giusta osservazione. Carbtune è poco preciso. Per la mia bicilindrica BMW utilizzo un vacuometro DIY fatto di semplici tubi trasparenti Molto, ma molto più preciso. Infatti le regolazioni fatte con Carbtune si sono rivelate errate.
I have the same year, 2000 cbr 600 f4 and need to clean carbs and tune. This video is very helpful, but would love some more guidance, if possible. I want to do it right. I love my bike and want to make sure she is treated with care.
It's better to sync it at cruise RPM (3000 or so) not at idle as that's where you are driving at it the most. It may result in a lumpy idle from throttles that aren't perfectly matched, and may look and soudn way out of a sync at idle, but it'll have a MUCH SMOOTHER cruise where it counts, vs a smooth idle and a surging or rhythmically popping cruise.. Former motorcycle mechanic for 15+ years....
So you could just adjust the idle tuner to bring up the idle that high, right? I could take it to a shop and have them do it for about the same price as buying a carb tuner new... not sure ifI should undertake it or just have the shop do it for me.
Tuning and Synchronization are not the same thing. Tuning is setting idle mixture/float height/(maybe re-jetting) to adjust the carbs to meet the fuel needs of a modified or stock vehicle to be started and running without hesitation in the application of throttle. Synchronizing cannot make the vehicle run, but is done on a running vehicle using a reading from vacuum at the engine intakes to determine if each throttle plate or slide is at the same adjustment so that the equal airflow is achieved, which helps with idle smoothness and throttle range smoothness of a properly tuned system. If an engine is idling at e.g. 1000RPM, whether it's running lean or rich according to the fuel adjustments, the cylinder still has a fixed volume of air displacement at each stroke as constant as the RPM remains relatively constant creating vacuum. Even if you Synchronized the carbs on a special make-believe vacuum bench that is exactly like the condition of a running constant motor, you would still have to Tune the fuel screws for those carbs to start a vehicle and run correctly. Is this getting through?
Can the Carbtune device you featured be used on 1,2 and 3 cylinder bikes also? My 4-wheeler is 1 cylinder, cruiser is 2 cylinders and I'm looking at purchasing a 3 cylinder sea doo .... Just coincidence they're all different!
+Gerald Patterson Just fyi though. This syncs carbs, not cylinders. It was a bit misleading. Some 2 cylinder bikes only have 1 carb, no need for it to be synced. This is only if you have multiple carbs.
Hey u got the same bike I have I have a different issue on mine on my end of my spark plugs it have oil or gas on the end of the tip and it's kinda wet , people say it the seal and gasket in side the engine do u have a video to show me how to change that ? And thx u this video help me
Thanks for the video I have a 1995 CBR and it looks very similar to this. Hopefully its as easy as u make it look when my tuner arrives this week. Thanks a ton!
Uhhhhhhh what are you going to tune with a single cylinder? You might want to learn what the tool does before you start doing stuff. Carb tuner synchs your carbs. If you got one cylinder there's nothing for it to sync to that's your master. Unless your single cylinder is out of wack for whatever reason, I guess you can kinda tune it.
I just did a synce on my bike and now my throttle gets hung up and the bike doesnt drop revs immediately it hangs for a couple seconds it did not do that before sync thanks
If your revs don't drop quickly, generally that means you are running lean or you have an intake leak. A carb sync alone would not cause it to run lean.
GRRR FIRST OFF YOU SAY 3 AN 4 ARE ON THE RIGHT IE FROM CLUTCH SIDE THE LEFT STARTS 1234 THEN START GOING ON ABOUT 1 AN 2 AGAIN BUT THIS TIME ON THE BLOODY RIGHT WHEN YOU START ADJUSTING U PUT THE SCREWDRIVER ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND SAY RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF 1 AN 2 LOL SO WHATS THE RIGHT WAY START 1 TO 4 FROM LEFT OR START FROM 1 TO 4 FROM RIGHT FFS.
Best vid on carb syncing
Most important check before all the hard work, hook all 4 inputs together to check the carbtune measures the same on all four scales from one source.

If not same result ? what can we do please ?
@@willow3268 the background spins so they be set the same 😎
Great video. I'm just getting into riding and I had no idea the intricacy involved with proper carb performance.

first screw was 3&4 . engine cylinders go 1 2 3 4 from left to right
Yes it is bro...
Very high quality video (thanks for the HD), and that bike is CLEAN!
Thanks, you have the best instructional video on carb balancing.
Very well put together, thank you for getting straight to the point.
So recommended before carb balancing, check valve clarances, oil and plugs?
Yes very good and well explained video. I’ll have a go at my zephyr now. Fingers crossed 🤞

grow a pair and buy 1. they are awesome if u get motionpro sync master
Q/How can you replicate a part load cruise at 3k without a dyno?
@MegaStick93 I'm pretty sure the original poster (@David Andruczyk) is right - you adjust the idle speed to 3000rpm then balance the carbs
@MegaStick93 Absolutely - who cares about idling? We want our bikes to have smooth response when we're moving, not when we're standing still
Can this be done on Honda Hornet 600? As I've been told u need to remove carbs completely? Please answer if u can thanks
nice but for a how to - you havent shown how u used the kit?
I sync. Tune and sync again. Seem to get good results

My bike doesn't have tubes that go to the airbox because it isn't the California version. So how do I do this??? I cant figure it out
Τhere are two types of cbr600f "Y" and "X" who can tell me if "X" is the ultima light` and if it is 99/00/01 mod. Thanks from Greece

+Gerald Patterson Yes, they can be. It's easy as just letting the extra hoses sit there.

Lol single cylinder engines have a single carb no sync needed may just need to be adjusted
awesome high quality detailed video thanks alot! really me out on my 2000 cbr 600 f4

What is the screw size for vaccum port ? is it 3.9mm ?
can we use this before cleaning carbs?
What carb tune kit is that looking to purchase one but can't find that style only the gauge style ones
It's a (Morgan) Carbtune Pro, their website is www.carbtune.co.uk/
Thanks for the video I have a 1995 CBR and it looks very similar to this. Hopefully its as easy as u make it look when my tuner arrives this week. Thanks a ton!
How was it? Im waiting for mine to come in
Is it also thebsame way how to sync cb400?
does this work with a single cylinder bike and would you just run it the same way with a pipe to the engine?
Repdan1 A single cylinder engine is just that. Nothing to balance.
Use a Colourtune

I just did a synce on my bike and now my throttle gets hung up and the bike doesnt drop revs immediately it hangs for a couple seconds it did not do that before sync thanks
Did you use a DIY or home made carb synchronizer ? If so you didn't do it right. And also your air/fuel mixture could be lean.
Nuwan Srimal used a diy gague set maybe i didnt set it to the rigt vacum
If your revs don't drop quickly, generally that means you are running lean or you have an intake leak. A carb sync alone would not cause it to run lean.
Always use a blowing fan in front of the engine.
You mixed up the 1&2 and 3&4 when you went screwdriver on... needs an audio edit.
Haha no way the grinder disc swapper used to ride my exact bike 😂 👏

If was having a few problems because you forgot to rev after every adjustment.
Good tutorial though
im using 5000rpm to sync
It's not mercury, these are metal rods
You're arse about face with your cylinder numbers.
1 is on the left then 234 as you go towards the right.
thang of khowhow
yees in 5 min but you need a 40 min tool
Hello, I borrowed some of your video for editing my own video here : ua-cam.com/video/tFgidKIZHno/v-deo.html
Thanks again ! :)
Mercury🤣 really?
