I absolutely love prince of death's staff. You might say that leveling both faith and int isn't that great but oh boy are you wrong. It hits hard with ancient death rancor and even Rykard's rancor, all the magma sorceries and you can combine it with golden order seal to get very good scaling on incantations + access to golden vow. Very versatile and underrated staff and build
I overlooked it because i was testing staffs on my Astrologer character, where my faith is very low. I didn't take the extra faith scaling into account.
The problem is that if you want a dex/str and int character then you need to lvl up dex, vit, mind, vig, int, now if you want that staff you need to add faith, and at lower lvls its like ok ez lvls but endgame its 100k runes per level aint good unless you really want some faith miracles
Omg I have like 200+ hours in the game and I never realized you can upgrade a staff. The first staff I found was the meteor staff and never found a staff with better scaling. I guess I know why now. Thanks 🙏
It also took me 90+ hours to finally realise how to get the maps in this game easily. After that, i immediately got all the maps in under 1-2 hours. This game is just way too silent.
That is absolutely brutal, you’d hope you’d eventually notice a staff when you’re flipping through upgrades. Fortunately if meteorite was your first staff it sounds like you weren’t doing a very mage focused build
@@CA_Hariharaniyer2023damn another one I didn’t even consider. Has me wondering what borderline common knowledge mechanic have I missed that is making my run unnecessarily hard
The azur glintsone staff gives 40 virtual dexterity to casting speed and the radagon Icon gives 30 (70 dex gives you max casting speed). So with your build with 40 dex + radagon Icon you're actually wasting the azur staff
The Carian goes really well with my beloved Moonveil katana. I'm not really a caster kinda guy, but I figure a good staff is like a sand wedge. You hope you never have to use it, but you'll probably need it at some point to finish your round.
Im glad you mentioned the meteorite staff, no one ever mentions it, I used that staff for majority of the game cz the sorcery scaling was off the charts lol
The first thing I did when I started a new toon was ride to Caelid and get the meteorite staff. Yeah, you can't upgrade it, but like he says, it will carry you for a long time. Plus, when you get it a great spell for it is like 20 feet away underground. Great early game staff with little effort.

I wouldn’t touch Azurs staff. It’s 50% more FP for 15% faster cast speed. Lusats is a bit more viable if you use it as a boss nuking tool, but for general level clearing it’s too taxing on your resources. Leveling dex and using radagon icon trivialize it. Also, there is at least one spell in the game that does CONSIDERABLE more damage if cast left handed. Also, you can get the bonus from any staff by carrying it in your off hand.
@@lordkars3971 adula's moonblade. But I wouldn't recommend using it now because it was nerfed considerably, it deals 40% less damage as before and now it deals similar damage to carian greatsword at double the fp cost
