As someone from Trinidad and Tobago these spiders use ALOT more room than what's given in majority of care videos and guides. If you gave this species more space they will absolutely use it.

My little girl just came in today. Absolutely beautiful in person. Even the juveniles have the orange chevrons on the legs. Also thanks for this video it helped alot. I eneded up copying this setup.
What an absolute beautiful tarantula, this is probably my favourite new world arboreal tarantula but I would probably get this species and use it as my final new world and transition to an old world as they apparently act similar to old worlds

Another hobby classic that I've entertained the idea of raising up. It's the speed that worries me most. Between these and A. avicularia, I'd venture a guess these are a tad more hardy overall. Not the most colourful spider, but oftentimes subtlety is its own beauty. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)

Great video as always, have to admit, Psalmopoeus have become my favourite genus of all, I was over the moon when my cambrdgei, irminia, and pulcher all turned out to be female, and they are all doing well in their new enclosures thanks to watching your channel.

Unfortunately there has been so much said about the dangers of all sorts of things regarding our spiders and most is unfounded and repeated again and again by people who have had no first hand experience themselves and so the myths go on!! as long as you collect from a safe place where there is no chance of it being sprayed or covered in anything, you can walk into any woodland and it just smells fresh all you need to do is be a little thoughtful about where you go to collect it.Im thinking of doing a video to cover this very thing .👍

Those look like Calathea. They are notoriously hard to keep alive due to humididy requirements so they might do well in and enclosure like that. At the nursey where I bought mine they are the one plant that is kept differently. Everything else is just on benches and shelves but Calathea are kept in a huge empty fish pond with a powerful cold mist humidifier running 24/7. It looks like fucking Dagobah.
Hi Dave, great vid as always, I have a couple of questions. 1st have you got a vid going through step be step on bio active set ups, I can't seem to find one on your channel, and would you consider making one that covers everything even the lighting. 2nd I have a young (4 maybe 5cm) Chevron which has some more room I'm it's plastic enclosure, but was wondering what enclosures you use and why. 3rd I have noticed there is mesh on top of your enclosures, is there a chance of any Ts chewing through the mesh as this has been reported on other vids from other keeper? Love the Chevron by the way and it's one of yours.
I explain in each rehousing the process of the bio-active set ups and there is a video on the lighting I use, as for the mesh I have not g=had any issues with it myself, and I use 20x20x30 exos for my adult arborials , so glad your enjoying your chevron ❤️👍

I keep it moist most of the time and since I put my new lights in they have done much better and its all still alive in all the new rehouses only the old tanks has it died off becouse they never got the light 👍

Lol the average humidity in our houses. Clearly Dave you have never been to Montreal Canada :) In winter the humidity goes down to 30-35% and in the summer it can be 90+% .

I dont worry to much about cross ventilation , with a full mes top I get enough air flow becouse with the heat and moisture it rises so we get a constant air exchange 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties i feed once every 3 days but i think one of the molts was in the burrow he/she made and just got pushed out. Cant find anything about them molting so fast back to back Only thing i could find is that they can molt fast to regrow limbs but it has all 8, both of the molts do.

Just soak bark, stones etc in boiling water, will kill any parasites, then let air dry, simple

You could try but if the roots if they get wet will kill the plant so the drainage layer really helps with that and keeps your plants healthy👍

Yes just trim them when needed 👍

@@daveslittlebeasties i feed once every 3 days but i think one of the molts was in the burrow he/she made and just got pushed out. Cant find anything about them molting so fast back to back Only thing i could find is that they can molt fast to regrow limbs but it has all 8, both of the molts do.

@@daveslittlebeasties thanks i will do that. Other then that my spiders do absolutely fine they eat very good. You and tom big's spiders are my main source of care info. Both of you are very good in my opinion. Thanks for everything 👌👌👍
