I applaud your interest and use of etiquette. So many women these days think that to be a feminist means not using etiquette because it makes them soft or compliant. I however have found that I have gotten further in my chosen career by incorporating etiquette into my professional toolkit. Hats off to you and please share more!

I agree. You don't have to swear like a sailor & wear army boots to be a feminist. I wouldn't exactly call myself a girlie girl, but I'm closer to that than anything else, and I've considered myself a feminist for many, many years.
I enjoy feeling feminine in my clothes, though I'm more into sportswear than lace (at least with the outer layer!😅)

I completely agree. Etiquette is what society is built on. From Jane Austin until today there is so much to be said for poise, etiquette & grace. You can be a feminist and also be delicate, female & sensitive.

I’ve genuinely never really noticed your background beyond really admiring the little blue bird ornament you have. I’m usually paying attention to you and looking at the images, especially on a fashion video. Love your channel, I’ve learned so much about what I can and can’t wear from you. I’ve found it so helpful.
I'm usually looking at Beebs getting mad at myself for not applying makeup the way she does. Addendum: That adorable blue bird looks like it could be Fenton Glass, of which I have about 150 pieces.

I’ve noticed her background, largely because I worked in advertising, including set direction for catalogue photo shoots, and just have an eye for detail. I once messaged her privately about the sofa backdrop, and then I noticed it changed; always wondered if I’d had a hand in that 😊🤷🏻♀️. I adore her videos and have enjoyed watching her evolution over the past year+
With that said, I did find a contrast between having such a wonderful fashion sense yet that not translating over to her YT background. Simple is best, so I’d remove the knickknacks; she could also use a digital (fake/green screen) background to further conceal her identity. And that way it could change from time to time, either seasonally or to align with the topic at hand. Just my opinion- this is a highly subjective topic🙃

A friend of mine has said “if you don’t move at 50, you won’t be moving at 60.” When you have been injured, this is so important.
So true, Sidney! I was motivated by BK in this Q&A since between being injured myself at 39, two back surgeries later, and menopause, I need the extra oomph.
I was very active until I was 83, but now ,at 87, with a recent disability, I’m pretty confined. However, am blessed with a loving and supportive family, am very happy, still have my sense of humor and thankful for another day on this beautiful earth. Enjoy the day. ❤️
@@janyth1329 It's difficult getting the motivation to "move" when you don't feel good. My wake up call is when the grandchildren wanted my to go on a walk with them and I nearly said no because I didn't feel good.

From a composition point of view, the shelves can be distracting when they are behind your head. Usually you try to avoid anything “growing” out of you head. Simply moving the glass ornament from beside the plant, grouping it with the blue bird instead, would give you a more neutral area behind your head. Move the camera slightly towards the curtain to centre.
When I first saw your work there was a homemade crochet blanket in the background which struck me as a bit amateur. Then it went away. I’ve been missing it ever since. It looked like a normal living room in countless homes, comfortable. I am pro floating shelves and the flock of birds. A personal background is, to me, more valuable than a professionally decorated set.
I agree, I prefer the personal touch also.
As a southerner I think cotillion should be a requirement. 😂
Raising well mannered children, both boys and girls, really helps them understand how to interact with people having curtesy and respect.

The only thing I would change is the drapes. They aren’t the best quality or colour but they’ll do.

Etiquette is so much more than knowing which knife and fork to use, and what glass for what wine. It helps in all social interactions, it means you can act appropriately, know how to address people and how to put others at ease. It smoothes over any awkwardness-it's not old fashioned politeness or just for posh people, we all need an understanding of social interaction and codes of conduct.

You are quite lovely and I love your videos. I make a latte and savour them. Never feel you have to explain yourself to the critics. Some people are just mean for the sake of it. I am a 77 y/o male and don't usually enjoy "fashion" channels as fashion is not an area of interest. I do enjoy your videos as you are beautiful, obviously very intelligent, and eloquent in your speech. Plus you are fun to watch! Ignore the haters as they have nothing to contribute and find fault with just about everything. In my personal life I have largely avoided associating with negative people as they are a drag to be around. Professionally my work as a Psychologist for well over 40 years made total avoidance of negative people impossible. Your insights into The MEG are spot on! Narcs are all about "me all of the time" and have heavy defense systems that deny and project negative info. NARCs can obviously be very vengeful and manipulative. Additionally, they tend to lie about everything. They will lie when the truth makes more sense!
Again I enjoy your videos and insights. Keep up the good work and take good care.

I had to stop your video a little past the halfway mark just to make this comment. It take amazes me at what people will take umbridge about. I guess some people just need to complain. I watch your channel because I find you informative, engaging, sweet and fun. I haven’t taken much notice of your background, which to me is a good thing because it means it is pleasant without being intrusive. I love hearing that you have items from your past or from memories of your past to bring you pleasure. That brings pleasure to me because I like stuff like that. some people are just born to be picky or mean or something. Ignore them. Don’t let them bug you as much as possible. And keep smiling. Hello, From Australia ! I'm at size 26 , finding clothes that flatter my body is hard but with your tips I'm getting better at choosing clothing. I love listening to you and the clips don't worry about your back ground , it's cute and not distracting.
Your bluebird of happiness made me happy even before finding out your grandma gave it to you! I think part of the reason I like it is because it reflects your graceful and positive demeanor.
It inspired me to buy a glass bluebird of happiness for myself! Mine is blue and green and it's on my little makeup desk by a window where the light can shine through it. Whatever you do with your background I hope you keep the bluebird.

A friend of mine has six children and after her last child, she couldn't seem to lose the extra weight... I suggested that she do 25 jumping jacks 3 x a day and the weight fell off of her. Excellent tip!

I don't think you should change a thing. I love your background. It's sweet, and to be honest, I'm always too busy looking at your amazing make-up. I can't believe people think it's ok to criticise your bust! It's never indecent, and you always wear clothes that flatter your figure. You can't help your bust size. I love your sweet voice and sweet nature. You are always constructive with your criticism and never nasty. Your advice has been invaluable to me personally, and I'm so grateful I found your channel. You are an elegant, well-spoken, and you should hold your head high and be very proud of the beautiful young lady you are. A lot of young women could learn a thing or two from you. It's not necessary to let everything hang out and show off everything you have just because you can. There is a lot to be said for being classy.

You know a lot of people give pageants a bad rap. I, myself was never in one. However, it was my father who provided me with a "dress up trunk". It was an old steamer trunk filled with gowns, shoes and wigs from Goidwll. He wasn't a wierdo, didn't come and look. He just wanted me, being my girly girl to have fun. And I did!
The dressing up allowed ne to be whoever I wanted🎉

very interesting. a suggestion on the back ground......get an adjustable shower rod....and different materials to "hang " from it. you will know what colors go with your skin tone. easy to change, and it's not permanent. just film below the shower rod. love all your videos, and agree 100% with your views on "the Meg".
People complaining about your background are not paying attention to your content. Your background is fine, it's "background."
I can empathise about being told you were too short; long ago when I was in my early twenties I did a fashion show catwalk for charity and fun. Afterwards I was told I would have won because my dress sense and looks were super but that I was too short and so wasn’t considered suitable for a prize 😢

I went through years of ballet, the Cotillion ritual along with making my debut. Southern girls do these things as part of childhood, teen, you adults. At least, we of a certain age. 😂🤣😂🤣 I spent most of my time off, fox hunting and horse showing. I think my parents tried to make sure I able to shoot, ski, tennis, ride, golf, etc. I certainly was not good at all of those things but I did not embarrass myself. I am fortunate to be able to fall back on all of things.

I loved your blue bird of happiness story. My daughter has that same bird. She got when she was 7 or 8 and still has it at 44. Quite an accomplishment since she was a Navy brat and we had to move every couple of years. And I, too, collect owls. My mother loved them and each of my siblings and I have at least one from her collection. My kids and grandkids each have their own owl Christmas ornament in celebration of her.
You are one of the sweetest content creators I follow, and since I spend a lot of time in bed, I subscribe to a lot. Haters suck. You're doing great.

And re your background - how can that even be an issue? It doesn't detract from you or what you are saying, it's unobtrusive while still being nice and adding a little colour... I like it!

Hi Beebs, thank you so much for sharing what you felt comfortable to share. I adore your “bluebird of happiness” especially being from yr Nana/Grandma. Brings memories to me, my wedding cake topper had 2 glass crystal bluebirds & a glass love-heart with another bluebird sitting on a swing inside the heart. It stayed safe & sound until a storm 2 years ago when water was running from our electric light fittings etc. Anyhoo had to move lots of glass & crystal & the swinging “bluebird’s little tail” broke off. Hubby fixed the tail & our little family of “bluebirds” are safely back in the crystal cabinet after house repairs. You have a bright, bubbly & kind personality a lovely voice & yr knowledge of fashion etc., is deeply appreciated. I like yr background, “you can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all the time”. Keep being yr self & always TLC 1st especially with 2 little princes to look after.
