Im in the middle of installing this in my 2006 Forester XT. Here's a few notes so far:
1)make sure the add-a-fuse is oriented properly. I used fuse #14 and the hot side is on the bottom, therefore the pigtail needs to be oriented up. If not, if that fuse blows, it'll break the circuit to iWire relay.
2)the forester cargo cubby gets in the way of any of the convenient mounting locations so you have to get creative to mount it securely. I drilled a hole and made a bracket out of aluminum bar
3)if you're upgrading your pump and it didnt come with an install kit like the aem 340, make sure to buy an install kit that includes at least the rubber isolator. My OEM one disintegrated badly. I ended up buying a $15 fuel pump on Amazon that came with the isolator, new hose clamps, hose and those pre-filter retainers (i just chucked the pump it came with)
4)might as well replace the fuel filter if it's the original while you're in there
I cant wait! Im going to put this in my car this weekend!
You sir are doing good things
This video is super helpful with showing how to run the wires through the car to get to the fuel pump controller. However, I have an 04 STi, and just swapped out my OEM metal fuel hanger for a Radium dual pump hanger. I want to run dual Walbro 450s can your fuel pump controller kit do that without having to drill into Radiums Aluminum hanger? Do I have to instal the bypass on the Aluminum hanger or does the wiring kit for the dual pumps come already plug and play without having to drill into the Radium Aluminum hanger?
Hoping they answer on this
It's plug and play. The radium hanger already has all the studs you need
Soon as you get this back in Stock I'm Buying One. 05 Outback. Having Fueling Issues...Runs Out at Top RPM. Should be Pushing North of 400hp. Currently only hitting 360hp with what I'm sure is a Low Fuel Pump Voltage Issue. That AEM340 going to need all it can get running E85. Hopefully you get your Stock. I would buy one today. Cars Currently sitting at the Performance Shop waiting for this Fuel Pump Wiring Upgrade🤦♂️
Next do the secondary pump setup.
It's on the list :)
Please do I’m about ready to install my with hub switch
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 any update?
@@murderedsubie1517 Do you mean our double pump hardwire kit? - iwireusa.com/collections/iwire-plug-and-play-harnesses/products/fuel-pump-controller-hardwire-kit-for-radium-hangers-double-pump
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 I think he did just bought the kit for my Wrx would love and install guide for double but gonna watch this vid and see if I can make do with this vid
I'm doing this on a 02 WRX bugeye but, I do not see the small ground wire on my fuel pump for the stud bypass kit. Does this not get used in the 02-07's?
That correct. You do not need that wire. Clip it short to the connector.
i have a question the fuel pump wiring that sits in the tank. What type of insulation is that made of? is it Teflon/ PTFE or is it something else/
It's ETFE since we use Tefzel for the wire and the extra sleeve is Raychem DR-25.
With a 95 GF8 and a DW400 how do you make the stud bypass work? The fuel pump hanger is all metal. Will those small bits of plastic prevent it from arcing?
Build 1681
It'll work all the same as the 02-07 WRXs with the metal hanger. cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0460/3822/0953/files/39dc8e_265b355d59fa4215906a5b8fc1a010b8.pdf?v=1636933777
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 awesome thanks! Finally finishing the build.
The grommet to the fender is blocked off by some control module boxes in the VA. There's no room to get a hand in there let alone a knife, hand and eyes.
This may help with the VA chassis. iwireusa.atlassian.net/wiki/external/MTYxZGIyNWNjMmE0NGZiMTgyZTgxYTJmNTcyNmI5Njk#Section-3b%3A-Newer-Model-Alternate-Power-Cable-Routing
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 I just used the grommet that's a couple inches lower for the door wiring. It's less protected from the elements so I'm going to add some RTV to help seal it.
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 Yall sent me the wrong stud bypass wiring lmao. sent an email out.
Do you have a diagram of how your system is. I been having issue with harness I bought myahe a year ago and just want to back trace it's a 08 wrx
Hi, thanks for this question. Please send us an email to info@iwireusa.com with the issues you are having and we can help you troubleshoot
Why wouldnt you do a dual set up? Running a single pump relay is easy
We offer a kit for dual pump as well and our standard single pump kit is prepped for dual pumps if you change your mind later.

Just did this on my 02 bugeye and finally did my first start last night on my new build. I am having issues with my fuel gauge not working. I'm assuming I did something wrong? Are there any common mistakes made that cause this or issues?
If it's the fuel level gauge sometimes the floaty gets stuck up when you reinstall the hanger. If it's something else please send us an email to info@iwireusa.com so we can assist you.
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 Thanks! I'll pull the fuel pump and check everything out.
Does the hard wire kit comes with the studs?
Yes, it sure does!
What would change, or how would you power the second pump, if you're running two pumps but one is just a pickup for the in-tank surge tank?
The second pump is run on an on/off switch. Surge tank would be completely different wiring than this kit.
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 I'm dropping this into an 05 STI. Would I treat the lift pump as basically a 2nd pump (as in just buy two of your wiring kits)? Or is there anything special I should do for the lift pump? Thanks!
@@goblazers4435 Please send us an email to info@iwireusa.com so we can chat specifics about your build and get you the custom wiring kit you need.
So where's the video for the f a model?
Standard kit does not work with 2015+ WRX and 2014+ Forester due to Fuel Pump Controller Design. Please contact us for current solutions we offer.
You wouldn't happen to know what battery mount/bracket that is do you? I'm trying to search and find it...
Yes we can help with that. meledesignfirm.com/
What fuel pump hanger is that?
It's OEM/Stock Hanger from the STI
Thank you for your video, I have a drain on my battery with the car off from the power feed to fuel pump controller relay. I have the Visconti set up with the 525 pump , any idea what could be causing it ? I
Hi Mike are you using our hardwire kit with the Visconti basket?
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538Thank you for your response, Im not sure I had a shop install everything .
@@mike63ful If you have our kit you'll need to make sure the add-a-fuse is in the correct location. If it is not, it can cause the relay to stick open and drain the battery.

It looks like the red relay trigger wire is plugged into slot 23 on the fuse panel 16 STi .Which fuse panel slot should it be in on a 16 STi ? Thanks
Routing it, is it the same in a 15 STi plataform?
Yup, this video will work for the 15+ STI as well
