Great tech....but I have a question....why do we put 2000 Watts into an ETX 12 top....but only 1800 into the ETX18 subwoofer???? Needs another 800-1000 Watts in my opinion ....I own 2 ETX18 subs and they run out of gas a little bit earlier than I would like.
I have nothing but issues with the ETX15P speakers, I bought a pair these after all the great reviews all over the net, but I had a DOA, and the second speaker failed after four gigs, I still can get the darn thing fix from the Authorized Repair center that EV told me to take the speaker to.
Hey guys! What's going on with the DH3 HF drivers? Firstly, they are only 1.25". Secondly, they are rated at 20w/80w. and Lastly they are recommended to be crossed over at 2KHz but you guys cross them over at 1.7/1.6/1.5KHz. Is the DH3-B HF driver you guys use in the ETX different to the standard DH3 driver? I would hope so.
how should you set up the gains in a set up up active top highs and active bottom sub... I usually i set them 12 oclock or mas maybe back it up 1/3 if its a small place or audiance...
Bob Ruers I don't think so, no amount of protection can help from a horrible signal. That's why it's better to get a good mixer to match the quality of the speakers.
+Daniel Graves I never knew a mixer would affect the workability of these work horses. I`ve had my share of failures with these EVs but still love the sound they produce when they behave. I am not sure they built for big parties because that dipping in sound when it heats up can be very annoying and embarrassing. I have 2 ETX15P AND 1 ETX 18SP
Sonny AKPUDA Yeah, update, the ETX18sp is just trash. It sounds like mush at higher volumes and is VERY unreliable. Even with a clean signal i have been able to get the coils very hot. Like to the point of blowing. The ETX tops are great though, They sound great and are much more reliable
+Dj Jest Jamm What setting do you recommend when using the tops without a Sub. I use 2 of ETX15ps and 1 ETX 18SP Sub. When I use the tops without the sub, I seem to hear the bass only in the back instaed of the front. Am I missing something? It is very frustrating that sometimes I feel like facing the speakers away from the crowd to get the bass sound.
I hate the fact that EV like other speaker brands are making their speakers in China. Wtf don’t Americans need jobs you freaking sellouts. I watched videos of how they are made here in America so I purchased a pair of the EV Ekx 15p. When I opened the package they say made in China , on top of that there was a hissing sound coming from the speaker when you turned them on. So I called Ev , the called was answered by Bosch Securities so they are no longer an America brand I asked about the hissing sound they said it was normal so I returned them. Thanks EV for also selling out. I guess I will purchase Yorkville speakers that are probably better and they are completely made by our neighbor Canada 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Nine Video are you Recommending a EV Speakers ?
Just wondering, does the TEMP limiter protect the transducers against clipping singles from the mixer as well??
