Ridiculous Move: Guillotine Choke Suplex Escape

  • Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
  • The Ridiculous Move of the Week is a standing guillotine choke escape, via suplex! We don't recommend this move, as their is high risk of neck/back injury. Instead, we provide a much safer guillotine choke escape.

another way of doing that suplex would be to use that same method of gaining momentum, but trying to gain a little more leverage, and susequently a little more height, then bridging over so the opponent lands more on his back than his head

Hey guys sorry if a comment on this has already been made. I wanted to suggest a little alteration to the techniqe Stephen showed. I learned this same move many years ago, but until recently had trouble using it on men who were just really a lot stronger than me.
Even once you loop your left arm up over their shoulder like that to take the weight of the choke off your neck- their posture will not be broken, and getting around to that other side is made truly difficult. A kindly friend showed me however that if your right hand moves down from controlling the choking forearm (as Stephen suggests and I was originally taught) and brace it on your opponent's thigh or knee, and straighten your arm out... You can perform a sort of really easy human flag maneuver (I'm not very strong, s'why I call it easy), leveraging on your opponent's shoulder then instead of just hanging on it. This breaks the posture of even excessively strong people. This technique *also* pushes your hips around to the opposite side of the hand-on-knee, getting you over there where Stephen went to use his own knee to lever and break the stability of Shane's right leg- keeping you from having to do that shuffle Stephen did to get into that position.

It wouldn't be illegal in MMA competition, at least according to the refs in Oregon state commission. At fighters meetings you're told "If you're putting me in a submission, I'm aloud to try and escape it. If my escape is slamming you, It's on you to release it for your own safety." If it was an intentional spike maybe? However I've seen dude's get caught it an armbar from guard and slam the opponent on there head for a KO and get declared a winner. Who knows?

1:30 Von Flue choke all day, if Shane doesn't let go of the guillotine at this point all the black belt needs to do is clasp his hands behind Shane's head, drive his shoulder into Shane's neck and squeeze. I hit this all the time, it's my go to guillotine defense against white belts who don't let go of the guillotine when they should. :)
