So I’m actually a knitter and I wanted to try my hand at crocheting. It seems much faster. The only thing I’ve crocheted before this is a hat for my toddler. I’m saying this because I’ve followed along with your video on this pattern and it was so detailed and slow enough the even a beginner can keep up. I love the time stamps and the fact that you mention how many fc and puff stitches you need to have on every row as well as a stitch count. I can’t tell you how happy i am that I’ve made it this far! So, thank you for such an amazing video ❤️❤️
Oh my goodness! Mrs Wray, I am truly touched by this comment! I can't even tell you how much I appreciate your kind words and encouragement! Thank you so much! 💜💜💜
Hi am so glad I came across your channel. In your intro I was like, oh damn I need that to everything. I hope you do tutorials for a lot of the items in your intro. Congrats on your channel and welcome to the you tube yarn community
I just made two of your Bauble Bandana Cowls (for anyone reading, it's really similar to the one in this video) using this Lion Brand Heartland yarn and Caron Simply Soft, they're both so awesome! The Lion Brand is a bit more drapey, soft, and stretchy, but I like how the caron yarn feels a little less delicate. Both yarns are relatively cheap and these only took me about a day to complete so they make great gifts :)
This is so beautiful! Please keep making more tutorials! I try to only buy patterns that I can find a tutorial too so thank you for taking the time to make this video!
This is a beauty. However I need help with this cluster stitch. Would have worked if you could have slowly walked us through it or provided the link. But I’m going to struggle through and see if I can get it.
Ah! You are right. I forgot to add the links for the Forked Cluster and Puff Stitch Tutorials. Here is the link for the Forked Clustef written tutorial. I will add it to the description once I get back to my computer. Thank you for the reminder! ineeditcrochet.com/the-forked-cluster-crochet-stitch-tutorial/
This is absolutely beautiful... Thank you for sharing... 1 little question... I suffer with lung issues and have to keep my back warm... So I wondered if I could easily attach the shawl part backward onto the hood? Thanks
I'm so sorry you're struggling with that! ❤ This would work well actually. The hood part is a tube, so it's reversible. So all you would have to do is make the cowl with hood as instructed and wear it backwards! I've actually seen a few people wear them this way. I quite like it! 😁
Hi, @adiegiese23 ! I found that if you did the whole triangle part of the cowl with the same sized hook there was an obvious hump in the middle. Changing your hook size mitigates that. 😊
Ah, you're right! Sorry about that! I used approximately 440 yds for the Bandana Cowl and 650 yds for the Hooded Bandana Cowl. So if you use Heartland like I did, you will need 2 skeins for a regular bandana cowl and 3 skeins for a hooded cowl.
@@INeedItCrochetDesigns sorry for another question it is not quite clear in video or pattern when to use larger and smaller hooks is the larger hook only for the fork stitches rows?
@@Browns_hotmess_homestead I don't mind the questions at all, so don't be sorry! ☺ You switch to the larger hook when you start row 4 and you use that hook for the rest of the pattern. No switching back.
@@INeedItCrochetDesigns ok awesome thank you so much I was starting on the 1st repeat after row 9 and got confused I'm still learning to read patters but can follow a video but I've mostly followed the crochet crowd and fiber spider this is my first time making something like this 😍
Going forward, it might be more helpful to be counting stitches out loud as you go ( like most crochet videos) and explain the forked cluster. Really inconvenient to have to see another video to learn how to do it
I would love an explanation of the fork cluster and puff cluster in this video so that I don't have to do a lot of back and forth video jumping. It would make the whole project go A LOT faster and smoother.
@@INeedItCrochetDesigns thank you so much for responding! I can’t wait to try this pattern with the hood. It’s so pretty! Is there a picture of the hooded version somewhere?

When I find videos of things that I want to crochet I like to have the written pattern (if available) pulled up and follow along with the video and the written pattern simultaneously. I cant help but notice the differences between each, is there a reason for this and which one do you as the pattern maker prefer?
Hi @alexandraphillips7212. In the video I'm following the written pattern, so I'm not sure what differences you're referring to. Could you give me an example?
Oh jeez, when I typed this comment, I was sleep deprived and it was super early in the wee hours of the morning. I was looking at the pattern for the Phaseolus Bandana Cowl, this video popped up on the same page and I took it as the video tutorial for the bandana cowl pattern I was looking at🤦♀️ I guess this is why they say don't start new patterns at night right?! I'm so sorry for any confusion, im going to go hide in my yarn stash now...

Question..are you back to the smaller hook again when you repeat the pattern???
Same question here..
Soooo beautiful how many yarn did it take pls, i will make it thank you
Thank you, Doaa! The cowl pictured took 450 yds of yarn. If you are making the hooded version, it would take closer to 650 yds. :-)
Love it thank you i subscribed 😊
You are so welcome. And thank you for subscribing! 😁
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks
You're very welcome!
Love the pattern, I'm new to the channel. Can bulky #5 yarn be used for this project.
Hi a hardy. The pattern was designed with #4 worsted yarn. You could use #5 bulky, but it might make the cowl a bit bigger.
Thanks
