I’ve always had this weird glitch, or at least I think it’s a glitch that even after the end of the whole story, and after Charles runs off, I see him walking through the ranch, and I can talk to him like he never left.
The interactions in the epilogue look a little glitchy compared to the rest of the game. I believe they rushed the epilogue because it would make sense since John's hair is a copy/paste of Arthur's.
Man I can only imagine an interaction with Arthur. John: "you feeling better, Arthur? Now that you're not in a cave like a caveman?" Arthur: "well it ain't the country club in California, but this'll do."
Sometimes I think of this as an alternate timeline where John lives out the rest of his days on the ranch with his family and doesn’t get killed by Edgar Ross
Charles is honestly the best friend John could’ve asked for. He helped him build the ranch without asking for anything in return, as well as take down Micah. Dude is the definition of a brother from another mother.

John telling his son that he won’t make him kill the cow is one of his more tender moments as a father. We lost a lot when we lost Arthur, but not enough is said about what we get from playing as John.
All these interactions are very touching and it amazes me that I still haven't seen some of them. Although I wonder if they had to rush these epilogue interactions because the animations look very glitchy.

Abigail could of been like Pearson, we could have donated pelts and meat so she could cook better dinners, and added upgrades for our house. I swear if they did that I would play that shit every day(I already do anyways😅) but seriously anybody else feel they could have done much more with our endgame and playing as John?😊

That’s just a bonus for gameplay purposes, but canonically they used that money to pay off the debt of the ranch. John even says so at one point.
