All Hail the geniculata 🙌🙌🙌 One of my favourite t's pure perfection in a spider! And a viv befitting the queen she is 🥰🥰🥰 made my day this has Dave, Camera Lady 🖤🤍🖤
Again I'm impressed by just how beautiful some of these animals are. Her new enclosure looks very natural and inviting so I hope she spends at least some of her time out where you cans enjoy and appreciate her.
@13:35 YES!!!! I’m so sick of the mesh lid hysteria! I’ve been called all kinds of names for saying it’s really not necessary to replace them with acrylic! I have around 300 T’s and a lot of mesh tops, I’ve never had an issue! I know a lot of long time keepers like you, who also have never had an issue! I don’t know who started this idea that you MUST replace the lids, but people are very militant about it. That said, if you see your spider getting stuck, by all means change it! This is common sense! Ok, whew. Rant over, thank you!
one of my all time favourite species!!! I know they're fairly common but I think they're one of the best looking, I will always keep one in my collection
Hello Dave and Camera Lady. I was so excited to see this girl! I miss seeing her out in her enclosure in the background of your past videos. She seems to have such a personality and I think she likes attention. She will definitely be happy in that lovely enclosure. It is beautiful Dave, well done. Excellent footage Camera Lady! You got some wonderful close ups. Again, I am thrilled to see the glass tanks coming back into the Beastie Room. I know they take up space but they are so very lovely. Thank you for the video. Y’all take care and see you soon! Good night! ❤❤🤠🥱😴🌚
Ello uncle and camera lady! Hope this message finds u well and I must say! It's so funny how people seem to really look for this black and white way of things instead of using their own brains and like u said taking bits and pieces of the information and making ur self a tailored way of doing things that fits u and ur caring for the creatures we keep!!! Thank u for well being u!!
I’m so glad you touched on location and husbandry because it’s so true. I live in Tennessee and my t’s are in a shed that has r-19 insulation because it can get very cold here, an air conditioner and a heater. In the summer I use damp rid to keep the humidity at a reasonable level and take it out in the winter when the heat dries out the air. You really do learn how to tweak your husbandry to make it work.
Amazing video! Since watching your videos i started keeping my snake/tarantula room 26C and they all are doing well i have an humidifier. Where i live its a temperate rain forest so its humid but my heater drys the room out. Ive always used mesh tops and im soo frustrated everytime someone yells at me for it. My buddy has been keeping and selling tarantulas for 45 years always using mesh 0 issues and he keeps 3000 tarantulas because he breeds and sells them. So i trust your and his opinions since all the keepers hating on mesh have barely been more then 10 years in the hobby with 0 proof
I just rehoused mine my white knee still smaller then the one you have . I'm excited for mine to grow bigger bc they are beautiful species of tarantula
Excellent video. Thank you. In my area there frequently are micro-climates so I would think that a thermometer and maybe even a humidity gauge could be helpful. Thanks for another visit with this girl. I remember her well in her large display enclosure.
This species has a special place in my heart. I feel like they’re more interactive and aware than some other genera. I love their attitudes so much too.
You are VERY correct Dave… I live in the United States in Tennessee. Winter can get very cold and dry and summer is super hot and humid. My spider room is also my home office that I’m in everyday. This time of year, I KEEP the space heater on. And I will tell you as soon as I turn it on it’s like they know and they come out and place themselves against the side of their enclosures at the holes and sit there all day and feel that heat lol it’s a struggle to keep the balance of dry and humid, especially in an older house. Just gotta do what’s best to your own environment. I’m so glad you touched on that! Thank you . She is gorgeous btw. Mines still a little baby but I’m excited to see her grow 🤍
Im in Kentucky in the US and it gets very humid here in the summer and can get very cold in the winter. We sometimes joke we can have all 4 seasons in one day! My husband grew up in California and he said it is much drier there.
There is woven mesh and stamped metal. Stamped metal is fine, i.e., komodo . Beautiful girl, you have there, dave .I am totally with you on keeping the spiders Warmer than the old "if your comfortable they are comfortable or room temperature "advice .
I've always really liked the look of this tarantula. I was excited to see this notification this morning. I love these videos. So much valuable information for a newbie like myself. Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge of the hobby and making it fun instead of expensive!!! You all are awesome!!!
My spiders probably love the temp and humidity. My room is heated to 80 degrees and I have 4 stock tanks for turtles which keeps my ambient humidity at 60% average sometimes higher lol I love it it's like walking into the rainforest
She's so pretty I really like the whiteknees and I love you enclosure builds I'd definitely be happy if I were one of your spiders haha So good to see everything is going well and coming together 😊👍🏻
I live middle of east coast in the US and this winter has been challenging when it comes to keeping some of our animals, the biggest issue is the humidity, winter time here seems to be very dry, and our house heating is all done with electric heaters, and this seems to dry the air inside even more, it’s definitely been a challenge to keep enclosures at ideal humidity, my spiders seem to “slow down a bit” when it comes to molting during winter months. 👀
Love those A. Gens! Mines only about 1.5 inch but has been quite entertaining watching it move a fairly big piece of moss around its enclosure to eventually end up in the water dish and the same with some leaves. Such beautiful Ts!
Hey Dave & Cam'lady! True, there's a lot of paranoia going on about mesh lids, things collected from outside, soil, etc. Unfortunately, I don't think you can make a point. Just like for those believing the Earth is flat... 😂 Cheers! Thomas
Such a beautiful tarantula, a really big girl!👋🕷👍Have a wonderful end of the week and thank you dear Dave and Sweet Camera Lady for all the interesting videos you two make, big hugs 🥰❤🤗, Susanne.
It's good that you bring up these things, like temperature, bringing in stuff from outside, "dangerous" potting compost etc 🙃 There is so much talk in fb-groups about how dangerous things are for your tarantula. It's like, the common sense is just gone, lol 😂 And Im not even going to start with the temperature thing. "If your comfortable, so is your spider"... No. Just no. Ok, Im done! Love these videos, love the enclosure and the pretty girl that moved in! 🥰
I think that it’s clear that the spiders appreciate your gentleness and approach with them. You could almost see the spider thinking ‘I’ll give a little fur kick, just to remind people…’ It wasn’t stressed, it just got on with it. Another great video.
Glad to see these type of videos back as a staple part of your videos again as I know the house move put a halt to them for a while. Great to see how you go about piecing together a new enclosure and seeing the spider be moved into it
as usual PROFF we are having another fine informational video to help the hobby. so easy but another effective rehouse and care. great footage CAMERA LADY. many thanks guys and take care
She's one of my favorites that you share Dave ... I was really hoping she would investigate though and open up so we could have a better look ... Maybe next time
AWESOME video Dave I had a fairly large female A.Gen a few years ago she was massive she passed and now I have a juvie suspect female they are STUNNING Tarantulas very under rated species and very hardy like you said
Morning Dave & Camera lady wot an amazing rehousing video the old things in life are the best like u say for your spiders loving the new beasty room hope ya sign comes back into ya videos again soon would love to get a personalised one for the Mrs new channel me self hope u both have a wonderful day take care & god bless
Wonderful video as always, Dave! The timing on this one couldn't have been more perfect; I just got my first A geniculata recently, and I'm so excited to watch it grow. It's smaller than my pinkie fingernail! Well wishes from me to you, Camera Lady, and all your beasties.
I always recommend these as beginner species. Look great, always out on show, decent size, give fantastic moults, love their food, grow fast. Perfect for a beginner. I recommend starting with a small juve, to get that experience of a growing spider, which is fascinating and exciting.
Couldn't agree more. Mine is always out and was the third spider I got. Such amazing colours. Mine has just started attacking the water dish when I top it up which is just great.
That girl is one of my favorites! So pretty! Good info on so-called "room temperature" too. Always enjoy seeing what Dave and Camera Lady come up with! I'm recovering from back surgery and about to have a shoulder replacement, so I really look forward to your videos! Thanks to you both! 😉🕸🕷🕸😉💕
Hello Dave and Camera lady ❤ Just wanted to say it was a pleasure to meet you both at Sundays 25th Invert show. You both never stopped and always met everyone so graciously. We are fairly new to the hobbie and your Chanel has been inspirational , thank you for your dedication and kindness. We bought a mystery from you and we are over the moon with our little creatures who are all doing well and have amazing appetites, you can most defiantly see how much you love your spiders . Hope to catch you both again , keep up the great work. All the best Sian and Tony x
I enjoyed this video very much, as always. She is a beautiful girl and I appreciate her in the glass enclosure. I recently watched a couple of videos by another person unpacking, re-housing and feeding spiders. I had to stop because the spiders were often stressed, in defensive position and attacking the brush used, etc. I just really prefer how you handle your spiders and always attempt to keep them calm, and also that you don't over-feed them just because they are reactive to food. The experience and accumulated knowledge you share is so enjoyable.
H Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕🕷️. Hope you’re both well and have had a great week/weekend. This video is the dogs doodahhs, translates into ABSOLUTELY BLOOMING BRILLIANT 😊! I love watching you do rehousing videos. Always so interesting and educational. I dunno how long this video lasted, but it was amazing. Love the spider, she’s so perfect. She didn’t want to wreck her hair either 😂😂 She’s a corker. Brilliant setup for her too, not big compared to her other one, but it’s getting her out on show again. Get camera work as usual Camera Lady 😊 Looking forward to the next one. Take care and have a wonderful week ahead 💙💕🕷️xxxx
Love the A. Geniculata she’s a beautiful tarantula. The one I got from you is doing well has had its second moult with me. Another great housing video with all the info we need! 💜
Best care video yet on these ! I was 'told' to keep these species dry just slighty over fill water dish once in while! Mine eventually stopped eating and basically started to give up. After bit of research i realised how wrong that they need to be kept in an arid environment was. The response to its upgrade and more humid environment was instant. Lots videos i see say same wrong thing. Or suggest keep small area bit damper. I dont mind letting it dry out over couple days but thats it. Good work m8 .
Again Dave a terrifically informative video. I can't tell you how much I've learnt from you. I enjoy your presentations so much and eagerly await the next.
Absolutely brilliant Dave, ideal set up for that wonderful geniculata, and very good advice as always Dave, that's another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady Dave.
I’m in Montana ,US we have dry heat in summer for like 1 month July then like 70’s through August part of September than winters are super dry and cold, so I have to heat room and humidity from November through mid April but Joe Early august still fair humidity in basement 75 degrees
I do agree about the different environment I live in America and I would do things that fit my environment best but I love your content so I try to never miss an episode
When I first started watching your channel I wondered when re-using a tree branch if the new tenant would stop in the doorway and “sniff, sniff. I smell different pheromones. Someone else has been in here.”
All Hail the geniculata 🙌🙌🙌
One of my favourite t's pure perfection in a spider! And a viv befitting the queen she is 🥰🥰🥰 made my day this has Dave, Camera Lady 🖤🤍🖤
Thank you 🙏
Again I'm impressed by just how beautiful some of these animals are. Her new enclosure looks very natural and inviting so I hope she spends at least some of her time out where you cans enjoy and appreciate her.
I hope so too!❤️
I'm so glad you did this one on her!!!

I fully agree. My suntiger male fir example has been walking at the mesh lid for the last 6 month on a daily basis. No issues at all
one of my all time favourite species!!! I know they're fairly common but I think they're one of the best looking, I will always keep one in my collection
What a joy to see this awesome spider again. I always looked forward to seeing her in your previous space. She is fantastic!
Happy to see this lovely girl get a decent home.

💡3:08 "They're horrible things, really." Oh! Is that right? What happened to "What lovely spiders they are", eh Dave?
We don’t like hairs 😂
One of my favourites! Great to see the old girl back again.

Eurgh, my nose started itching just watching that
Great video and Brazilian white knee are such a great species to have in your collection.
Beautiful tarantula, mines only a sling at the mo, but the way they put on size, won't he too long ❤

Is this the spider that always sat in the same place but might occasionally face the opposite direction?
A real beauty 😍😍😍😍
Absolutely brilliant Dave, ideal set up for that wonderful geniculata, and very good advice as always Dave, that's another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady Dave.

I would be interested in seeing a moult video Dave
We do have a couple 🙏
You don’t recycle the hairkickers’ substrate because the hairs are bad for you, or because the hairs are bad for other spiders?
Both nom point putting contaminated substrate into another enclosure 👍
❤❤❤
are you still using beasty mix
Yes we are ❤
