    Yeap! Robot says:
    "Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension
    "
Well, now, don't you tell me to smile
You stick around I'll make it worth your while
My number's beyond what you can dial
Maybe it's because we're so versatile
    Style, profile, I said
It always brings me back when I hear, "ooh, child!"
From The Hudson River out to the Nile
I run the marathon to the very last mile
Well, if you battle me I feel reviled
People always sayin' my style is wild
You've got gall, you've got guile
    Step to me I'm a rap-o-phile
If you want to battle you're in denial
Comin' from Uranus to check my style
Go ahead, put my rhymes on trial
    Cast you off into exile
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
Jazz and A.W.O.L, that's our team
Step inside the party, disrupt the whole scene
When it comes to beats, well, I'm a fiend
I like my sugar with coffee and cream
Well, I gotta keep it going keep it going full steam
Too sweet to be sour too nice to be mean
Well, on the tough-guy style I'm not too keen
Trying to change the world, I'm going to plot and scheme
Mario C. likes to keep it clean
    Gonna shine like a sunbeam
Keep on rappin', 'cause that's my dream
Thank Moe Dee for 'Sticking to Themes'
Now when it comes to envy y'all is green
Jealous of the rhyme and the rhyme routine
    Another dimension, new galaxy
    Intergalactic, planetary
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
We're from the family tree of old school hip-hop
Kick off your shoes and relax your socks
The rhymes are spread just like a pox
'Cause the music is loud like an electric shock
I am known to do the wop
Also known for the Flintstone Flop
Tammy D gets biz on the crops
Beastie Boys known to let the beat
    Mmm, drop!
Now when I wrote graffiti my name was Slop
If my rap's soup, my beats is stock
Step from the table when I start to chop
    I'm a lumberjack DJ Ad-Rock
If you try to knock me you'll get mocked
I'll stir fry you in my wok
Your knees'll start shakin' and your fingers pop
Like a pinch on the neck of Mr. Spock
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
    Intergalactic, planetary, planetary, intergalactic
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension, another dimension
    Another dimension, another dimension

it's crazy to me to think some people haven't heard this song. I've been a beastie boys fan since I was a kid, probably around 10 or 11. I had heard the name "beastie boys" on tv and some music clips, but had never heard hip-hop like that before. I didn't know what to make of it.
I saw Licensed to Ill at my local library, and hid the explicit content sticker with my thumb so my mom would let me check it out. I put that CD in when I got home and it blew my mind. The attitude, the subject matter, the swagger, the language, the rhymes. Life changing, dude.

I remember when the "Fight for Your Right" music video hit MTV - funny song & silly video, but it sparked my interest... Hmmm, who are these guys? So I went out the next day & bought their first album - Licensed to ill. That was in 1986, I was 19 yrs old. Now 53 and still listen to it's classic groundbreaking songs - No Sleep Till Brooklyn, Brass Monkey, Paul Revere, Hold it now-Hit it, She's crafty (that's a funky one), and my favorite - Girls! When Run DMC teamed up with Aerosmith on Walk this way, that introduced us to the novel idea of music fusion, putting two genres together. So you can say that they opened the door for that idea. Then shortly later, the Beastie Boys show up to kick that door off of its hinges. That first album is loaded with heavy beat drops perfectly paired to sick rock guitar riffs. I think you will enjoy listening to their early stuff & how their style evolves over time, but still retains that distinctive Beastie Boys sound that we all know as soon as it starts playing. :-)

This came out in.... 1998, if I remember right. This was their response to the entire Bad Boy era of rap (Tupac, Biggie, Puffy, Nas, Mace, etc), right after the entire gangsta rap phase when everyone was talking about smacking their women up. They were told that they were past their prime and that the game moved past them. This was their response, because they made their game back when it was fun to rap, make up stuff that was just fun and funny.
They were one of, if not the only group to really survive from back then. LL and Will Smith went into acting. Run DMC was either done or was right before when Jam Master Jay was killed.. Grandmaster Flash was gone, Kool Mo Dee (who they gave a shout out to in the 3rd verse) was gone, Whodini was gone.. the Beastie boys kept it going, and those track was huge in bringing them back.

These guys go back to the origins of Hip Hop. These guys have been doing their music since the late 80s and the music still stands up to today's stuff...and still sounds a lot better.

At the risk of outing myself as ancient...Fight for Your Right came out when I was in college in the late 80s. They’re truly originators...music and video. Inducted in The Rock Hall a few years back. Have fun getting to know their broad catalog!!!

I recommend always watching the official video for Beastie Boys songs whenever it is an option. They put a lot of effort into the visuals for their music.
