- Rehouse and care of our Psalmopoeus cambridgei
Today we are going to rehouse our P.cambridgei, the Trinidad chevron these can get to a impressive 6+legspan as adults there a New World arboreal from a tropical climate often seen out and make a good transition to those wishing to keep the slightly more demanding spider with a little attitude and a good turn of speed.

Every time I load the video up I’m looking in that top right corner at those big things 😂😂
As someone from Trinidad and Tobago these spiders use ALOT more room than what's given in majority of care videos and guides. If you gave this species more space they will absolutely use it.
beautiful girl, she much preferred her old bark at first lol
Yes she did😂👍
A beautiful girl. Stunning. I do love the way you talk about your spiders. They are family to you both aren't they.
I'm just as mad with the way I talk to my tortoise.
Again Dave and camera lady , we learn so much from you x
Thank you Elaine, I have spent my entire life around animals its what makes me happy 👍😂❤️
She is one big gorgeous although stubborn spider. Thanks Dave
She is lovely really 😂👍
wow she loved her old home lol amazing video keep up the great work
She is gorgeous Dave. I love the way you talk about your beasties like they are a cat or dog, just gorgeous😊😘😂
Omgosh she is gorgeous!!!! Great job Dave. Tyfs God bless you
Thanks Debbie ❤️
As a new keeper, I learn a lot watching your videos. Thank you for making them!
Im so happy they are helping you ❤️
My little girl just came in today. Absolutely beautiful in person. Even the juveniles have the orange chevrons on the legs. Also thanks for this video it helped alot. I eneded up copying this setup.
What an absolute beautiful tarantula, this is probably my favourite new world arboreal tarantula but I would probably get this species and use it as my final new world and transition to an old world as they apparently act similar to old worlds
The camera lady does a great job. Stunning tarantula.
Hello great video rehousing Dave good luck in 3rd round of fatal fangs III
Thanks moon got to get through round 2 first😂😂 but we have our fingers crossed👍👍 but it is the taking part that counts we have really enjoyed it so far and the competition is fearsome 👍
Wonderfull clip again like always :-)
I woke up this morning and my curly hair just opened up her hole after 4 month premolt..that and Dave's video just made my day. You rock Dave best enclosures on UA-cam
Thanks TJ REALLY Appreciate your support my friend 👍
What a beautiful Tarantula. I want one!
I have a few available 😂😂👍
Another great video, makes me giggle still that the Stirmi water bowl must be hidden at all cost, but all others require a green bowl in pride of place 🤣🤣
😂😂 what I meant was I wanted the top of the water bowl to be at substrate hight so it looked like soil straight to water 😂😂😂😂👍
Another smashing video Dave thank you 🙏
Our pleasure glad you liked it 👍
She does not want to leave her old home ,she's got spunk ,iam geting one of those 👍
Beautiful T
Awesome video. Love watching you rehome them. Lucky things have the best enclosures.
Thanks Mary we try our best ❤️
Ingenious setup with the membrane. Another great video Dave 👍
Thank you my friend 👍
I'm feeding my psalm cambridgei and my h mac right now while watching this another great video
Cant beat feeding time 😂👍
Beauty.
Trinidad’s move like old world t’s it’s crazy how fast they are !
Epic battle, buddy.Irresistible force meets an immovable object.
😂😂😂
The camera never does this species any justice ... Their legs are just so much more stunning then the camera can even conceive!
Yes you are very right they are a very underrated spider indeed👍👍👍
Congrats on passing 5K in Subscribers! Another beauty! Keep up the great work!
Thanks buddy 😂👍
Brilliant video Dave, informative, enjoyable and a beautiful cambridgei and brilliant camera work by camera lady as usual, super job Dave.
Thanks George 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Your welcome Dave.
spiders never go where you want them to go do they 😂💜💙🕸
An absolut stunner .... as allways ... you are so gentle mate ... :-)
Cheers buddy 👍
Another hobby classic that I've entertained the idea of raising up. It's the speed that worries me most. Between these and A. avicularia, I'd venture a guess these are a tad more hardy overall. Not the most colourful spider, but oftentimes subtlety is its own beauty. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
They are really nice when you look closely 👍
The one i waited! Beautiful spider Dave, keep up the good work!
Thank you 👍
Great video Dave and a gorgeous girl, I have 2 of them and are very hungry spiders.
Yes they are very keen
Very nice T Dave.
Another great upload. Here's to 10k subs soon.
Thanks matey 👍
Loved it!! Psalmopoeus and Tapinauchenius are my favorite new worlds!
Edit: Ugh, I guess I'm not that picky, Avicularia too! 🤣
A lady and her bark.😊 She is pretty. Thank you for your videos.
Bless'er trying to hold on to her bark, that's like me holding on the ladder into the swimming pool!
I'm sure she'll soon appreciate her new home though.
She had forgotten within a few minutes 😂👍
Dave, hope this comment reaches you. I'm getting back into the hobby and my lovely partner is getting into it for the first time. While brushing up on husbandry I discovered your channel. I showed her and since then we've been hooked. You're amazing to put it simply. We appreciate your knowledge and follow your example. Your experience gives us confidence and we are so happy you decided to create Dave's Little Beasties! Thank you thank you!
Also, we couldn't forget about Camera Lady! Shes's great too!
Thank you so much guys, and welcome to our channel and I hope you enjoy the hobby for all it has to offer, im so glad your enjoying the content we provide 👍❤️❤️❤️
Dave, I think your crayon art (hnder the map) is coming along really well. It's quite abstract, yet invaluable, I think.
Beautfull Spider👏😍
look forward to mine growing up. lovely spider.
Such a lovely spider! Beautiful coloring. A sweet girl.
I love these videos Dave! Your channel popped up recently and I’ve been watching it every day since. I used to be fairly arachnophobic, so it’s very illuminating to see spiders from the perspective of a spider lover! I’m from Queensland, Australia.
Can’t wait to see more from you. All the best!
Great set, they really like make hide near substrate surface under a bark. Love it😍💗
Stunning spiders Dave, in face so stunning I ordered a sub adult pair that came today.
Got one of these as a sling for my first tarantula about a week ago. Probably not an ideal first but I'm trying to stay on top of things.
very informative video thank you Dave
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Appreciate you dave.this is my favorite tarantula and I like your style and delivery of information as compared to other tarantula keepers on UA-cam.
Awesome! Thank you!
love this genus, one of my absolut faves, super cool look and love this olive coloration! Btw great enclosure dave :) keep going
Thanks so much!
Watching this Video from Trinidad :P I miss D bush!! seen these at night!
Welcome my friend ❤️👍
Love it 🖤🕷
Awesome. I got one as a freebie. She is so cute. Thanks for info how to set up her house
Your Great Dave.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video as always, have to admit, Psalmopoeus have become my favourite genus of all, I was over the moon when my cambrdgei, irminia, and pulcher all turned out to be female, and they are all doing well in their new enclosures thanks to watching your channel.
Thanks for your kind words Sean , you was lucky to get all females thats what we all want 😂good luck with them buddy👍
@@daveslittlebeasties cheers, don't know if I will get into the breeding side, I'd like to try but.....guess its that possibility that the male ends up as lunch, but then I guess it's all part of nature's plan in the end.
Another great video.... Addictive to watch.... The Kaeng Krachen is the one I fear most though
She is a baby 😂😂👍
Hi Dave, you’re really nice to listen to 😂 That aside, I’m absolutely riveted to your lovely spiders! I’m still phobic to them near me (mind you they probably don’t want to know me either lol) Love the way you are with your wee beasties 🕷
So nice of you❤️❤️❤️❤️
She's a beauty Dave, great video as I think we've come to expect!! I'm hoping that now the weather is better, I'll finally get my P cambridgei slings. 🤞🏻
That will be cool 👍👍👍
What a gorgeous girl she's a smasher ...
Yes she really is 👍
another clear and informative brilliant video PROFF, CAMERA LADY IS QUALLITY AS USUAL. many thanks for sharing
Cheers buddy 👍
Nice Video and informative on how to take care of tarantulas.. HOw empressive that you gain a lot of subscribers around the world. Tarantula now a days is being recognize as the best option to have pet specially for busy people who don't much time to take care of dogs and cats that need of your attention everyday.
Thank you so much 😀
Another one that I don't have in my collection. Nice one Dave.
You know the answer to that 😂👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Already on it Dave 😉
Lovely lady. I had an adult female and the feeding response was so strong her abdomen was huge. It contorted into allsorts of bizarre positions when she rested vertically on the bark/windows.
Thats why we control the feeding ?👍
Me and Honey loved this video 😁 I said to her that girl lives her bark and don't wanna let go lol 😆 Honey started crying cause she felt sorry for her 😁😁😁 BTW Honey is my little dog ❤
Hey Dave was wondering if you are worried or had a problem with parasites when you use untreated stuff? I absolutely love how you do things but just had that question
I was wondering the same thing. Always been scared to use stuff from the woods. Would love to hear the answer to this question. Love the vids Dave!
Have also been wondering this!
Unfortunately there has been so much said about the dangers of all sorts of things regarding our spiders and most is unfounded and repeated again and again by people who have had no first hand experience themselves and so the myths go on!! as long as you collect from a safe place where there is no chance of it being sprayed or covered in anything, you can walk into any woodland and it just smells fresh all you need to do is be a little thoughtful about where you go to collect it.Im thinking of doing a video to cover this very thing .👍
Just soak bark, stones etc in boiling water, will kill any parasites, then let air dry, simple
@@philipsimpson1017 Dave will tell you that it's not necessary to do even that, if you're careful about where you collect your materials. He has released a video about collecting his materials. You should check it out!
Oh god that enclosure in the corner again
😂😂😂😂Stop it now 😂😂😂😂😂
My first arboreal was a P regalis... I'm a danger to myself!🤣
Good choice it will keep you on your toes 😂👍
@@daveslittlebeasties I love her - she's gorgeous! I picked up a rufilata and a striata recently as well. Quickly becoming my favorite genus!
What a sweet girl! The only new world I’d have (no horrible hair kicking 😄)
Perfect choice mate
Awesome video Dave! I have mine in the same enclosure but no where near your beauty's size. Now after seeing this specific video. I didn't do a bio active enclosure though but now it has me wanting to change it 😂😂
Its well worth the effort mate and looks really nice too.
Just noticed today that mine molted And it’s absolutely HUGE now!! Definitely the most size I’ve seen a T put on in one molt lol
Deffanatley one on my list... my luck I'll fet a saucy one tho lol
You never know 😂😂😂👍
👍👍
Didn't want to go well done dave
The tarantula collective sent me! You now have another subscriber.
Welcome to the channel I hope you enjoy ❤️👍
@@daveslittlebeastiesno worries mate
@@daveslittlebeasties sound are you based in england?
It would look so cool if you stapled the moss to the bark for the arboreals not sure if the moss would survive that but would really cool
Hi Dave, great vid as always, I have a couple of questions.
1st have you got a vid going through step be step on bio active set ups, I can't seem to find one on your channel, and would you consider making one that covers everything even the lighting.
2nd I have a young (4 maybe 5cm) Chevron which has some more room I'm it's plastic enclosure, but was wondering what enclosures you use and why.
3rd I have noticed there is mesh on top of your enclosures, is there a chance of any Ts chewing through the mesh as this has been reported on other vids from other keeper?
Love the Chevron by the way and it's one of yours.
I explain in each rehousing the process of the bio-active set ups and there is a video on the lighting I use, as for the mesh I have not g=had any issues with it myself, and I use 20x20x30 exos for my adult arborials , so glad your enjoying your chevron ❤️👍
lol she's not perfectly happy, you can see that lol i sure wouldn't like to give up my piece of bark either lol
Awesome video Dave!
Truly a beautiful spider!
Always have my listening ears on when you’re talking!
I have a question: have you ever thought about merchandise for the channel?
My birthday is coming up in June ( it’s on a Thursday which means you’ll upload which is awesome ) and my grandpa wanted my birthday list of things I would like! I put merch of different animal channels I follow and I wondered if you’ve ever considered merch?
Hope you see this Dave!
Not yet! matey but happy birthday my friend 👍👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Thanks Dave!!
It’s on June 24th which is a Thursday sooo you’ll upload 😁!
Lol the average humidity in our houses. Clearly Dave you have never been to Montreal Canada :) In winter the humidity goes down to 30-35% and in the summer it can be 90+% .
No I have never im in the uk where its pretty steady here 👍
Great video thanks, I am planning a similar enclosure to this for my P. Cambridgei lady :) - I wondered regarding the live plants, how do you make sure there isn't any fertilizer on them from the soil they were potted in at the garden centre?
I dont worry about it , it's never caused any issues ❤️👍
Really nice job. I'm getting a cambridgei sling in a couple of days, might be a while til it needs a tank like that.
I'm curious about when you use real plants, how do you deal with them growing too big for the tank? Do you choose slow growing ones or do you have to prune them?
Yes just trim them when needed 👍
Where do you get your moss from and what type? Looks amazing in the enclosures! Do you ever buy some when you run out from what you collect from outside?
Its all collected from the wild my friend 👍
Those look like Calathea. They are notoriously hard to keep alive due to humididy requirements so they might do well in and enclosure like that. At the nursey where I bought mine they are the one plant that is kept differently. Everything else is just on benches and shelves but Calathea are kept in a huge empty fish pond with a powerful cold mist humidifier running 24/7. It looks like fucking Dagobah.
Your Spider's just keep getting better Dave, how big & will she get much larger mate ??????
She is pretty much full grown now so will only grow very slowly now 👍
She did not want to let go of that bark; always one more leg to hang on. There IS more bark on the entire planet earth, I promise 😂😂😂
They get possessive 😂😂😂😂
Dave dude? You'd make a good prison guard, 🤣
Thank you 😊
Hey Dave awesome vid as usual! I’m getting this species for my first arboreal. I was going to get a peach earth tiger but decided to crawl before I walk 😂 I’m starting a female 3.5”(8.89cm)in a 8x8x12 inch (20x20x30cm)enclosure that I’ll be mimicking yours. First bio setup too very excited. She’ll be here Wednesday. What size are your largest arboreal enclosure’s? Thanks 🙏🏽 in advance!
30x30x45
@@daveslittlebeasties that’s cm? You know Americans use inches lol 😂
@@daveslittlebeasties thanks Dave I wound up getting a 12x12x18 for my new girl. Idk I just felt like the 8x8x12 was just too small. It was the tarantula crib large and It only opened up in the front and I just didn’t like it for a spider that size and me working in the enclosure. Thanks again brother!
@@ANTHONYLIVETV And...?
Dave, I'm just wondering where you get your matting and clay balls from?
Amazon
I felt a little sorry for her, because she just wanted to stay on her familiar piece of bark...😢
What is the largest/longest new world arboreal sp. Of tarantula?
Is it a problem with these enclosures and your bio set up that the front air vents are blocked by the substrate?
Dave, have you ever gotten grain mites in any of your enclosures?
No not that I have noticed
How big do they get? I’ve had mine for a year now and she is as long as my hand now! She’s huge! I’m just wondering how many more inches will she grow?
That sounds about full grown 6inch or so
Do you cut the moss like you would with lawn turf?
Yes just tear it into the size you want 👍
DAVE! I've got eggs with legs!!! Haven't counted them all yet. Will let you know.
Thats amazing news congratulations Linda you will love the journey keep us posted so pleased for you 👍👍👍👍👍
How do you get those cross ventilation things in the enclosure I have same size but just a mesh on top, but I’m redoing the lid if that’s right,
I dont worry to much about cross ventilation , with a full mes top I get enough air flow becouse with the heat and moisture it rises so we get a constant air exchange 👍
Hi
Huhu 😃
What is the difference between the Trinidad Chevrons and the Sun Tigers other than colour ? Are they both good beginner spiders, when getting into arboreal tarantulas?
Yes I would say so very forgiving spiders
I am now becoming a stalker at Dave’s Little Beasties, Mrs Camera lady I am not trying to stalk your husband, to be fair I have one of my own and that i have been trying to offload! That tarantula is stunning, i don’t think I could sneak that one in, my hubby would see it and faint!
Hey, i doubt you will see this. What is that mesh you use to keep the soil from going into the clay balls?
Its a cloth weed surpresent I get from the garden centres or on line 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties You're the best thank you so much!
How long have you been collecting the beasties? I have always had a fear of spiders. I never in my life would have thought I'd use the words "beautiful" and "spider" in the same sentence! I enjoy your videos and listening to you.
