I have 2 x 35ps which are epic on their own but also have the 18" subs and OMG what a sound! Of course, I had to started power lifting to cope with the 200kg weight 😜. I mix my live tracks in my studio between the studio monitors and one 35p at the back of the room and the translation is near 1:1. Being able to trust that the frequency / tonal balance and low end control holds together as volume increases is vital to a live system and I've learned to trust these units to do the job. They are such a good investment and excellent for training others on.
I have 2 of these and they are a beast!!
Thinking about purchasing 2 of these and maybe adding a sub within a year or 2.. How do they preform without a sub?? Worth the money? ? Thanks

I have had these since November 2016 I bought the 12p ETX, I bought these and I'm having problems with them clipping already ? I'm a soloist singer, I've only ever set them up on ODB same on my mixer, I don't drive them at all, I even have a BBE Sonic Maximiser, I use DYNACORD mixer newest model unpowered version, yet my EV ETX 12p have been clipping I'm very disappointed after spending over £2000 on these, I used to have EV ZX5 15" powered with Crown XTX 4000 amp lovely sound flawless never missed a beat in 9 years, wish I'd kept them, only reason I changed was carrying to much for a soloist, will be contacting EV really disappointed.
Brilliant review though.
Neil Cox if you're having problems you probably have them set up incorrectly.
Did you contact EV and what was the solution to your problem with theses speakers ???
I had the same problem with my brand new etx. They had a faulty amp from the factory. So I had to take them back and changed the amp. Nothing to do with the drivers.

Tell me again why they would only put 1800 Watts into the sub cabs and 2000 Watts into the top cabs....John....please ask the question for all the inquiring minds....
IMO...I think you need more power in your tops for clarity and for distortion prevention. A distorted top is more pronounce than a distorted sub.

Well these where the best speakers before jbl release the jbl srx series...... 1 jbl srx speakers sound like 2 etx with 1 etx sub .....
Jbl could never touch what ev does. Been through quite a few jbl's used to be a huge fan. Made the jump and will never go back.
Don't know how you figure that. The JBL PRX835W is their equivalent to the 35P and it's the same price but 500w less and without the digital control?! Anyhow, in raw performance terms both companies products are much the same... silly comment.

This is a great speaker..But the weight 94 pounds turned me off.
I'm pretty sure that if you have to lug these around your event is way more than 150 people. I would buy for my big rig setup which pays for that weight! Then you have your regular setup for small gigs. Don't take these to a wedding, lol.
LOL I use the E.V.ZXA5's @ 60 pounds and they can do 200 people easy with a Yorkville LS801p...
