Sabotoge by Beastie Boys should be next 😊 One of my favorite music videos
They started out playing punk music, and were early to catch on to rap. You can hear a lot of those influences in their music and how they arrange it.
I am not allowed to listen to Sabotage before work. There are some things one simply isn't to say in the workplace.
@@sarahtob7657 kinda like Cypress Hill's How I Could Just Kill A Man.... guilty of rolling into work while listening to it 😅
I second sabotage
I second sabotage
Sabotage... EXCEPT the live version on Letterman is THE BEST!
No Sleep Til Brooklyn
I second this. And brass monkey, Fight for your right to party, Paul revere
I think you mean... "NO..SLEEP...TILL... .... BROOKLYN!"
Love this song I have the CD
I was seriously expecting this comment to have a thousand upvotes
Girls 🤣
“Paul Revere” is my favorite. The beat reminds me of “Drop it like it’s hot”.
Yup, this one!
Drop it like it’s hot was 20 years after Paul revere
@@DWQJVB I know. They remind me of each other.
Their best song!
Couldn’t recommend this one more
Also if anyone is interested listen to this song and fallow it up with cypress hill “busted in the hood”
"Brass Monkey" is a club hit from the '80s that still gets played today.
That funky monkey 😆❤️🔥
C'mon, y'all, it's time to get nice.
i heard that is a reference to the maraahahhajajawana.
@@fightingidiocy7724 lmfao no... brass monkey is just a very shitty malt liqour drink
Brass monkey tht funky monkey . Brass monkey that monkey sire is funky ..😂
It blows my mind that people havent heard Beastie Boys before, they are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 30+ years of greatness, always. They dont miss.
Check out "So Whatcha Want", "Shake Your Rump", "Paul Revere", "Hey Ladies", "Get It Together ft. Q-tip"....
of course, these people have heard of Eminem and the Beastie Boys they just pretend because people give them a lot of views.
Of course he’s had to of heard the beastie boys, the most successful longest lasting hip-hop group that has ever been around.
Agree. I'd say that in these reaction vids they are either pretending they don't know or once they hear it they are like, "Oh right, this one" and keep playing along.
“3 MC’s and 1 DJ” and the song they did with Nas “Too Many Rappers” are definitely worth checking out. “Root Down” is also phenomenal.
root down is the most underrated BB song
Yes, i was coming here to say 3 MC's, and if not just for the video being a live take and Mixmaster Mike being a legend..
License to Ill was a great album it was groundbreaking
Yes, the whole album was great.
They be ill'n!
Still *is* great!
Early 1986 we witnessed the first time merging of rock & rap when Run DMC did a cover of "Walk this way" by Aerosmith. They cracked open the door to give us a peek at this new fusion of music genres. Then a few months later, a former punk group turned rappers named The Beastie Boys dropped their first music video on MTV titled "Fight for Your Right" & kicked that door off of it's hinges. No one had ever heard anything like it before. I still remember going out to buy their album, Licensed to ILL, the very next day. It's been 38 years & I still listen to it. Their music & videos are iconic. You never knew what you were going to experience when one of their videos dropped.
This song came out 12 years later in 1998 & it was a huge hit, among many others they wrote. My all time favorites are: Paul Revere, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, GIRLS, So Whatcha Want, Three MC's and One DJ.
Please, please go further down this rabbit hole. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Sadly we lost one member, MCA (Adam Yauch), to cancer in 2012. Shortly before his death, The Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They were pioneers of rap music & helped to kick start the careers of other legendary rappers such as LL Cool J.
Don't forget about Anthrax and Public Enemy "Bring the Noise"
Rap rock was going on before that. But I was coming up in the NYC scene and underground was doing it before mainstream. But i get what you mean. Beasties were rapping prior to Licensed dropping too. Good times
@@DannyP-dm1pwyeah she basically copied all of that from an article- there was a ton going on underground before Run and Aerosmith brought it to the masses…mos def good times 🎉
@@DannyP-dm1pwIt brought that mainstream kind of like how Blondie brought hip hop to the mainstream with Rapture
@@thetannareefor sure. I remember 7th grade and the only place you could hear rap was on BET at night and being made fun of because I liked “#^*?+* music”. Then all of a sudden those same dumb white girls were wearing Beastie Boy shirts acting they were hot shit. They had no idea who Doug E Fresh, Slick Rick, Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow were. I’m not bitter but dumb bitches.
I’d say their most iconic song is Fight For Your Right to Party. But personally, I feel their second album, Paul’s Boutique, is their absolute best. Try reacting to Shake Your Rump, High Plains Drifter, Egg Man, Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun or Hey Ladies.
Me too
Hey Ladies! 🎵
@@scapito Love that too! And GIRLS! All I want is GIRLS;.. Too many songs.. What a great band
"Hey Ladies!" 😆❤️🔥
Can't forget Shadrach!
This song absolutely BANGS on a badass system
The music video to this song was intentionally made to look like "Power Rangers" because it was paying homage to classic Japanese monster/robot TV shows like Ultraman, which themselves inspired Power Rangers. The American version of PR was actually a re-dressing of the Japanese series "Super Sentai." All of the Megazord scenes, Rita Repulsa scenes, Lord Zedd, etc were scenes from Super Sentai. The in-betweens (Angel Grove fights with putties, Ranger fights with monsters, Command Center scenes, etc) were then shot with the American actors and edited together to create the American version.
Oh thank Gd. someone already laid the wisdom/nerd down. Bless you
Hits in any direction you choose. 'So Watcha Want' and 'Pasd the Mic' off of their 3rd album (Check Your Head) are both old school hip hop masterpieces
Beastie Boys Root Down.
A love song for Hip hop.
3 MC`s One DJ
To Many Rappers Ft Nas.
Root Down is hands down the best... Homage to everything back then. And the one with Q-Tip.... They have a few cheesy songs early on, but they are LEGIT!
i use to dance around the living room table with my son to the beastie boys when they had their first video on MTV He was not even 2 years old then .. He turned 39 this month OMG Where did the time go???
Same only my son turned 40 a couple of months ago
3mcs and one DJ is as simple as hip hop gets and its fire.
Wow. I didn't realize you never listened to Beastie Boys. My favorite line from this song, and maybe any song ever is "I'll stir fry you in my wok". Brilliant comeback!
Sabotage, 3 mcs and 1 dj, are some great songs to hit next.
I love that line too but "Thank Moe Dee for 'Sticking to Themes'" is probably funnier given the context
Please do 3 MCs and 1 dj. It's one of my favorites. I think you'll like it too. 3 MCs 1 DJ in one take. It's pretty great.
Paul Revere
Sabotage
Also, good. To be honest, I'm not sure they have a bad song
One take that was broadcast live on MTV and features Mix Master Mike... how it isn't everyone's first suggestion IDK
You can tell how much the Beastie Boys are loved by the number of different songs requested.
So Whatcha Want is probably one of their most iconic tracks and it's an absolute banger
This is their later hit from 1998. This video was huge on MTV. 1986’s You Gotta Fight For Your Right To Party - I bet you’ve heard that one??
3 mcs and one dj is a MUST!!🔥🔥🔥
So...Beasties...my brother, you need to check out "3 MCs and 1 DJ", "Root Down", "So Whatcha Want", and "Paul Revere". You're welcome!
The whole License to Ill album is straight fire!! Please react to Paul Revere...that's my favorite Beastie Boys song. You'll love it
It really is. Not a skip worthy song on that whole album. And I've been listening to it since it came out so can vouch for the fact that it really never gets old. Totally holds up over time.
Paul Revere is a must listen. And for a famous, "mmmm, DROP!" check out The New Style (all the way through!). Been a Beastie fan for decades. Saw them in 1992 (During Check Your Head tour). Between Beastie Boys and Run-DMC, I got hooked on 80s hiphip, including Miami Bass.
"So Whatcha Want" is 🔥
Yes! ❤ not as played as Intergalactic or Sabotage, but 🤜💥🤛
Here are some more Beasties Boys songs to check out:
HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER.
PROFESSOR BOOTY.
FINGER LICKIN GOOD
Love this AB ❤️🔥 i still have my Beasties 'License to Ill' album on vinyl from my tenth bd (1986) 😆. Next recommendation, "Three MC's and One DJ" = 🔥! 'I like my sugar with coffee & cream' 😊❤
The entire album is a jam. Every song!
@@hatleyhoward7193 facts ❤️🔥
First time?! Boiiii! Lol. This one of my fav old skool hip hop songs. Beastie Boys are legendary.
I wouldnt say this is their most iconic song, but it is definitely my favorite.
If i had to vote for their most iconic song, I would have to vote for either "You Gotta Fight for Your Right (To Party)" or "Paul Revere".
In 1997 a few friends and I entered the Daytona sound off. We used a 97 Pontiac Grand Pre GTP. We used Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys and took Second overall. We had two 12" and one 10" subwoofers a single mid and tow highs at a total watt output of 3500 peak rms. We lost to a van with 40 subwoofers and 12,000 watts peak rms. Not a bad day. Not saying it's worth it but try Frozen off Madonnas Ray of light. Raise all of your bass enhancers. This track has a hidden bass note. Check it out.
Paul Revere is a classic off their first hip-hop album, but the whole album is great. Their 2nd album in the genre, Paul's Boutique, is amazing and showed a rapid evolution.
3 MC's and One DJ was later in their career, but it was a throwback to old school hip hop.
The tracks I really love aren't the famous ones. The Beasties are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They're iconic and everyone in hip-hop respects them absolutely.
This was decades ahead of it's time.
Love these reactions by people who have never heard of the people that created their on genre… this song has been sampled a couple million times. 😂
Beasties are an automatic sub. Top three all time music groups for me. There are so many songs that are great, so just react to their first four albums, then do the EPs, then the instrumentals, then the rest of the albums. The fun part is all of the music you have heard through reactions will help you recognize more of the samples.
Time to graduate to “SO WHAT’CHA WANT” … it’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Like others have said,ThreeMCs and One DJ HAS to be your vey next listen. PURE rap, legendary hip hop.
Ya gotta check out Sabotage! 🙌
We can thank the Beastie Boys for Travis Kelce’s “You Gotta Fight….For Your Right…..To Parrrrrrrrrrrty
They are Legends……keep coming back to the 80’s and 90’s
Paul Revere and Get it Together are my two favs!
Everytime I brag to my son I seen the original wall concert by Pink Floyd in 1980 at the nassau colisium in NY. He always brings up.. yeah mom.. but you didn't get to see the Beasty boys did ya!!! OHHHH he got me there
More B Boys!
3 mcs & 1 DJ
Anything from Paul’s Boutique
This song was #1 for quite some time IIRC.
Their entire musical library is fire.
One of the most musically and lyrically talented bands of all time.
So many layers.
There’s a clip on UA-cam of Method Man meeting the two remaining Beasties and calling them rap royalty, which they are.
Root Down, 3MCs 1DJ, Shake Your Rump, Sure Shot, Brass Monkey…all 🔥🔥🔥
Sure Shot and Watcha Want is probably the best rapping they do in my opinion.
First they were punk... holy snappers... then became one of the most influential bands ever
Adam directed nearly all, if not all, of their videos. I grew up on beastie boys, and this is one of my faves.
Listen to their entire Paul's Boutique album. It's masterpiece
Don't be sleepin' on the Beastie Boys - ALL of their videos are FIRE!!!!
True GOATS- can’t wait for you to go down this fabulous rabbit hole!!
Definitely check out their song, "Three MCs and one DJ"
Root Down, Sure Shot, watcha Want, Shadrach…. All essential hip hop
Imagine liking hip hop andnnot knowing the beasties. Holy cow.
You could never say that they didn't like to have fun. The video to me is like the Godzilla movies, the old Japanese monster movies. Sabotage and So Whatcha Want
seen in concert, a great memory...It is a great sadness the death of certain members of the group. 40 million albums sold worldwide. Great original musician, with many very different albums.
Great to see you opened up to the old school greats. Keep it up..
Shake your Rump, Paul Revere, and Sure Shot!!😊
Long LIVE The Beasties'.....!!!!!!!!! l caught them EVERYTIME they was in Town....! Great shows. . . . !
I always felt that the video is a callback to old Japanese Kaiju movies, which is what power ranger is derived from.
Nothing can prepare you for seeing a grown-ass-man reacting to a song that dropped when you were in high school & calling it Old School. The distance between 20 & 40 is 1/18th the length of the distance between 1-20.
😅
You’re in for a treat with all of the Beastie Boys hits!
Brass monkey! Beastie boys are iconic. Started back in early 80’s and paved the way with RUN DMC and others
The opening Mussorgsky's 'A Night on Bald Mountain'.
This was one of their most popular hits. You could dance to it. Little kids liked the sound effects.
Rhymin & Stealin, Egg Man, and Right Right Now Now are all classics you should check out. They also did a track with Nas on their very last album
Looking down the barrel of a loaded gun. I've never seen anyone react to it. The Beastie Boys have so many great songs. I've been a fan since 86.
fun video. Sabotage should definitely be next but No Sleep til Brooklyn and Fight for Your Right are worthy as well. I look forward to seeing more reviews.
3 MC’s and 1 DJ or Brass Monkey or Shake your Rump is my vote. Thanks for the good times! Th B-Boys always put a smile on my face. They just FUN
I always liked Brass Monkey.
jumping right into the music at the 45 second mark was perfect, man
So many hits with these guys. They've got some classics like "brass monkey", "no sleep til brooklyn" and "fight for your right" that are fun songs but not what you wanna check out if you're looking for the best hip hop stuff. For that you always gotta start with "3 MCs and 1 DJ", then move onto some of the other legends like "sure shot", "shake your rump", "so whatcha want", "high plains drifter". I'm not as into "paul revere" as some of the fans but the beat on it is sick tho. They also have an awesome collab with Qtip from tribe that a lotta people are sleepin' on.
Influential, Hip hop ROYALTY! Beasties circa "License to ill" was a vibe.
Try Sabotage, Paul Revere, Sure Shot, Get it Together (my favorite), No Sleep til Brooklyn, Fight for your Right, Rhymin and Stealin,
I remember this being good back then, but a lot music, hip hop in this case, was really good then too. Listening now really puts it in perspective and forces comarisons to hip hop now which quite franklt; there just really is no comparison...this is another dimension, literally.
Sabotage, whatcha want, Fight for your right, no sleep to brooklyn
Take your pick
Paul's Boutique, their 2nd album is way different than the first, slept on for a long time. They started stretching their musical wings on that one. That definitely led to this bop here. ❤
Lee Majors Come Again is a really cool throw back to their hardcore/punk roots with some great verses in it
Thank you for this! You’ve gotta do “Paul Revere”- its iconic.
"Licensed to Ill" is the essential Beastie Boys album, but "Hello Nasty" is great too.
Legends!!!!!
We're all waiting for the headbob......Sabotage needs to be your next song, it's legendary
The" 3 MCs and 1 DJ" would be the best to react to. It's UA-cam gold!
Beasties broke rap/hip-hop "Chuck D & LL Cool J Induct Beastie Boys into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame | 2012 Induction." .. "Fight for Your Right (To Party)", "Brass Monkey", "No Sleep Till Brooklyn", "Paul Revere" and my personal favorite ... " GIRLS" this is just deadly impressive .. .GIRLS.. Girls .. GIRLS !!!!! Two at time ..
The robot sound is my ringtone. Lol Everyone looks when it goes off. Like wtf is that ? Akong with the occasional "Hey Beastie Boys!"
I had somebody tell me the other day and it is absolutely just destroyed my brain.... Every time I listen to The Beastie boys now all I see is a montage from always Sunny in Philadelphia
ahhhhh beastie boys. you are speaking my language.
Sabotage, Paul Revere, No Sleep Til Brooklyn, and Shake Your Rump are essential to your Beastie 101.
And if you like them, check out Punk Tactics by Joey Valence & Brae. They're heavily inspired by the Beastie Boys.
Beastie Boys give me the chills every time. I regret not having seen them play live.
Paul Revere is hands down the best beastie boys song there is, which is saying a LOT because they made banger after banger.
Please go down the BB rabbit hole. Innovative and amazing! Licensed to Ill is one of the best debut albums in music history.
I've been in that train station about 20 times...lol..it's massive, during morning rush its so easy to get lost. Like I did. Twice.
Man you have to check out all of beastie boys licensed to ill album. While not a chart topper this was one of my favorites tracks from that album Paul Revere. Nice show.
Paul Revere and Brass Monkey. Paul Revere is an 808 drum with inverted sound, cause I know you will wonder when you hear it.
Couldn't imagine hearing this song for the first time in 2024 😂
The power rangers was a Japanese kiju fighting tv show, the amecrican version just added the out of costume highschool scenes separately and added them to make the american show (we got it in the UK too)
Favorite lines: "I like my sugar with coffee and cream" and "I'll stir fry you in my wok".
These guys are great artists.
simplistic tough beats, good solid lyrics that you can understand, that what im talking about
Get it together, Bestie Boys with Q Tip. Amazing song.
Yes- power Rangers/Godzilla.
Let the beat mmm Drop! Is a call back to earlier record.
And the saying a word all together is just old school hip hop such as Run DMC.
