Pls make this a series. That subreddit is just a goldmine of some of the best and most unique/creative setups I've seen. Stuff that you wouldn't generally cover. Maybe one video monthly for the most upvoted posts of that month
@P.K he also hearted another one, he might do it again
@P.K i hope he does it
Yes !!
i feel like this subreddit should be in Setup Wars, like a separate category
Agreed
Yeah it should be call Reddit Wars
Setup Wars - Reddit Edition
@@Some_one10101 agreed
yes
You can fully press those buttons in the VR sim. Pretty slick setup there.
Do you have to micro calibrate everything to make sure that the controls are exactly where they should be on the VR headset vs IRL? I feel like if the VR is just slightly off it would make trying to touch the physical controls very awkard
@Wendys Im honestly surprised you got that handle
@@B1SQ1T Yes, the distance and positioning must pretty much match up. You can do some adjustments with VR headset positioning in the game too with some adjustments. typically just get it close as you can and then adjust in game positioning in the virtual seat and head position.
Those flight setups are almost ALL playing DCS flight sim. And as noted, those controls almost ALL work. Some may not be implemented to users' choice yet. But, most will set up the buttons to be as close to the real-life setup of the original jets. Lots of FA/18, and F-16 do use different flight sticks technically and YES, so will swap out the very costly sticks too!
looked like a vtol vr or dcs cockpit with hotas maybe warthog stick or f16
Good stuff looking into this subreddit. The setups that are posted in there have some of the best inspiration for other setups. Great video, EddyBoo!
This was awesome. And since you aren’t doing Setup Wars every week anymore, content like this would be awesome to fill the off weeks
Yay, my setup 3:16 on reddit. That's where it started! Thanks for the seal of approval Ed!
nice try boyo, you're probably sitting on a windows xp Dell from 2002 on a kitchen table with a white microsoft laser mouse and Creative 2.1 speakers. stop larping, you know I'm right
great vid ed! always loved the honesty you put into rating setups. helped me alot with my own setup!!
What was yours?
I swear, I posted my setup 7 days ago from today on the Battlestations subreddit and was both excited yet terrified that you might come across it since it was posted a day before this video came out.
Though I can say that I'm always watching your videos and checking out the subreddit to make inprovements and new additions every now and then. You more than anyone have helped me the most through my setup build and even building my first pc 2 years ago and I want to provide a great thanks!
ed ur great, im so lucky i just came home and you posted this banger, cant wait to finish it!!
13:09 if the owner just swiched the middle and right pannel, it would be the perfect setup... It's the small things, damn...
You inspire me to make my set-up better thanks for posting so frequent
great vid Ed, gotta do more of these!
Fun episode, definitely make this into a series.
Just as you said I’m working at the third submission, and should be done soon!
Love the consistent videos man, keep up the good work!
Can't regret you're channel is biggest inspiration for me to build my new setup 😀
The VR setup at the beginning is fully functional. The consoles are mapped 1:1 so what you see in VR will be the approximate location of the actual buttons. When mixed reality becomes more advanced we will see huge improvements in the physical assets to improve the VR experience.
Nice to see you back !
Thanks for being such a consistent and great youtuber. I love your videos and they motivated me to build my own custom pc packed with a humble i5 13600k and an Asus Tuf RTX 3070. Thank you so much for your great content and keep it up.
great specs bro hope u have a nice time with that bonker pc
ive had a similar system since april 2021, 5600x and an rtx 3070, and i’m confident to say you will enjoy your system for years to come
these are cool, I like the reaction part which is somewhat hilarious, and the creativity part that inspire us to tweak a little our own setups, thanks a lot Edgar, I love your content... I'm finishing my own setup so I can send it to Setup Wars. and BTW in the monitor-less sim rig, if you watch closely, you can see that the buttons are functional but there are no screens on the panels, so you can touch the buttons, but the screen interaction is through the VR goggles...
my day gets better once i see a new post from techsource!
Ed, thanks again for another great video! 😊
That cabin in the middle of the woods is amazing 🤩 but not the set up itself. I can understand why people voted for this setup which is only because of the cozy mood it gives.
I can see myself living at this cabin, drinking coffee and watching movies but I would definitely do something different with the set up otherwise it just doesn’t go along with the overall theme.
I thought the same until I saw the full glass doors I would be scared sleeping there in the middle of nowhere

You're actually hilarious man, great video! Lots of cool setups I am using for inspiration for my own.
The 2nd to last setup is probably one of my favorites. Especially if they bottom monitor would have been touch screen, and a higher end PC. I think I would have also gone with a deeper desk as well to open it up a bit more.
Love this video ed. Please do more!!❤
"Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do" lol.
Had a ton of fun watching this. I'm not too busy in the reddit world, so this gave me some extra exposure.
your comments are always accurate. i couldn't present your show better than you already do ^^
Great video, I hope for another one of these :)
idk why but these vids are so comforting and entertaining : )
You should react to all of the setups that you have had, I feel like that would be a fire 🔥 video
(your the GOAT)
Dude love your channel you hava great on camera skills and good humor.
Whoaaa wasn’t expecting to see my setup here. Thanks for the 9/10!!!
yo i wanna see urs can you put a time stamp

"What in the CIA is goin on here?!" I LOLed at that
Flight simmer, here. Yes, people who have VR setups like to have physical buttons, often laid out 1:1 of their favorite aircraft to get full immersion. In something like DCS World, non-VR users use the mouse to click as many buttons in the virtual cockpit as programmed or program whatever buttons they want to either their joystick, throttle, or some other button box. The guy @ 2:45 has his gear with an F/A-18 Hornet layout, with three MFD's (multi-function displays) and Hornet joystick. You can even see the MFD's have a screen in them to use without VR. Looks like a Thrustmaster Warthog (A-10 Warthog) throttle. Pretty expensive collection of flight gear. The base/frame/chair alone is probably $1,000.
Wow that’s super cool. Thanks for the insight and explanation!
Yo I wanna say I've been a fan since before setup wars ever existed. Keep up the good work bro!
personally i keep my desk leg in the center because i lean on my desk quite a bit and i can feel the weight shift/bend the table

the message is "Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do"
we love u Ed!!! you always make me happy when you post something!!!
5:48 "Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do." It's actually not just "Follow your dreams". It emphasizes the responsibility aspect involved in pursuing a passion.
13:12 they’re waves, each panel is a continuation of the last panel, it’s actually satisfying imo lol
Love the vids man been watching for years ❤
The flight sim setup is built for DCS (Digital Combat Sim) and is an exact replica of a F-18 Super Hornet. It is scaled so that when you use controls in real life they respond in vr and it tracks where your hands are moving so you can see what controls you are activating instead of just guessing.
Yo thanks for the info! the commitment some of these fellas put into it never ceases to amaze me
“Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to to”. lol
Cable management looks like my pubs during the pandemic. I'm crying 😆
The sliding TV!!!!!!! mind blowing
I love your videos so muchhh man
I knew ed would cover r/battlestations eventually! Such a great sub with a lot of creative and interesting setups
sweet series loved all these set ups - the cabin setup was the best 10/10 - as someone who does music production for a hobby and loves the mountains i totally get that setup, although the red gaming chair was a bit unique :P
That 2/10 set up sent shivers up my spine. Judging by the roof, thats a shed. Thats 1 rain storm away from a really bad day 😱🤯
I have a flight sim setup but not with VR or advanced controls like that, you can actually interact with the external controls, buttons and levers so that its a much more realistic flying experiance in addition with VR
I get so excited when I get a notification that you posted
In the Last Setup, the 2 big TV's are the Same models judging from the looks of mounting which they STANDS on.
U should do MORE off THESE videos!! 🔥❤💪
8:26 I work at a news station as a photog/editor and I can vouch that our directors have the same setup in the booth and routinely do this with just two eyes. It's fun to watch them work. Same with our master control engineer who monitors all of our channels our network is responsible for in our local area.
That flight sim for vr near the beginning is likely for DCS. They remake the cockpit as in game you can push all the buttons in the cockpit. It's pretty sweet. This way what you see in vr is also right in front of you. It's a labour of love
In regards to the TV Station set up at 9 minutes, that's quite a normal amount of monitors for a broadcast production space and I would assume is operated by 1-3 people. My work is very similar, and yes, your eyes get very tired after 8 hours in those rooms.
I love this video I watch all your videos your my favorite youtuber!
Owner of the setup shown at 7:27! Actually have changed a few things from the setup. Thanks for the 7/10. Will try to get better this year!
Awesome 🙏🏻
Nice video Ed!
I have a balcony setup like 14:41. When it rains or you go to sleep you just put a plastic cover over it. There is a balcony on top of it, so only shear winds will push rain into the setup. Thats easy to handle. You also see that there is nothing on the ground that gets in trouble with standing water. I put my computer iMac (with 2 Thunderboldt Displays) inside only when we have a strong storm warning. I love to be in nature when working. Especially the smell of the fir trees should be great and inspiring
I can't stop following this channel
OMG
Oh the portal mirror setup! One of those "I wish I thought of that" add-ons.
awesome idea, love it
If you make this a series, I would be happy Ed!!!
14:00 at least he goes outside unlike the rest of us
Beautiful long video worth every second.
great vid as always
Love the channel. Definitely inspired by all the clean set ups, and making changes to my gaming set up with all the recommendations you give.
I also ordered one of your awesome mouse pads a few weeks ago to replace my huge 48x24 mouse pad, but it hasn't arrived in the mail. Any idea why it's taking long to get here?
Thanks for all you do my guy!
Thanks for the kind words man! I will submit to setupwars as soon my setup is finished AGAIN lol, currently starting from scratch for some fine tuning
Looking forward to it!
Damn that dog blends in well at 24:35
the reaccion to see your setup is amazing!!
For the news station work space, there are several people uses and looks at those monitors. It's usually the Director and CG operator that are up front monitoring what's going on program. Seems like the audio booth isn't even on that photo which is a 3rd person to monitor what's going over program.
That crochet setup is actually so sick
i'm actually surprised edgar DOESNT have a racing sim setup considering the car he drives
That "clapping" sound at the end💀🤣
yeah love this keep this up
14:29 Ed got me laughing my guts off
14:03 that setup, is the "honey, go and play outside with other kids" from your mom! Hahaha 🤣
man since I watch this I spend more money in a few days than I do in my whole life.... So mutch inspiration.. thx for the vid.
“Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do”
And the cockpit setup; think of it a little like this the real world controls are mirrored in VR, it’s an advanced version of showing your Oculus 2 where your couch is, but you get see the cushions compress when you sit down wearing VR
in that weird 9+ year lurking on at 24.40. when you zoom in you can see the guy has a destiny 2 armourer website open so he can change gear on the fly in the game. My man is playing D2 on this set up lol
the flight sim has 1:1 controls based of the F-18 Hornet, you can actually press them since DCS (the game) has realistic controls that sometimes need to be pressed shortly after eachother, it just makes it more realistic
Another awesome video! Thank you 🙏 hope you and your beautiful family are all well and healthy!
The hexagon gave me The Dark Knight vibes from when Batman was trying to track down the Joker/Two face and Morgan Freeman was freaked out. Also, I work at a small local station and we have anywhere from 2-3 people in the control room. But we also don't monitor that many channels. It just depends on how big the station is.
The guy with the 6 monitors I use almost the exact same setup with 4 48inch LG c2 OLEDs. The top two are interior and exterior security cameras
Granny setup is great till you accidentally drink the candle instead of your drink while intense gaming lol
number one recommendation in algorithm. probably the "reations" video are always a good topic.
“Why is it so long” - tech source 2023
8:30 yea thats like a standard for most media productions home centers, i went to college and used my internship at a place in tampa and we had 21 monitors and i was responsible for odds, and the head tech has evens. they were all numbered based on a geo/time references. i wld go home with what i called blue screen headaches. fun job tho and great for multitaskers.
Some of these setups give me something to strive for. 👌
Thanks for good videos!
the short answer is yes for that flight sim: however I believe these sim-pits are replica versions to what you see in the VR headset as well to reduce that confusion. I plan on creating a sim-pit of this caliber myself but even more custom for non VR and for space flight sims rather than aviation. this is distant future tho...(like when star citizen finally releases or leading up to that lol)
"The fact that the dog matchs the color scheme" -Chad Ed daddy🗿
I built my first pc yesterday by watching your videos, started watching you when I was 15 I’m 21 now and my dream finally came true 😢😂😂
We have a similar setup up like the News Station layout. I can tell you 1 person can totally control and monitor all those displays. Sadly as we don't play out from our station anymore we have 1 room full of monitors just sitting idle and the other dedicated to our security cameras network.
"that's a 100 dollar view right there" LMFAO
that first setup is most likely used for doing alignments, it needs to be in a more portable platform which is why a tool box is great for it
Please make this a series!
Yes dad, I need all of these for gaming
for the plane setup the game is dcs and all the buttons on those pannels work and you can press them all
lots of great setups but the ones that do it for the clicks such as the one on the balcony turn me off. The CoD theme at 12:00 was pretty cool. Glad I found your channel, new sub!
