All of this made me want to buy these for the new business that I'm trying to start.Keep on doing what you are doing,The industry needs people like you. Have a good one, GOD BLESS YOU BRO'
I've got 2 EV EKX15p's with an ETX18sp and Damn does this system sound incredible!! I'm seriously impressed with the sound quality, clarity and BASS!! I love Bass and this beast is the bomb! You feel it throughout your whole body and it really thumps which is just what you want from a quality sub. I'm looking at getting another 18sp for larger events and coupling them for that extra 3db. Just one of these alone is out of this world so I can't imagine how phenomenal coupling 2 together with that extra 3db and power is going to be. It's gonna sound insane!!! :) :) Big love for EV after much research and I haven't looked back after getting this set up.
Just an FYI. Con regarding this sub. I need to tighten all of the screws every 4 gigs or so. At first, I didn't notice the rattling of the sub until my 9th gig of using it. But now, every 4 gigs or so to make sure there's no rattling. Another con, the DSP levels of protection can be a bit annoying if you don't have two of these subs. I only use one of these subs and the bass will drop off at some point later in the night because it's protecting itself. But I guess it would be worse if my speaker didn't do that and got ruined. I suggest getting two of these behemoths, if you have the room to transport them. Another minor gripe, the wheel placement. When I lay the sub down on the floor in the position for use of the sub, the wheel kinda lifts the speaker because it's not flush. Small gripes, otherwise, great speaker for all occasions.
i had one of this sub and i paired it with yorkville psa1s powered sub and the combination is perfect.the etx give the clear low end bass while the yorkville give the thump

QSC makes a great product no doub the KW series are fantastic and they sound great. But that being said, they absolutely cannot hang with the ETX Series. The EV ETX's are on a Completely different level and absolutely obliterate the QSC speakers. Wattage does not equate to volume. THE SQL is no Joke real life power and clarity. I have no regrets selling my QSC's and upgrading to the EV ETX line. You absolutely have to hear them perform to understand. As for you bad experience, Everyone gets a bad devilery once in a while. When I ordered my 2nd set of QSC KW15's one of the speakers was DOA when I got it. I did not panic or think for an instance QSC was selling an inferior product. I know sometimes these things happen. I called my dealer and they shipped me a new unit right away and they paid for the return shipping of the bad unit no questions asked. Maybe you did not set your DSP's correctly. But to say the EV's are a bad product sorry but you're way off course with that statement. Peace.

Arnoldo, great review. I just received my ETX18sp last week and used them for a gig this past Saturday. I bought 2 of them and OMG, these things sound GREAT!!! I'm so happy with my purchase, I'm using them along with 2 ETX15p and it is a great sounding system. My only concern is the I have the LED set to turn on for LIMIT and they seem to light up earlier than I thought along with my subs. It looks like a bunch of fireflies at night, lol. They never sounded distorted but I did notice later in the night one of the 15Ps was in TEMP mode and at -4db....I turned down the volume a little put it back at 0db and rocked out the rest of the night. Arnoldo thanks for the vid, i value your input. i know you gave the Yamaha DXS12 a great review. im trying to decide on the two. i know its two completely two different sized speakers but what do you think between the two?
+DJ-SpecializED Mixes I wouldn't even consider one sub for the job of another. The EVs are for larger events, and I wouldn't bring them for smaller events.
+Arnoldo Offermann Thanks for the reply, I chose 1 Ev 18sp for the time being. i dont do HUGE events so i think it should be plenty. Famous last words LOL
Do these speakers have a high pass filter? So that you can hook up loud speakers to it? I saw it had Low Pass in the beginning of the video, but no mention of high pass
had the EV ETX 18" and sold it within the year....the bass drops on these after a few hours of being played. I also had the ETX 15" tops and the woofers on both speakers started rattling so I contacted Bausch and they replaced them but it happened again so i got rid of them and these tops are definitely not 2000 watts....so disappointed with the 15" and they also clip early dropping the bass right away, overall the 18" ETX are well built and it thumps but again the bass seems to drop on these also when they clip...I think 2 of these would be just fine but keep in mind these are huge subs.
Thanks Armoldo for great review just picked up 18sp and 35p can't wait to play them at my next gig. Subs sounded lot deeper n louder then kw181, couldn't tell different between kw153 n 35p didn't mess with the eq may be that's why.
I was going to purchase the yorkville ES-18p but it couldn't get as deep as ETX in my opinion. ETX 18 beats the breaks of the Yamaha, yorkvliles, QSC and JBL single 18 inch sub. I would suggest using a drive rack or other crossover
Hello.I have a pair of the EKX 18SP's and like to set up one on the right and one on the left. Mostly for aesthetic reasons. Looks cleaner and brides at weddings don't like to see that one speaker turned backwards when using cardioid mode. Do you have any suggestions for keeping some of that low end out of the DJ area and onto the dance floor? Thanks.
Hey there ! I need a help about something. In our church, i have 2 zlx15p and will buy another 2. You think that 2 subwoofers ETX18SP or EKX18SP will be the suficient for me? the church has 400m².
I am Thinking about getting 2 ev Etx 12 or 15p and a single ev etx 18sp. And I have two questions... Should I get 12 or 15 in for my tops? I will be having a huge variation in venues and in my head I was thinking if it was to small of a venue, I could just drop the sub and use the 15's. But I heard that the 12's would go better with the sub. And my second question is will one 18 in sub be enough to do a dance in a average sized school gym? Or should I look at getting 2 subs? Thanks!!
Parker Lane You should get two 12's and the 18 as the sub can take the bass notes and produce them much better then a 15 that has to handle vocals. You would need at least two 18's for a school gym if you want impressive sound and good bass coverage. Hope this helps.
Watched your review of the ETX subs compared to the Yorkville's and that got my curiosity going. Ended up getting 4 of the ETX18SP's and dumping my LS800's. I do school dances/weddings/corporate events and these fit the bill regardless the event. Pounds when you need it and looks pro at a corporate event. The Yorkvilles are loud but so 10 years ago. Best move I made changing to EV. Thanks for you video reviews. Keep em coming.
Also if you think the 18's are still a little too big then look at the ETX15SP. About 20% smaller cab but still pounds hard and has the same DSP as the ETX18SP.
just curious i too have 4 ls800 and want to switch to the etx...but do they pound harder than the yorkies? the yorkies hit hard i know they can be boomy but a 15-31 band eq can tame that....i just dont want to be disappointed in the sound output if i switch..
i have two of these with 2 15p tops I'm looking to get a subwoofer speaker pole an having a hard time deciding wanted to get a PCL35 pole what would you recommend?
I have a single ZXA1 sub right now, and with my 12" tops I'm having a hard time deciding if I should add a second one, or start collecting some ETX15SP subs and 12" ETX tops. Really drooling over the ETX line. Do you think one would be better than a pair of ZXA1 Subs? For now the tops are ZLX 12" powered EVs. Thanks for the videos!
yeah, I've been thinking about that too, backup. I really like these little guys and they do make some noise, considering. I live in a rural area and there aren't many "large" venues near me. The largest would be the HS gym, next would be a couple of the churches and the smaller gyms at the middle school. I'm thinking that for now, the second ZXA1 Sub fits into my expansion plans better. Later, when I need more, I should be making the $$$ to pay for the expansions from doing more gigs. Thanks again for the input and videos. Keep shining bro.
Was curious what this sounds like compared to the KW181. A friend of mine has a EV 18" and said if it doesn't have a cooling fan on it it will shut off from thermal heating if pushed to hard. Not sure which model but he said it's atleast 3 yrs old. That is the upside of QSC they don't experience shutdowns due to their built in fan and the warranty of QSC is just a plus. I'm sure this is a terrific sub no lie but built in fans are a must just my opinion.
I ordered the 15sp sub. Now Im reconsidering. Im mainly doing gigs by myself. How truly manageable is the 18 sub? Say I have to lift it into my SUV and about 4 stairs leading into my apartment. Im sure I can lift it for a couple secs, but with all the different scenarios overall what do you think?
I almost bought this sub too. I went with a second KW181 because it fit in my 4runner on its wheels standing up. Now both fit barely and I have room for my EV ELX 15's. Depends on your SUV. Weight is 114 ETX 18 vs 88 for the KW181. At the end of the night if I do a gig solo that makes a big difference. BUT if I had the room and and extra hand I would be an owner of the EXT 18's.
Master Ninja I know the specs well on all the subs. I've been using the KW181 for years with my DJ homies. Best powered compact 18 sub on the market IMO. However I don't mix and match and I also can't wait to hear and use the DSP settings on these. Weight is always an issue, but they layout of these seem manageable. I'm gonna go to my local GC and see if they will let me lift the 18.
TOPCHOICEDJSELECT I love my KW181's. At first I didn't like not having all the same line of speakers but when the lights are off you can't tell. Arnoldo uses Yamaha tops and Yorkville and now EV bottoms. I believe because of the design The Yorkvilles will outperform these EV's. 140db york vs 136db EV. I think the KW's are perfect for me. I can carry these, they sound great and it fits IN my truck.
+Richard Velazquez I was in your situation last year. Contemplating between ETX18sp or EKX18sp. At the time, size and weight was a major factor for me. I had listened to both in person. ETX definitely the better sub quality and output wise. But considering the price and size/weight (70lb), the EKX was awesome. It would fit in a sedan and can be handled by one person. Ended up buying the EKX. One year later my situation has chAnged: I now have a SUV and get help if needed to transport gear. So looking to replace my EKX with the ETX. Consider your personal situation and choose the right piece. If size/weight isn't an issue get the ETX.
Good in-depth and informative video..... as always! You always produce excellent videos that myself as a fellow DJ appreciates! Keep up the good work!!!!
+Apache Cai The RCF is much more expensive. The 8004 will perform better however the EV has more features and costs half of what the RCF does. I think that the ETX is better in terms of value. When put side to side i don't think they would be much different
@@GearItFirst What are you using mostly now? Also what are your go to subs and tops for your big events including outdoors gigs for big crowds, i heard that these new Yorkville es Subs are killer to anthing out there now under 2 thousand bucks, and cheaper now than the ev etx sub and i was impressed by the e t x 18
In warranty repairs they play the blame game and tried pitting us against a local repair facility they use. And honestly Yorkville hasn’t sounded good in a long time… Yamaha DSR series will crush anything Yorkville has
@@GearItFirst ok thanks for the info so you don't use ev anymore either? So yamaha dsr beats everything out there including ev etx. I misunderstood you i thought you said you haven't heard the new es subs.
I have one jbl prx718xlf it’s too heavy and has more power than i need. Will my sound suffer if I get these and use one and add another when I need it?
Well if the JBL has more power than what you need, I don’t think suffer is the right word… It sounds like you’re trying to find the right tool, and this may be it!
I have the 2 15 top and 2 18 subs etx . I feel like I'm not getting a lot out the tops . I go from mixer to sub the to tops . You have any pionters on setting the speakers or something I'm doing wrong .
The cervin will sound louder and more SPL since it's a horn loaded design ..just look at the sensivity 106db so 146SPL max vs 136 SPL max on the ETX..but it's a horn so it's more DJ oriented and "horn" sounding ..the Bass reflex on the EV etx is more accurate and more "hi-fi" but lower SPL ...so it's not a fair comparation ..they are different kinda sub technology...for different applications ... Hope i brought some light ..cheers!
Great reviews! I like how thorough you are.. So I have to ask....EV ETX18SP or YAMAHA DXS18.. I play drums in 9 bands and I am trying to get the best subs and PA mains. Or is there some other company you like?
Oy vey! You picked the two subs I used the most. It's really a preference. I own both, tbh. If you can find both to hear side by side, I'd def do that. Both have pros and cons.
In simplest terms what they are named is Irrelevant! They are EQ settings, they could be named (Setting 1 & Setting 2) or ("A" & "B") or ("Peanut butter" & "Jelly") use what sounds best for your circumstances.
Hey Arnoldo. I just got two etx-15sp. Now what is the easiest way to load them into your trunk (In my case, a Honda CRV) did you load them in with a ramp? Thanks :-)
Hi Arnoldo, how are you?anyways do u knw how do i pair this etx18sp sub to a zlx15p?do i need to loop from the top to the sub or isit from the sub to the top?and where will it goes to the mixer?and what is the crossover unit number?80hz,or 120hz?
+Arnoldo Offermann wow...too bad im still confuse..if theres a vdeo to it that will be great..i mean a step by step from the mixing board to the speaker/subs
yayyyy im so happy, cudnt wait..since i do have 4 zlx15p and 2 etx 18sp..but i dont knw how to connect them via the high pass( i just recently knw its actually call high pass ) heheh since im in a band..i usually use 2 ev zlx 15p as top front house and 2 for monitors..do i need to pair the monitor to the sub too?
Ahmed Ariez if you have the subwoofers in cardioid mode playing out towards the crowd and you have two monitors on the stage you should have them in full range mode in the monitor location setting so that you can have full range response to the players. I have four zlx12p speakers and a sub so I know what you're talking about
I have talked to many people who are very smart when it comes to PA and we always have the same conversation. Should I go for the EV ETX18SP or the ALTO BLACK 18S. Both subs are very good, loud, deep and efficient. The EV has slightly better bass reproduction and slightly more punch. However the ALTO goes slightly louder, is lighter but has no casters or advance DSP like the ETX does. Which would you prefer (Not taking into consideration that you own EV's)
I've heard the Altos... and they are more distorted. I like that I can push the EVs hard as hell and they won't cook. The Altos are cheaper, but may not last you as long.
+Bum Lover +Arnoldo Offermann hey guys In my country the Alto is like half the price of the ETX18SP - which would make it the best choice? (especially when compare to QSC KW181, EVs ETX 18SP and ELX118P, RCF8003 and FBT Mitus 118a?) What about the deepness of the bass guys please? Black 18s specification states absolutely amazing 29Hz-and up for frequency response -3dB (and not the lame 'frequency range') - can you actually hear it? Does it go down so low? many thanks
I have seen a lot of reviews about the subwoofers. My problem is a Dj never does these products justice.. Not like a live band situation and the problems that come with it....how about a review on that
LOL-- you're kidding right? What do you mean "a DJ never does these products justice?" I've never seen anyone screw up sound as much as a live band. ;)
I think what antonio is asking, is that DJ music is pre recorded and mastered in a studio usually, so when its cranked through these speakers or any speakers, theres natural punch that allows the bass frequencies to be turned up loud without blowing the speakers. But when you are dealing with a live band, you have most of the time live drums, bass guitar and guitars and keyboards vocals etc,(after being mixed to the best of the sound mans ears and years of experience),,,,,All those frequencies and sound come out of the speakers at one time.. SO,the big question that me and many other musicians wanna know is, will these speakers handle a live band or will they heat up and shut off during a performance? Because all I've seen on youtube thus far on the ETX line of speakers is ALL DJ vids...ps,you are a very informative reviewer....kudos...
Your statement about spl vs soundquality is not true. There’s a link between how low the sub goes, and how loud. If you have several horn subs stacked so they go low enough, the sound quality that they can produce is amazing. You’ll have minimal distortion and the bass just feels amazing.
+Nicolai Grymer uhhh.. i never said the two are mutually exclusive. Quite the opposite. I said subs either aim for SPL or SQ. This sub, like other high end companies, aimed for what is known as SQL.
That’s not true whatsoever lol 2 horns that can only play down to 35hz , stacked on top of each other will not magically play 30hz, you can stack 8 together it still won’t produce 30hz
+Arnoldo Offermann How does the Yamaha DXS18 compare with the EV ETX18SP? Look very similar in size. Yamaha is lighter 110 pounds and less depth 28 inches I believe. I am a Yammie fan!!
+Arnoldo Offermann Do you think 2 Yamaha DXS 15subs or 2 EV EKX 18s subs for a larger wedding or school gym? I did the school event twice with 400-500 kids with 3 Yamaha DXR15 mains only but I strained the mains. I just need a little thump! I hear the EV EKXs have clipped and rattled in back by sub owners. Yamaha has a 7 year warranty.
Well maybe I'm being harsh. But for subs that big it has some stiff competition. I'm sure they're great. I almost went with the 15 but decided on KW181s because having 2 was easier. ETX subs do pound but they are so big. EV had a period of questionable build quality a few years ago with the ELX series. I know a guy who just got one - hopefully I'll hear it soon.

How do they sound on low volume do you still have low bass at lower volumes? I'm maybe getting one for my biggest music studio for dance music
Thanks Armoldo for great review just picked up 18sp and 35p can't wait to play them at my next gig. Subs sounded lot deeper n louder then kw181, couldn't tell different between kw153 n 35p didn't mess with the eq may be that's why.
What is the RMS watt for ETX 18sp?
would love to see/hear how these subs compare to Yorkville's ES-18p's...
I was going to purchase the yorkville ES-18p but it couldn't get as deep as ETX in my opinion. ETX 18 beats the breaks of the Yamaha, yorkvliles, QSC and JBL single 18 inch sub. I would suggest using a drive rack or other crossover
Also, what's your comparison to the Cerwin-Vega SX?
Hello.I have a pair of the EKX 18SP's and like to set up one on the right and one on the left. Mostly for aesthetic reasons. Looks cleaner and brides at weddings don't like to see that one speaker turned backwards when using cardioid mode. Do you have any suggestions for keeping some of that low end out of the DJ area and onto the dance floor?
Thanks.
Great review thanks I have some JBL SRX815's Do you think they would work good with them?
@@bumlover1167 this is late but why would you want an 18inch sub vs a 15inch sub?
Do the outputs have a hi pass filter to the tops?
Mark Guilaran Glad my videos helped!
just curious i too have 4 ls800 and want to switch to the etx...but do they pound harder than the yorkies? the yorkies hit hard i know they can be boomy but a 15-31 band eq can tame that....i just dont want to be disappointed in the sound output if i switch..
Look on my channel... I did a comparison. :)
i have two of these with 2 15p tops I'm looking to get a subwoofer speaker pole an having a hard time deciding wanted to get a PCL35 pole what would you recommend?
Does the 3 way dsp speaker protection transfer across to ekx subs also?
This is certainly a great bang for the buck subwoofer. I'm just curious how it will hold up 5-10 years down the road?Same thing
I've been beating the shit out of it and it still sounds new! Thanks for watching!
Nice review! I realy like ETX and ZLX Electrovoice producs !
Thx!
which pair would you recommend? Pair of these or pair of yamaha DXS18?
I have a single ZXA1 sub right now, and with my 12" tops I'm having a hard time deciding if I should add a second one, or start collecting some ETX15SP subs and 12" ETX tops. Really drooling over the ETX line. Do you think one would be better than a pair of ZXA1 Subs? For now the tops are ZLX 12" powered EVs. Thanks for the videos!
A pair offers more versatility + backup, though.
yeah, I've been thinking about that too, backup.
I've pushed the hell out of mine.. no shutdown.
TOPCHOICEDJSELECT
i own two kw181s..seriously, i think they are the best. just voicing my opinion.
This sub EATS the KW181.. I'll be uploading a shootout between the ETX and York real soon.
I can lift it in and out of the van by myself. :)
Hi, would i be able to use the ETX subs with ELX tops? If so how can the subs be configured? Thanks
Absolutely awesome review. Thank you so much!!!
+watchman316ly Glad you liked it!!
Nice review. Have you got a chance to use the etx tops yet?
Thanks.. and not yet.
awesome, Im looking at getting some right now, I own the ETX 15" tops and they are awesome! I can't wait to get the subs! do you still recommend?
+Richard Velazquez I'm a fan of matching systems as they were made to work together. :)
what about getting the ekx sub instead of the etx? what do you recommend?
The EKX was made to be more affordable than the ETX. Obviously the ETX is more powerful.
Good post, Joji. Thanks for sharing!
How would they hold up with a live setup for a band..having monitors and speaker placements near walls and microphone.
Just fine
Good in-depth and informative video..... as always! You always produce excellent videos that myself as a fellow DJ appreciates! Keep up the good work!!!!
Robert Houpe Thank you!!
Will cardioid mode still function properly if these subs are next to each other rather than stacked?
Should, yes.
I just watched your video and I couldn't read the DSP. So, my question is; does the ETV 18SP DSP have a setting to use the EKX 15P as your top?
Yes, just cross both of them over at either 80hz, 100hz or 120hz
What tops (mains) would you buy on a 1500 dollar budget?
dj hustleman $1500 each or total?
Arnoldo do you think these would sound ok with two Mackie Srm 550's? I don't want to upgrade the entire system. I'm looking for a good sub.
Not a fan of ANYTHING Mackie-- but these subs will help make anything sound good. :)
I'm tempted to wait for the EKX-18SP's but waiting until early May is too long.
Get these then ;)
How would this compare to the JBL VRX918SP?
+DJJASONPRODUCER I don't use JBL- sorry I can't help there.
+Arnoldo Offermann 👍
Thanks for watching!
No doubt I watched a few of your videos keep it up am a ev owner also 👍🔊🎶🎧🎤
Sweet!
Cool video, Arnoldo! I like the cardioid feature. Had you have a change to compare this EV with the RCF 4PRO 8004 Sub? Thanks.
Apache Cai I have not- but thank you for watching!
Arnoldo Offermann What's the size of the voice coil in this sub? Thanks.
I believe all that is on their site. I don't have that part memorized anymore. :(
+Apache Cai The RCF is much more expensive. The 8004 will perform better however the EV has more features and costs half of what the RCF does. I think that the ETX is better in terms of value. When put side to side i don't think they would be much different
where would you set the line level on this sub? 100%
The speaker that is by you right ear at 10 seconds into the clip? Is that a sub or a full range on the pole? I can see that it is a ev
dj hustleman on the pole is a full range, not sub
Arnoldo Offermann However, the sub is photoshopped in as part of the video, so it looks like its on a pole.
What are the best powered main speakers (single 15 ) to compliment the etx subs
Match 'em up! Check out the ETX-15SP. There's a review on my channel, too!
Arnoldo do you still love and own these? How do they compare with the newer yorkville es 18? Thanks for any help
I won't touch Yorkville anymore, their customer service has turned to shit.
@@GearItFirst would you mine explaining a little more what went wrong and how they responded if any response in warranty or out of warranty?
Awesome vid!
Thanks! FIRST!
Hi Arnoldo , I really like you lighting software both case have you done any reviews on it ? Or pic will be nice I like that idea .
Thank you
+armada173 Yes- CompuShow. I have an entire playlist devoted to it. Thanks!
1500 for the pair what would be suitable or better than passive peavey sp2s?
dj hustleman That's not a lot of money... Check out the EV ELX and ZLX series.
what is your opinion on the 18sp with a set of Mackie 1530's used with V- Drums....thank you.
Hmmm... tbh, I don't use nor like Mackies. :( I really couldn't tell you anything except the EV has enough settings to be paired up with ANYTHING!
I guess thats what I wanted to know, thank you for your time!!!!
Paul Goegebeur Glad to be of help!
I have the 2 15 top and 2 18 subs etx . I feel like I'm not getting a lot out the tops . I go from mixer to sub the to tops . You have any pionters on setting the speakers or something I'm doing wrong .
What do you mean not getting a lot out? Give me a bit more detailed and then I can help from there.
Great video bro
I just got a pair of ZLX 15 n hopefully they work well with these subs?! I can’t wait to try them out thanks
They should work if you set the frequency cutoff setting on both systems.
hey Arnoldo ..what subwoofer sounds louder the EV ETX18SP or the Cerwin-Vega JE36C Junior Earthquake..
I've not used that one, so I can't comment. :(
ok thanks
The cervin will sound louder and more SPL since it's a horn loaded design ..just look at the sensivity 106db so 146SPL max vs 136 SPL max on the ETX..but it's a horn so it's more DJ oriented and "horn" sounding ..the Bass reflex on the EV etx is more accurate and more "hi-fi" but lower SPL ...so it's not a fair comparation ..they are different kinda sub technology...for different applications ... Hope i brought some light ..cheers!
Great review as always
Thx! Please share!
What is the two type of inputs to the sub. Those are not XLR?
They are... XLR with a ¼" in the middle so you can plug either/or.
@@GearItFirstthank you for responding.
I wanna hear these! I own the kw181. I love it but it would be awesome if there is a better 18inch subwoofer out there.. Maybe the etx18?? Maybe lol
Well YES!
Both have pros and cons.
what kind of speaker is on that pole above the sub?
DJ Hustleman Yamaha DSR115. I also own the ETX-15SP
can you use double inputs with this sub
+Worrell York Yes
Arnoldo Offermann ...I run mine with a splitter into both inputs. It seems to have a bit more 'kick' to it, but will it do any damage to the unit?
What was the idea of having a "live" and "music" setting? When you are working at live gigs, aren't you most likely mixing music?
In simplest terms what they are named is Irrelevant!
They are EQ settings, they could be named (Setting 1 & Setting 2) or ("A" & "B") or ("Peanut butter" & "Jelly") use what sounds best for your circumstances.
any idea how these compare with the new jbl SRX series?
+Jorge Ardon No idea; so sorry :(
This guy is praising this sub he obviously hasn't heard the Srx 818 sp. it destroys it
^ Yeah? You own both?
+Arnoldo Offermann yea it retails for 1600 and came out in mid 2015
If the SRX "destroys" it, why did you buy the ETX?
Does anyone have any go to vids where i can hear a live band using the ETX TOPS and BOTTOMS any combo,thanks...
I got one and its about to tear a building apart
dj hustleman hey sir I've 2 15s already how will it sound in my church seats 150 people
Just be careful because you'll loosen every single nut, nail, screw and neighbors brains with this fucker.
SQL: structured query language?
Kevin Yuliawan Music SQL is a car term that combines SQ (Sound Quality) and SPL (LOUD)
Awesome review. Thank you!!
Excellent review!!!!
hy if i have 2 ev zlx15 and 1 ELX 118 P is enough for a 200 people weding
Depending on room.. but don't see why not?
I do partys for a school with it work good
Hey Arnoldo.
+Ahmed Ariez You can go either way, as it has a full range pass-through. You could try passing both @ 100hz respectively.
+Arnoldo Offermann wow...too bad im still confuse..if theres a vdeo to it that will be great..i mean a step by step from the mixing board to the speaker/subs
yes, I can do that soon :)
yayyyy im so happy, cudnt wait..since i do have 4 zlx15p and 2 etx 18sp..but i dont knw how to connect them via the high pass( i just recently knw its actually call high pass ) heheh since im in a band..i usually use 2 ev zlx 15p as top front house and 2 for monitors..do i need to pair the monitor to the sub too?
Ahmed Ariez if you have the subwoofers in cardioid mode playing out towards the crowd and you have two monitors on the stage you should have them in full range mode in the monitor location setting so that you can have full range response to the players. I have four zlx12p speakers and a sub so I know what you're talking about
Great review man!
Arnoldo Offermann Thanks Arnoldo
+Bum Lover
+Arnoldo Offermann
hey guys
In my country the Alto is like half the price of the ETX18SP - which would make it the best choice? (especially when compare to QSC KW181, EVs ETX 18SP and ELX118P, RCF8003 and FBT Mitus 118a?)
What about the deepness of the bass guys please?
Great review!
+Switch Ireland Thanks for watching!
review the EKX18SP please
+maizesoft I don't own it, but it's the same just not as much power. It was made to be an affordable version of the ETX. :)
+Arnoldo Offermann How does the Yamaha DXS18 compare with the EV ETX18SP? Look very similar in size. Yamaha is lighter 110 pounds and less depth 28 inches I believe. I am a Yammie fan!!
At this point, it's really which brand you like best. They both sound great, but I haven't done an A/B yet.
I'd be more torn between the ETX and DXS... the EKX is a mid-level EV sub. Go ETX should you choose EV.
SICK explaination B|

show me the subwoofer that is inside the box then i will decide if i purchase this sub.

not great subs. you never hear anyone rave about them
LMAO.. OK, bud. Stop hanging around cheap DJs. ;)
