12:03 My wife and I are also running off of one 12700K and 3090 using Aster - got the software recommendation from the LTT forum thread for one of the multiuser/1 cpu videos you did a few years back. We can't both be playing a modern AAA game, but otherwise it's flawless. Not even any of the reboot jank that he talked about.
This is how people behave when they have a camera randomly shoved in their face with a energetic fast-talking host. These people were barely allowed to say a few words while being constantly interrupted, to make them appear more awkward than they normally are. Basically this is a lose-lose situation. If you try to be your usual self you'll just get instantly interrupted by Linus (to keep video high pace). If you try to joke back at Linus you'll get roasted even meaner because Linus "can't lose".

Its obviously a meme having all the craziest setups at the lanparty. Was a great watch to see all the fans at the lan
I absolutely love all these creative computer setups. I also love that, probably like 80 percent of these computers could be beat out by a current high end laptop. It’s not about being practical, it’s what can you make work, right? It’s tech art lol.
10:10 Those are Koss KCS75's which are one of the greatest budget headphones you can get and sound even better tubed.
Exactly the mix of weird and wholesome I expected from Whale LAN
Me : rating the setups
Brain : you don't even have one
"Well, you're gonna have some trouble getting home", love it
It's not often that Linus's cringe is beneficial, but when it's around people who are super awkward and compliment it, it's GLORIOUS.
I'm all too familiar with the necessary CMOS reset of yore. Glad to see that didn't end in disaster.
i love the chaotic energy and overall awkwardness of this video lmao
2:00 I love that the guy with the sleeper PC has two towers separated by a Wintergaten Wilson Gear.
I used to use a gaming laptop with a gtx 1050 mobile, but I didnt have any mouse space so I used the plastic part next to my trackpad as my mousepad. That is how I played for 2 years.
That's nothing, I used my (very small) trackpad for everything, even shooters. I did it for like 5 years, until that laptop broke, and it was very usable. Too bad modern trackpad drivers try to ignore mouse movement while typing and don't have physical click buttons, because now I cannot use any laptop for gaming without a mouse.
You poor, poor soul
Ngl I had a similar setup lmao. Found out that a matt wood table was good a good surface for a mouse, still used to cook everyone😂
I did the same thing, but I at least had a 17in laptop and put a tiny mousepad over the plastic
@@leonro oh so that's why my trackpad doesn't work like 20% of the time when I'm moving in a game? I thought it was a problem specifically with my laptop. What is this feature called? I'd like to look up if there's a way to disable it for my particular laptop
10:44 Reimu Hakurei Spotted
Man it's so cool to see all these fun and unique setups. Nerds are the freaking best! And I love how Linus sets up to roast but then is actually impressed by a lot of these.
17:36 definetly didnt expect seeing Star Citizen in here
Let's be honest, everyone else watching this video thinks they have the worst setup
nope lmao
❤q
Fax
theres always something worse than mine
Nah, i didnt spend $3k to self hate lmao
8:50 Now that's the laptop for me
DUDEEEEE!!! YES TO THIS!!! Just relax and enjoy the love of the community you created!!! Awesome video!!! It was so good I didn't even noticed the running time!!! Great content!!!!
8:45 guy was LIVING lol he was so grateful.
Oooh, really nice with the feedback on the last problem! Really appreciate it, team!
This video was incredible, so much fun, gave me nostalgy remembering the old days when i played lan parties with some friends
Seeing all of these set up makes me really happy with mine.
I feel happy and sad for that last guy, got a brand new GPU but missed Linus.
10:44 little did linus know, all of the touhou fans own pcs like this (mine included)
One of the best videos ever by LTT ... genuine, generous, loved it!
10:20 is totally legit imho. These RME cards are super nice, high quality and the drivers are still in active development for cards that are like 20 years old. Did something similar before switching to an RME Babyface.
But that hole though.. wtf did he use, a chainsaw??
@@khx73 yeah that is rough
The weird little laugh at 4:40 makes me LOSE IT. XD
Very cool and interesting seeing all of these original setups. It's like an expo on itself.
I love this nerd tech fellowship. It's just immensely interesting! Thanks LTT!
I don't know what was talked about in this video (all the jargon went right ovet my head). However, it was cool to see people's reaction to Linus showing up. Also, a lot of the stuff shown looked cool.
I loved this! So much wholesome fun, even if a few of the voluntold participants seemed rather afraid of your chaotic good powers. Best ad for LTX ever. Might have to come check it out next year!
There may have been some hiccups, but Linus is just fun to watch. I'm glad that he put the responsibility of running the company on someone else. Knock the dust off and move forward.
yeah good for him to be a millionarie and still being a shil and thief, hopesfulyl like you said its all back and good times ahead. amen
@17:50 sums it up. "This is Apple....That's a feature, Not a bug"
8:40 omfg guy managed to grab a MARATHON anniversary Tshirt, fucking legend.
What i really like is, you guys always link to other videos when you Talk about the topic
Also love how these videos always show exactly how awkward the community is irl lmao
@@Glotttisbro calm down
@@Looskidify probably butthurt he didn't get the chance...
@@Glotttis relax buddy it aint that serious
yo chill out, have a snickers@@Glotttis
This gives me Antique Road Show vibes! Linus this would be sick to do this like once a week ,or even month. I would watch a full series of this for sure! Anyone else??
@20:45 these two were ready for that shot and I nearly pissed myself and choked on the tea that I was drinking, that's priceless.
I hope both of you had fun at LTX.
14:52 ik that face. Hes brainstorming and panicking at the same time
You can make fun of these jank-ass rigs all you want. But I've seen enough post-apocalyptic sci-fi to know that, when the bombs drop, the real pandemic hits, aliens invade....whatever....THESE are the guys we will all be turning to to save our lives.
The DDR machine at 9:36 is very clever indeed.
Makes me wonder what other arcade machines (that aren't stick-fighters and pac-clones) would be fun to make miniatures of... I wonder how tiny you could make House Of The Dead.
12:00 I actually installed unRaid back when I first saw it from Linus, and it has been a beauty. Dockers, Storage, VMs, everything is great.
After the Gaming VM video, I did actually buy ONE SINGLE PC with two GPUs to use for me and my wife.
(5950x / 64GB / 3080Ti-1070 / Dual 980 Pros)
But 5 (YES FIVE) days after I've built it and it was working flawlessly, Rust (our favorite game as a couple) and EasyAntiCheat decided to BAN VMs ! :D Damn right in the feels.
I found a way around it, "hiding" the VM, but I really wouldn't like my account getting banned. :(
This SUCKS.
nice im glad lan parties are still happening now that im old enough i can go now yayyyyy
That there whale had the Canadianest "Oh, no..." ever to come out of a human ever...
16:48 lol I got called out. Least it'll be good for 3-4 years.
6:00 i used this keyboard on my windows pc after i found it in somewhere for over a year as my daily keyboard until it finaly broke, but i mean it's a keyboard - you can press buttons so it works
Bro career almost came to an end there 12:15 I was about to say great save LInus 💀☠
this is the most amazing vibe, everyone is so unironically funny
deem that brings a lot old memories back when lan party's was a thing!
This was amazing to see... man it's CRAZY to me that they hauled all that stuff to the show... I mean if they flew in from somewhere else, how the heck did they do it? the guy with the 180lb monster of a PC... dude I hope he brought it on wheels...
Best setup to me, I actually really liked the iMac with the swivel monitor... the mini Mac and the arcade cabinet
What a great video, could've watched him going around longer :D
Little did Linus know, having a dedicated DAC for the KSC75 is actually a great idea.
I saw the Koss headphones and I was like "you know what, that set up is probably better gaming headset than mine with AKG702, at a quarter of the cost"
came here to defend the KSC75s, elite budget headphones
@@normaldog absolute nodding powerhouses
This is honestly the best video I think I've ever seen on the channel. Linus interacting with fans about their setups and seeing all of the interesting setups is incredible.
LAN Party bring a wholesome to a new level 👍
20:44 imagine if the guy had bitlocker enabled. He would be screwed lol
This brings me joy to see I'm not the only one who is ok to having a janky set up, plus even getting rewarded for it!!
5:45 Honestly, respect
thank
Love this stuff. Need to do this every whale lan
Now this some of the best i have seen all year from LTT.. i love it
