  • Motorcycle carburetor syncing : Electronic Carb Sync Tools
Motorcycle carb syncing has to be one of the most satisfying tunes you can do to carbs in my opinion. Typically, this service needs to be done either after a fresh carb overhaul or at least every 24,000 miles. Carb syncing should be the very last step you need to do to finalize and really fine tune everything you have worked so hard to accomplish.
As you all know I stand behind my K&L motorcycle carb sync set for everything that I do. For the price, it delivers total and complete value in my experience. I run carb syncs on bikes weekly and need tools that can hold up..
.But what else is out there? Is there anything else worth the money? Absolutely.
Lucky for me, the guys from both PRO MOTO TOOLS and THE-DIGI-SYNC reached out (at different times) and asked me to use theirs. I don't like spending my time reviewing products. Bottom line, some are helpful and many channels make that content that I do enjoy. I personally don't like doing it. So whenever somebody reaches out to me with a tool or product. I try to be as honest as I can.
If I don't like it, people will know. If I do like it...people will know.
SO ALL YOU COMPANIES OUT THERE. You can send me stuff all day long and if I don't like it. You will likely never hear from me again.
These two companies however, are worth my time.
Both striving to develop state of the art tools to make techs and the DIY enthusiast's life easier.
So, let's compare them! In this video I tell you what I like and dislike about both of these motorcycle electronic sync sets.
Are both worth the money?? In my opinion YES.
Below are links to the products and tools I used in the video.

Thank you Cody from The Digi Sync team for the extra exposer! A lot of people don't realize our product even exists. When they do, they become very happy customers!

@@WiggSplitter75 The Digi Sync prices are $145.95 (2-Channel), $180.95 (4-Channel), $215.95 (6-Channel). Considering there aren't even any competing products that can do 6-channels for less than $500, we think this is an excellent value!

Good to have the workshop sessions again. Everyone will have their preference and these are mine over the Broken Moto Show.

Greetings from Poland. Nice video. I've recently seen a tool with one gauge and with 4x arrows/pointers in different colors. You sync until they become one. I was impressed. Cheers !

    Hood informative video
I thought it was interesting to see you changing the screws and how much you move them.

Nice but to rich for a shade tree mechanic. I would suggest that you make up a 4 port manifold to plug the vacuum gauges in. Hook the manifold to a hand vacuum pump and apply a vacuum. If all the gauges read the same your test gear is good.

Great video. As a newbie I would have liked a little more closeup detail on where the vacuum ports are typically located and how the adjustment screw worked and their locations. My only experience is bench syncing , looking at the butterfly valve relative positions. Your private pay 4 carb rebuilding video was fantastic and well worth the cost. Thanks.

Dsynch2 accurate 2Kpa. It is 0,2% tolerance. Tool indicate 1023 Kpa, ambient pressure, it is high, so no rain at your location ;)

Sweet blue CB750 sitting behind you. I bought a Morgan CarbTune Pro to do my carb sync's. What are your thoughts on that one? On my CB750 it's really tricky to get the tubes plugged into the 2 middle carbs. I bought some longer brass tubes but the choke linkage gets in the way and I've broken 2 of those longer brass tubes trying to sync my carbs.

I think the industry standard Tecmate Vacuummate is still my fave and better than these. It is digital and doesn’t computer so for that reason I like it over Proptech.. I would still carry K&L kit in my toolbox tho. Best bang for the buck compared to Motionpro etc kinda units.

    Excellent video.
The Prop Tech "manual" (if you can call it that) valve-clearance stuff wasn't over your head, it was just mainly nonsense (probably largely due to awful translation).

The bike it was used on uses a HVA valve train. That motor has 4,724miles. I for one am NOT going into that system to dial gauge HVA lift and shim those HVA’s. On a tappet style or shim over/under. Sure why not.

I believe K&L offers a less expensive twin dial or four dial set. Check them out!
Bike master also sells a pretty nice kit at half the cost.
