      a few differences why johnny sins can never be this guy:
      -this guy wears a gi. johnny sins is more interested in "no gi" (both "no gay" and "being naked").
      -the expert in this video is an expert in "rear naked chokes," johnny sins is only an expert in naked rear chokes (rimming?).

      If you do this wrong as he showed (with forearm across the opponents wind pipe instead of crux of elbow) you can kill someone by crushing and causing spasms in the wind pipe. This is why the police choke hold is mostly banned now after some unintentional deaths.

    I’ve been a bouncer/bartender for 10 years now. Been about 12 times I’ve had to give a crazy guy a nap. Every single time, everyone around was so horrified I was going to kill them. I always keep it less than 60 seconds. Unfortunately there are some HUGE men that are extremely dangerous sometimes that get drunk at bars and start attacking. I’d much rather jump onto his back and put him to sleep this was rather than punch him or hit him in the head till he passes out. I never used your method of anchoring the left arm into the back before you cross your arms. And I have def fucked up and didn’t have my forearm in the right position a hand full of times like you mentioned in the end. I always noticed they struggled so much harder when I messed up like that. It makes sense too ofc. Thanks for the info brother

    FINALLY someone who explains how to apply pressure by bringing the elbows together. For some reason, all the other videos leave out that tip. I got to this video by wondering if guys with skinny arms could do the rear naked choke. If you don't have big forearms and biceps (like me) then how can you apply pressure to the neck, I thought. Well, you showed me how arm size doesn't matter when you bring your elbows together. Thanks.

  • @michaelguerra5888
    @michaelguerra5888 5 років тому +1

    I dig the Spock shirt! It seems the shrugging and inhaling actually makes this hold tight more so than the hand behind the neck. It actually seemed almost irrelevant at one point grappling a guy so big, the hold was extremely tight before I could even come close to reaching behind his head. Mid 2s versus low 3s here. Most guys you see drilling, are in the area of 160-200 lbs. so there perhaps might be more space in range of the applying guy's chest and the receiving guy's upper back. I actually had my hand on his forehead when he tapped but I think the key was that the initial forearm hook was already good, so once I hooked the second arm, "the Italian driver" as you called it, that was it.

    I like John Danaher's method better where you don't squeeze the biceps, but you pull that right elbow to back using the more powerful back muscles between the shoulder blades. That method is so powerful that even if it's over the chin and even if the victim has both hands inserted and pulling out down on your arm, you can still get the choke.

    Stephan Kesting, what are your thoughts on shrugging your shoulders (in addition to your recommendations) in order to tighten the RNC?

    My bjj teacher showed us a slightly different way from his butt rather than his knees. He got the choke locked in and then rolled his shoulders back and moved his chest forward. After that he rotated his opponents head towards the direction where his under the neck arm was and keep going until the person tapped. It hurt like hell and it felt like my head was going to pop, good choke dude
