!
+Alexandra Bourgault I also wanted to see a makeup tutorial of the middle ages :) It's what i have been waiting for
+Alexandra Bourgault I bet the belly dancers of that time had some great ideas :)
+Alexandra Bourgault they most surely didnt wear any. Remember extreme modestyand purity were really important. They were truly religious nuts (the most distinctive feature of the period) Plus anything reotely flirty or sensual would be frown upon
it's also a period characterised by its static state. On those times nothing was investigated or discovered (and they hid the books with previous scietific achievements so) it's difficult to believe they would have investigated substances to fabricate make up
Yes!! I would love that!
let me say first that I love this series as a makeup artist myself and a historian I just think it's fantastic! "Let them eat cake" is actually attributed to Rousseau, from his autobiography written in 1765 when Marie Antoinette was just 9 years old. He said in reminiscing about a spoiled young princess but there's never been any proof that he was talking about Marie Antoinette herself.
Do a Gibson girl look!!!
id be interested in American Revolution or civil war time period
that heart made reminded me of Marina and The Diamonds, maybe she got it from this
that's what I thought of when I saw the thumbnail
Lol yea I was like ohhhhh shit she rocked that Electra heart !!!!
I still draw a heart were marina had it, Electra heart lives on through us !

YES I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG

Im so thankful for this! THANK YOU!!!
I went to Versailles this spring, it was very interesting! Marie- Antoinette had such a girlie room and everything was very kitsch :p It was a sad, but passionate era of history.
I went to Versailles too! I loved her room
Great video. Most enjoyable and educational. Thank you for the research you put into this.
Zabrena, I have to say, these are my favorite videos that you do. The amount of work you put into making sure everything is accurate, even down to the hair and clothes, is phenomenal. I'd love to see you do something Victorian/Edwardian, as you have the looks to pull off that kind of dress!
Love this! Well researched and definitely worth the wait. I think an Elizabethan or Edwardian makeup look would be neat for the next in this series.
BEAUTIFUL! Loved it.
wow i really learned a lot of info's from the video thank you so much for your amazing hard work love you Z
This was awesome! Definitely make more if you can
BRAVO!!! I love tour education videos!!! You are beautiful!!!
YAY!!! I was hoping for this! :)
Was so excited to see this from your snapchat story! Great video!
Zabrena!!! You are amazinggggggg I love your channnel, your vids! I love uu
Amazing video as usual, I have to applaud you on the effort you put into these as they're always great quality and you can tell you've put in a lot of background work and research etc. Anyway I have a few suggestions that I'd love to see as part of the series, First one is the 70s disco era look, kind of Diana Ross 'I'm Coming Out' sort of thing, and the 'New Romantics' look that was popular in the 80s and finally a 'Film Noir' look, I know Lauren Bacall wore this really really well and it'd be interesting to see the comparisons and differences between film noir makeup and normal 40s makeup.
Anyway, Keep up the great work! I love all of your videos!!
i would love to see either more really historical looks like this or more alternative/subculture trends from the 1900's! these are my favorite youtube videos i live for them
I love these videos, they are so cool
Thank you so much for taking the time to research your make up looks, I love historical costume and it should be as authentic as possible if you can! You are so awesome for that!
Just randomly came across you today. Already obsessed and subscribed. I feel like I'm just having marathon of your videos. Lol.
The best video you ever made!!!

A futuristic look would be amazing. Not accurate, of course. Just where you think makeup is headed.
Amazing video ! Thanks for sharing !
The toxic things people applied to their faces is surprising! I have been waiting for this look since you fist talked about it on your Snapchat stories! I love your Historically Accurate tutorials, Zabrina, they are my favorite. Well done!
