    Good luck with the heat, and stay hydrated man! Found a guy out in Carson City who's willing to help me with my engine swap, said he'll charge $1500 labor and do whatever he can get to while he's there for no extra. Also he's offering to let me come hang out, or help out for a day on my build, said he can return my car within about 5 days or so, has a machine shop across the street.

    I installed one of these in my 07 STI. I'm glad to see that you just bought it with the two pumps preinstalled. I decided to cheap out and reuse my 340lph and just order the radium hanger with 1 pump. Big mistake. The two pumps are ever so slightly different, and my old 340lph did not fit correctly. This decision to cheap out started a chain reaction of events that led to blowing my head gasket. Also, glad to see that you didn't break any of the fuel hanger studs. Over here in the north east, they always break!

    • @Smeedia
      @Smeedia  3 роки тому +1

      Breaking one of those studs would not be a good time 😖 luckily all the ones I've seen up here have stayed in tact. And I debated buying it without the pumps ore installed but figured for this it would just be a little more simple to just get it with thr pumps for now

    I’m installing the radium as well. Had great advice that a hobb switch should be installed on one pump because the return is smaller than the feed and at low end/idle the smaller return will back up and increase the pressure in the rails because the fpr can’t evacuate enough pressure. Making bad drivability

    • @Smeedia
      @Smeedia  3 роки тому

      May have to hand that in, was going to increase duel hose sizes when we do the rebuild and do a -8 feed with a true -6 return

    • @06hawkeye88
      @06hawkeye88 3 роки тому +1

      @@Smeedia I’m going true 8 to 6 right now. But at idle am afraid that the injectors will only be using a very small amount so it would back up rather fast I would think. Hey man just wanted to make you aware of something you might want to look into. You said that you are getting a aeromotive 100 micron fuel filter that you are installing post pump. Radium has a fuel filter selection chart on their page that they recommend a 100micron filter only be pre pump. A 10 micron stainless filter is recommended for post pump application according to them. I know it’s a different brand filter you’re getting, but I’m sure it’s essentially the same filter as radium. I’d just hate to see you have issues from this.

    • @Smeedia
      @Smeedia  3 роки тому +1

      I saw that as well, not sure where they want the filter pre pump though, I'll snag a 10 micro filter that's the same size as the 100 I got and if we run into issues I can swap them out 🙏 appreciate the heads up on that!

    Other than a head gasket, and thermostat, what else can be causing an overheating issue. I doubt it’s an air bubble. When I send it, it goes 200 + 217, and then it drops. When it’s idling, it’s 196-198 and when I open the hood, it goes down drastically so maybe I should change hoods ?
