Sabotoge by Beastie Boys should be next 😊 One of my favorite music videos They started out playing punk music, and were early to catch on to rap. You can hear a lot of those influences in their music and how they arrange it.
It blows my mind that people havent heard Beastie Boys before, they are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 30+ years of greatness, always. They dont miss.
of course, these people have heard of Eminem and the Beastie Boys they just pretend because people give them a lot of views. Of course he’s had to of heard the beastie boys, the most successful longest lasting hip-hop group that has ever been around.
Agree. I'd say that in these reaction vids they are either pretending they don't know or once they hear it they are like, "Oh right, this one" and keep playing along.
Hits in any direction you choose. 'So Watcha Want' and 'Pasd the Mic' off of their 3rd album (Check Your Head) are both old school hip hop masterpieces
The music video to this song was intentionally made to look like "Power Rangers" because it was paying homage to classic Japanese monster/robot TV shows like Ultraman, which themselves inspired Power Rangers. The American version of PR was actually a re-dressing of the Japanese series "Super Sentai." All of the Megazord scenes, Rita Repulsa scenes, Lord Zedd, etc were scenes from Super Sentai. The in-betweens (Angel Grove fights with putties, Ranger fights with monsters, Command Center scenes, etc) were then shot with the American actors and edited together to create the American version.
I’d say their most iconic song is Fight For Your Right to Party. But personally, I feel their second album, Paul’s Boutique, is their absolute best. Try reacting to Shake Your Rump, High Plains Drifter, Egg Man, Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun or Hey Ladies.
Root Down is hands down the best... Homage to everything back then. And the one with Q-Tip.... They have a few cheesy songs early on, but they are LEGIT!
i use to dance around the living room table with my son to the beastie boys when they had their first video on MTV He was not even 2 years old then .. He turned 39 this month OMG Where did the time go???
Wow. I didn't realize you never listened to Beastie Boys. My favorite line from this song, and maybe any song ever is "I'll stir fry you in my wok". Brilliant comeback! Sabotage, 3 mcs and 1 dj, are some great songs to hit next.
Paul Revere is a must listen. And for a famous, "mmmm, DROP!" check out The New Style (all the way through!). Been a Beastie fan for decades. Saw them in 1992 (During Check Your Head tour). Between Beastie Boys and Run-DMC, I got hooked on 80s hiphip, including Miami Bass.
Please do 3 MCs and 1 dj. It's one of my favorites. I think you'll like it too. 3 MCs 1 DJ in one take. It's pretty great. Paul Revere Sabotage Also, good. To be honest, I'm not sure they have a bad song
Beasties are an automatic sub. Top three all time music groups for me. There are so many songs that are great, so just react to their first four albums, then do the EPs, then the instrumentals, then the rest of the albums. The fun part is all of the music you have heard through reactions will help you recognize more of the samples.
I wouldnt say this is their most iconic song, but it is definitely my favorite. If i had to vote for their most iconic song, I would have to vote for either "You Gotta Fight for Your Right (To Party)" or "Paul Revere".
It really is. Not a skip worthy song on that whole album. And I've been listening to it since it came out so can vouch for the fact that it really never gets old. Totally holds up over time.
This song was #1 for quite some time IIRC. Their entire musical library is fire. One of the most musically and lyrically talented bands of all time. So many layers.
In 1997 a few friends and I entered the Daytona sound off. We used a 97 Pontiac Grand Pre GTP. We used Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys and took Second overall. We had two 12" and one 10" subwoofers a single mid and tow highs at a total watt output of 3500 peak rms. We lost to a van with 40 subwoofers and 12,000 watts peak rms. Not a bad day. Not saying it's worth it but try Frozen off Madonnas Ray of light. Raise all of your bass enhancers. This track has a hidden bass note. Check it out.
Everytime I brag to my son I seen the original wall concert by Pink Floyd in 1980 at the nassau colisium in NY. He always brings up.. yeah mom.. but you didn't get to see the Beasty boys did ya!!! OHHHH he got me there
We can thank the Beastie Boys for Travis Kelce’s “You Gotta Fight….For Your Right…..To Parrrrrrrrrrrty They are Legends……keep coming back to the 80’s and 90’s
Paul Revere is a classic off their first hip-hop album, but the whole album is great. Their 2nd album in the genre, Paul's Boutique, is amazing and showed a rapid evolution. 3 MC's and One DJ was later in their career, but it was a throwback to old school hip hop. The tracks I really love aren't the famous ones. The Beasties are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They're iconic and everyone in hip-hop respects them absolutely.
seen in concert, a great memory...It is a great sadness the death of certain members of the group. 40 million albums sold worldwide. Great original musician, with many very different albums.

fun video. Sabotage should definitely be next but No Sleep til Brooklyn and Fight for Your Right are worthy as well. I look forward to seeing more reviews.
Nothing can prepare you for seeing a grown-ass-man reacting to a song that dropped when you were in high school & calling it Old School. The distance between 20 & 40 is 1/18th the length of the distance between 1-20.
Influential, Hip hop ROYALTY! Beasties circa "License to ill" was a vibe. Try Sabotage, Paul Revere, Sure Shot, Get it Together (my favorite), No Sleep til Brooklyn, Fight for your Right, Rhymin and Stealin,
You could never say that they didn't like to have fun. The video to me is like the Godzilla movies, the old Japanese monster movies. Sabotage and So Whatcha Want
From wiki The "Intergalactic" video was directed by Adam Yauch under the pseudonym Nathanial Hörnblowér.[2] The storyline revolves around a giant robot causing destruction by fighting a giant octopus-headed creature in a city while popping, a parody of, or tribute to, Japanese Kaiju films (specifically the series finale of Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot).
Paul's Boutique, their 2nd album is way different than the first, slept on for a long time. They started stretching their musical wings on that one. That definitely led to this bop here. ❤
I remember this being good back then, but a lot music, hip hop in this case, was really good then too. Listening now really puts it in perspective and forces comarisons to hip hop now which quite franklt; there just really is no comparison...this is another dimension, literally.
Beasties broke rap/hip-hop "Chuck D & LL Cool J Induct Beastie Boys into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame | 2012 Induction." .. "Fight for Your Right (To Party)", "Brass Monkey", "No Sleep Till Brooklyn", "Paul Revere" and my personal favorite ... " GIRLS" this is just deadly impressive .. .GIRLS.. Girls .. GIRLS !!!!! Two at time ..
Ch-check it out on Letterman is an epic live performance of them walking the streets of NYC and entering the studios from the street -- epic performance.
Sabotage, Paul Revere, No Sleep Til Brooklyn, and Shake Your Rump are essential to your Beastie 101. And if you like them, check out Punk Tactics by Joey Valence & Brae. They're heavily inspired by the Beastie Boys.
So many hits with these guys. They've got some classics like "brass monkey", "no sleep til brooklyn" and "fight for your right" that are fun songs but not what you wanna check out if you're looking for the best hip hop stuff. For that you always gotta start with "3 MCs and 1 DJ", then move onto some of the other legends like "sure shot", "shake your rump", "so whatcha want", "high plains drifter". I'm not as into "paul revere" as some of the fans but the beat on it is sick tho. They also have an awesome collab with Qtip from tribe that a lotta people are sleepin' on.
The power rangers was a Japanese kiju fighting tv show, the amecrican version just added the out of costume highschool scenes separately and added them to make the american show (we got it in the UK too)
Yes, Rick and Morty borrowed some costumes from this video. Yes, the monsters are Power Rangers-esque because both are homages to Japanese monster movies from the '70s.
I had somebody tell me the other day and it is absolutely just destroyed my brain.... Every time I listen to The Beastie boys now all I see is a montage from always Sunny in Philadelphia
Sabotoge by Beastie Boys should be next 😊 One of my favorite music videos
They started out playing punk music, and were early to catch on to rap. You can hear a lot of those influences in their music and how they arrange it.
I am not allowed to listen to Sabotage before work. There are some things one simply isn't to say in the workplace.
@@sarahtob7657 kinda like Cypress Hill's How I Could Just Kill A Man.... guilty of rolling into work while listening to it 😅
I second sabotage
I second sabotage
Sabotage... EXCEPT the live version on Letterman is THE BEST!
No Sleep Til Brooklyn
I second this. And brass monkey, Fight for your right to party, Paul revere
I think you mean... "NO..SLEEP...TILL... .... BROOKLYN!"
Love this song I have the CD
I was seriously expecting this comment to have a thousand upvotes
Girls 🤣
"Brass Monkey" is a club hit from the '80s that still gets played today.
That funky monkey 😆❤️🔥
C'mon, y'all, it's time to get nice.
i heard that is a reference to the maraahahhajajawana.
@@fightingidiocy7724 lmfao no... brass monkey is just a very shitty malt liqour drink
Brass monkey tht funky monkey . Brass monkey that monkey sire is funky ..😂
“Paul Revere” is my favorite. The beat reminds me of “Drop it like it’s hot”.
Yup, this one!
Drop it like it’s hot was 20 years after Paul revere
@@DWQJVB I know. They remind me of each other.
Their best song!
Couldn’t recommend this one more
Also if anyone is interested listen to this song and fallow it up with cypress hill “busted in the hood”
“3 MC’s and 1 DJ” and the song they did with Nas “Too Many Rappers” are definitely worth checking out. “Root Down” is also phenomenal.
root down is the most underrated BB song
Yes, i was coming here to say 3 MC's, and if not just for the video being a live take and Mixmaster Mike being a legend..
It blows my mind that people havent heard Beastie Boys before, they are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 30+ years of greatness, always. They dont miss.
Check out "So Whatcha Want", "Shake Your Rump", "Paul Revere", "Hey Ladies", "Get It Together ft. Q-tip"....

This song absolutely BANGS on a badass system
License to Ill was a great album it was groundbreaking
Yes, the whole album was great.
They be ill'n!
Still *is* great!
Hits in any direction you choose. 'So Watcha Want' and 'Pasd the Mic' off of their 3rd album (Check Your Head) are both old school hip hop masterpieces

Oh thank Gd. someone already laid the wisdom/nerd down. Bless you
So Whatcha Want is probably one of their most iconic tracks and it's an absolute banger

To Many Rappers Ft Nas.
Root Down is hands down the best... Homage to everything back then. And the one with Q-Tip.... They have a few cheesy songs early on, but they are LEGIT!
3mcs and one DJ is as simple as hip hop gets and its fire.

Same only my son turned 40 a couple of months ago
This is their later hit from 1998. This video was huge on MTV. 1986’s You Gotta Fight For Your Right To Party - I bet you’ve heard that one??
3 mcs and one dj is a MUST!!🔥🔥🔥
Wow. I didn't realize you never listened to Beastie Boys. My favorite line from this song, and maybe any song ever is "I'll stir fry you in my wok". Brilliant comeback!
Sabotage, 3 mcs and 1 dj, are some great songs to hit next.
I love that line too but "Thank Moe Dee for 'Sticking to Themes'" is probably funnier given the context
Here are some more Beasties Boys songs to check out:
HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER.

The opening Mussorgsky's 'A Night on Bald Mountain'.

I always felt that the video is a callback to old Japanese Kaiju movies, which is what power ranger is derived from.
